Suggesting Major Re-Write

[edit]

It reads like a anti-violence pamphlet not a wikipedia article, in fact, I find it hard that this article has existed so long and nobody's done any serious revision. -- 24.57.107.62 (talk) 04:50, 18 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Remove Lowe's Item in External Links?

[edit]

If another editor agrees, it seems the Link to Lowe's Online Training (Demos, Pricing, etc.) should be removed for being a commercial plug for a business. It's titled: Workplace Violence and Harassment Blog plus solutions

[edit]

I checked out the link, and most of the educational resources are accesible through payment, so I removed it. Nice catch. JZNIOSH (talk) 13:16, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Section on risk assessments

[edit]

This section is as work in progress. The legislation is outdated and is only from the Uk. Worldwide view is required. Will keep working on this. Any other editors opinions please?Mrm7171 (talk) 07:13, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No examples of workplace violence

[edit]

Many wikipedia articles have sections on notable examples of the entry. Why is it that this one does not? XavierItzm (talk) 20:35, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"workplace violence disproportionately affects females" is misleading

[edit]

It is correct that "Homicides contributed to 21% of all occupational fatalities for women, compared to 9% for men.", but since so men have a much higher rate of occupational fatalities than women to begin with the result is still that more men than women are victims of homocide as a occupational fatality. According to the source listed there were 78 female homicide victims and 390 male homicide victims. If anything men are disproportionally affected by (fatal) workplace violence. 95.34.108.186 (talk) 08:05, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Workplace Violence Examples

[edit]

I think that an area for improvement on this page is to specifically state examples and contributing factors in different areas of employment. For example, healthcare, business, and education could all have specific examples and contributing factors for workplace violence. This will more people understand workplace violence.
