On 18 June 2024, a Mw 4.9 earthquake struck 2 km (1.2 mi) northwest-north of Kashmar, in the Razavi Khorasan province, Iran,[1] killing four people and injuring 120 others.[2][3]

Earthquake
The earthquake had a moment magnitude of 4.9 and a depth of 10 km (6.2 mi).[1]
Impact
Four people were killed in the earthquake; two after a building façade collapsed in Kashmar and another two in Zendeh Jan due to a house collapse. An additional 120 others were injured from the earthquake, of which 35 were hospitalised.[2][3] In Kashmar, over 300 houses were damaged,[4] 200 of them severely.[5]
