Draft:List of Tramlink stops
Tramlink is a light rail system in the United Kingdom that serves Croydon and surrounding areas in South London. It began operation in 2000 and is managed by London Trams, a public body within Transport for London.
The network consists 39 stops, across 28 km (17 mi) of track, with 38 stops having opened in the initial phase, and Centrale tram stop added on 10 December 2005.[1][2] There is a mixture of street track shared with other traffic, off street track consisting of new rights-of-way, former railway lines such as the abandoned Woodside and South Croydon Joint Railway[3], as well as well as one right-of-way where the Tramlink track runs parallel to a third rail-electrified Network Rail line. The network uses Bombardier CR4000 and Stadler Variobahn trams which are painted in green livery.[4]
The network has a common centre in Croydon's town centre, with eastern termini at New Addington, Elmers, Beckenham Junction, and a western terminus at Wimbledon. There are several interchanges with National Rail, London Overground, and the District line. Tramlink is the fourth-busiest light rail network in the UK behind the Docklands Light Railway, Manchester Metrolink and Tyne and Wear Metro.[5]
