AIV

Lol, I love how fast and concise you are with your work at AIV! I'm a rookie admin, still getting used to actually patrolling the page, instead of just reporting :). Nice to see the work! Jmlk17 08:46, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, I thought I hadn't seen you around there, before, that I could remember. :) Your responses have been quite timely, as well. Always good to see another admin making the rounds (whatever the giant backlog of the hour is, we all have our uses, eh?). – Luna Santin (talk) 08:48, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I laughed out loud at this. I am a rookie admin too but I know exactly how you feel sometimes. Ocatecir Talk 08:49, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(Re Checkuser request) Argh, sorry about that one! I think I pasted something for future reference to remind me to place it on the main page, then somehow managed to click Save without checking it. Orderinchaos 10:42, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, heh. I've done worse, not a problem. Glad to see that's cleared up, I get to stop worrying if maybe the {{rfcu top}} directions are worded ambiguously. ;) – Luna Santin (talk) 10:45, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for reverting vandalism to my user page and user talk page!--Diniz (talk) 17:48, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, too bad I just vandleized them again.--124.186.56.120 08:07, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done and done. Also, since that IP seems to be static, I'm gonna go ahead and block it for a month. – Luna Santin (talk) 02:37, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My user page

Thanks for reverting the vandalism. I don't know what can come over some people. Although I must be honest, I've never had my page vandalized before. --DodgerOfZion 04:35, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You betcha. :) – Luna Santin (talk) 23:39, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User talk:Scottloveshighschoolmusical

Hi. Just curious how you noticed him. What were you watchlisting? I had just dropped a note to an admin acquaintance, but I had not expected the block to be that fast. Though I HAD expected him to vandalise me ;-) MadMaxDog 09:27, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The following IP User:222.152.83.253 is now vandaliszing me. Can you block that too? MadMaxDog 09:33, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically, I tend to monitor using WP:RCP#IRC_channels, but I use a variety of tools, to be honest. :p I'll have a look at that IP in a moment, here. – Luna Santin (talk) 09:35, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AIV case

Hi Luna, regarding the anon IP user 159.190.251.62 whom I posted a report about on AIV, a number of their edits are certainly vandalism, while others are more ambiguous. You were unsure about this edit which was a deletion but take a look at this one. Kate Moss's mother's name is not Golda Yufelbaum (a Holocaust refugee) it's Linda Moss according to a couple of news stories I found on google. This user vandalizes in a slightly more subtle way (for example listing out a ton of women Mick Jagger has been "linked to" here without providing any evidence) but I think that's all the more reason to block them again. They are making damaging changes that might not get noticed, so I'm hoping you might reconsider your decision not to block. Thanks! (Note, I'm going offline in a few minutes and might not be able to reply to a message for awhile.)--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 10:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello + Stroke order

Hello,

I noticed your warning, and thanks for your work (your time), second point : I'm not truly upset. I have about 15.000 edits on all the wikis, and I'm almost familiar with such unproductive and sad situations (I'm admin in wiki-fr and commons - Exploding boy don't know this 3 points).

I was lead to act in this way because other means have fail. Exploding boy hastily revert policy + minor comment lead me in wide lost of time, explaining all my rewriting policy. It appear that he is too hastily, and all my explanations were unusefull.

Since, I want mirror his revert policy, to show him what that do.

If you read the "square" that I want to do with my div, you can have my version of the story.

For the I know that user can use such images in the talk page of French articles, and I don't think it's fair to block me and the reason "use an image that Exploding boy don't want see, and don't accept Exploding boy reverts".

A proposition I can make to you :

  • block the stroke order article for one week ;
  • block me for one day ;
  • block Exploding boy for one day ;

This on the reason of "edition war and unproductive/upset endless talks". But the week of unproductive involvement on my side lead, and Nlu opinion that he had not knowledge to judge the opposition, lead me to think that I have no other way that mirror this revert policy. --Yug (talk) 22:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also encourage you to read this User_talk:Exploding_Boy#Strategy_n⁰2 (talks after I announced my new mirror strategy) --Yug (talk) 22:09, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear here, I haven't asked for anyone to be blocked, and I don't think the Stroke order article needs protection. All that is needed is for Yug to discuss his proposed changes on the talk page before making them. That will allow us to clarify what he wants to say, and to write it in good English before putting it on the page, making editing easier for everyone. Exploding Boy 22:12, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, there, both of you. Hoping I can get out of this without blocking anybody. ;) I'm still reading up on this (diffs and talk pages), but it seems like you're trying to contribute, and Exploding Boy is having problems with your writing style -- your English is quite good, really, better than I can manage in any of the few other languages I know, but it'll still be different from the sort of "professional" writing the rest of the encyclopedia will be using. If I'm understanding this correctly (I might not be), then it might be good if the two of you can work on changes at some other page, before putting them in at Stroke order -- a little proofreading can do a lot, in these situations. Say, Talk:Stroke order or Talk:Stroke order/temp or anything like that, could be a great sandbox. Great content can come from a lot of places; when I've worked with a few non-native speakers, I've found it helpful to see what they say, then rewrite some of it, just to add a little polish. I'm hoping that'll work, here. – Luna Santin (talk) 22:15, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I already have this : user:Yug/Stroke order. Yes, this need more spelling involvement from a native English speaker. But nobody came. After one week, I copy-pasted it into Stroke order. Yug (talk) 22:21, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, good. EB, does that work for you? – Luna Santin (talk) 22:23, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For my level of english, I know it is ...correctable. Correct one section of what I wrote need about 10 minutes.
I'm restoring the div, I you want block me, do so. Notice that I was not lead to this point without reason. Yug (talk) 22:21, 11 June 2007 (UTC) [I still encourage to block both of us 24 hours][reply]
*sigh* Alright, then. See you in 24 hours. Let's hope we can work this out, after that. – Luna Santin (talk) 22:32, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've been saying all along that discussing proposed changes on the talk page would be fine. Exploding Boy 22:35, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

75.0.146.196

Well done blocking the vandal IP User:75.0.146.196. Did you just look at WP:AIV or did you see the vandalism? NHRHS2010 Talk 20:03, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In that case, I was alerted by one of our trusty bots on IRC. Otherwise, I'm just milling about, and my laptop makes lots of noise when the "alarms" go off. ;) – Luna Santin (talk) 20:04, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for reverting the vandalism to my user page. ~Matticus TC 23:28, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You betcha. Gave them a second chance, but they kept up, so blocked. – Luna Santin (talk) 23:38, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have a fan

here --Steve (Stephen) talk 23:41, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would think in an ideal Wikipedia we could block these people and sweep them under the rug so that the target need never notice, I don't see what is gained by pointing them out. (H) 23:49, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
True, but it might be a line of persistent vandalism that the admin needs to be aware of. --Steve (Stephen) talk 23:53, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
True. (H) 23:54, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Was aware of the trend, when I left for some excercise. ;) Appreciate the sentiment, both of you. Not sure what the best course of action is, I could see it going either way. I tend not to notify people unless it seems pertinent, but I can see why it makes sense to do so. As an intermediate option, I suppose, there's always private email. But either way, thanks, again, both of you. – Luna Santin (talk) 01:24, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Anti Unblock Trolling Barnaster!

Given to Luna Santin, for tireless, immediate and perfectly done removing unblock trollings. Congratulations to you for all the wonderful coding, which makes all of our 'jobs' easier! Pro Game Master87 04:08, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, thanks! ;) I tend to watch CAT:RFU pretty often, so keeping it neat and clean is nice. Never sure what the Orange Banner of Death will bring, when I come online, but this was a nice one. Thanks, again. – Luna Santin (talk) 07:16, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Anyways, do you have another page to put your awards in?
Not currently. I did at one point, and might revive it at another date. If so, I'll be happy to add this one in there, again. – Luna Santin (talk) 07:37, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

For taking this infamous lie off my user page. I want to stress that I did not eat poop. ;-) Piet | Talk 07:46, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

protest!

I would like to say that, in accordance to the message you sent me about the "i-Mum" page, it is a real product about to launch sale in America. Thus, I do not consider it to be a "nonsense article"

Thankyou =)
