Trivia Section?

I believe someone should add a trivia section to this article. It could include information about her tattoos, piercings, and the information about her theme songs (her themes don't belong in an "other media" type category because they relate to wrestling). I think this might decrease the amount of vandalism and random additions by people who constantly add info about her tattoos, piercings, etc. What does everyone else think? Nikki311 02:26, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. I'm for it. If someone can gather enough info to begin the section, why not? --JohnDoe0007 10:32, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Playboy

Don't edit out her history with Playboy Enterprises, which was confirmed by both PEI & WWE. Regardless of your feelings it is a fact that she posed and like it or not is relevant to an encyclopedia article as part of her story. STFmaryville 03:50, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy dispute

The personal section is off the brink of breaking WP:LIVING requirements. It says that her family members are pro wrestlers, but supplies no wikilink to the wrestlers in question, or sources stating such. I deleted the crufty triva stuff. "She loves rock music" sounds like a fan biography. Wikipedia is not the place to have rumors, and the part about relationships is full of them. Also, without souces, I'm taking all her info about her boyfriends as made up. Please supply sources for them. --LBMixPro <Speak|on|it!> 23:38, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I DO recall Ashley stating shortly after appearing on WWE that she was related to some wrestlers (I had commented to my wife wondering if that had anything to do with her win) but I don't think she ever named the wrestlers in question and I cannot recall the date of the show airing ...

I supplied sources for a few things that were asking for references. :] 58.165.68.237 22:21, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Wellplease don't reference a fan site and then call it an official site, as you did with ashley-revealed.com . Clearly stated on the first page of that site, "I am not Ashley Massaro. We are no way affiliated with Ashely Massaro OR World Wrestling Entertainment. Ashley Revealed is just a fansite." STFmaryville 20:27, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't. There was a reference to Ashley Massaro's official site, ashleymassaro.net, in one part of the article, and another to Ashley Revealed.

Also, how is being on a magazine cover an accomplishment? It isn't. Otherwise alot of celebrities and wrestlers accomplishment sections would be full of them. Whoever keeps adding it, kindly don't. 58.165.77.47 23:03, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just because you don't consider it an accomplishment doesn't mean it isn't relevant. Listing that she was selected to be on the cover of one of the longest running and most popular publications in the world is relevant to an encyclopædic article. Yes, I'll concede, being a hood ornament for a hot rod on the cover of Lowrider isn't exactly noteworthy, but having a main spread and cover story in Playboy magazine is worth mentioning. That plus the large role her being featured has played in her professional wrestling career and the attention brought to the WWE because of it. --JohnDoe0007 11:15, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I see where the mix-up has taken place. When I put that as a reference, I didn't mean that Ashley Revealed itself was Ashley's official site (I know that ashleymassaro.net has that title), I meant that the biography USED ON Ashley Revealed was taken from Ashleymassaro.net... I couldn't link to said biography, however, because last time I checked, Ashleymassaro.net is under construction. So there's where the mix-up has taken place. 124.187.74.234 21:36, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Look

What's wrong with having this here? Massaro has three small tattoos of black asian lettering running vertically down her lower back and a small butterfly tattoo on her lower stomach/hip. She had two additional tattoos since entering WWE officially; two large nautical stars, one just above each elbow. She also has the upperside of her left lip pierced (called a Madonna/Monroe) and the left and right undersides of her bottom lip pierced (called a Snakebite). It's stuff that relates to her character and her own personality. Mr.bonus 00:02, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps putting it in a relevant section like suggested above... --JohnDoe0007 11:17, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's good information. Edge's page gets mention of his tattoos, and things like this are relevant because they aren't things that apply to every person who has a page on Wikipedia and so ought to be mentioned. This text holds extra information (that links to other subjects) - I didn't know what these types of piercing were called, or what a nautical star was, now I do. Playboy Cover

Fr3nZi3 (talk · contribs) removed the image illustrating Ashley's Playboy cover stating it's "not needed"...I feel that it's a valid addition to the article, as her covergirl status plays a big role not only in the article but in her WWE/professional career. What do you guys think? --JohnDoe0007 22:35, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Her notable covergirl status can be mentioned in the article only with text. We should be using unfree material only when highly necessary. There's a difference between a magazine issue being notable and it's cover being notable. We use a cover image only when the 2nd is true. --Abu badali (talk) 23:36, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What are you talking about? I've seen this guy's (Abu badali) edit history and he's a copyright paranoia sufferer. Take a look for yourself. Trevor GH5 01:44, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I looked over the copyright policies and this guy's got issues. Trevor GH5 01:54, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I put it back in with a fair use rational. This guy will probably try to have it deleted, that's his M.O. Pathetic. Trevor GH5 02:01, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your input as well as the fair use rational, Trevor. I am in agreement with you. There is no reason the image shouldn't be there. Of course: THERE IS NO FREE ALTERNATIVE. I appreciate the help. Please check out the Torrie Wilson page as well if you know much about wrestling...I would love to hear your thoughts on the changes being made there too. --JohnDoe0007 19:04, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You, or anyone else, who wants to keep the Playboy cover in the article needs to go to the image page and click on the link that says "Images and media for deletion" and comment there. Trevor GH5 23:32, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't someone upload a free-use pic of Massaro's Playboy celebration, focusing on the cover? If so, then that can possibly be used instead of the one we have now. --wL<speak·check> 02:59, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A good way to get a free-use image of the Playboy cover is for someone to take a picture of the actual magazine. You'd get a clearer view than any pictures taken from Massaro's Playboy Cover Unveiling. Does anybody have a copy and want to add a pic of the cover? Nikki311 03:56, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(resetting indents) - That will fail fair use, as the focus is still on the cover. --wL<speak·check> 06:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any shmuck can take a photo of a magazine cover...but how in the hell does that make it a "FREE USE" image? It's still a pic of a copyrighted piece of material. I don't care how many times you photograph it, even if it's a picture of a picture of a picture of the cover, it's still Playboy's cover. That's like suggesting as long as you go into the movie theater and video tape the movie yourself, you can release your video to the public domain and the whole damn film is now "free use." Absolutely asinine.

Now WikiLeon may be on to something with someone taking a live action photo of her in the ring and a picture of the cover "happens" to be in the background, but I still don't see how that would work. I don't care what you do, a Playboy cover is going to be owned by Playboy...THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE...it's completely fair use, especially for these purposes. and on top of that, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH FAIR USE? WHAT ARE ALL YOU PEOPLE AFRAID OF? --JohnDoe0007 06:38, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It could be all in that header under every article title: "From Wikipedia, The free encyclopedia" (notice where I linked the word "free"). It's not really a matter of paranoia or anyting like that, but the aim of Wikipedia (and the reason this site exists) is to be an encyclopedia that could be edited by anybody - including its images. Fair use doesn't allow that. The concept of fair use is very limited at the English Wikipedia (some other language ones don't even allow Fair Use whatsoever). If you read the first part of WP:FU it tells why we have fair use here, as well as why we don't allow some fair use. If you feel you have something to say about the fair use policy, it's best if you direct it to the policy's talk page. They'll give you a better understanding about it. As I said above, the emphasis is on the event, other than the cover, the picture will provide a visual analysis on how WWE celebrated Massaro's cover. --wL<speak·check> 06:54, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The picture has been kept

So there's no need to remove it anymore. Trevor GH5 12:07, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ashley on Survivor

Through a myspace bulletin and pwheadlines.com, Ashley will be appearing on the next season of Survivor. This explains her suspension from WWE. Lbkid1700 04:57, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say not to mention this in the article unless there are reports from WWE.com and CBS.com. - Deep Shadow 05:23, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Survivor and possible Release
