American Fork High School (AF High) is a public high school in American Fork, Utah. Its mascot is the Caveman, chosen as a tribute to Timpanogos Cave. Along with Carlsbad High School in New Mexico, and Grants Pass High School in Southern Oregon, they are the only schools in the United States using the mascot. The Cavemen currently play in Class 5A and Region IV. Their rivals are Lone Peak High School,Lehi High School and Pleasant Grove High School.

Football

AF High, despite having the second-longest athletics history in the state of Utah, has not won a football state championship since 1962. Coach Davis Knight is entering his 26th season at the school, compiling a 142-108-1 record as head coach. The team's upcoming schedule includes a visit from East Anchorage High School and a trip to Santa Ana, California. This season has been dedicated to the family of the 2006-'07 Student Body President Travis Landeen, who died in a car crash. They will also wear special helmet decals in honor of him.

Marching Band

AF High's marching band has a rich tradition of winning. Currently, it is ranked #2 in the western states and has gone undefeated in Utah for the past four years, and have been the state champions of Utah every year since 1990. They have been invited to such prestigious events as the Tournament of Roses Parade, President George W. Bush's inaugural parade, and Bands of America. In 2007, they will travel to New York City to participate in the Macy's Day Parade.

Drama Program

AF has a noteable drama program. They have won many awards at the Utah Shakespearian Festival. Some of their full-length production credits include: Beauty and the Beast, Children of Eden, Noises Off, Lucky Stiff, Urine Town, The Crucible, and will include Peter Pan, Taming of the Shrew, and Les Miserables at the end of the 2008 school year. The Department is currently directed by Mr. Neal Johnson, or J as his students call him.
