Hi Ariel, I'm just dropping you this note because I'm rather concerned about the way Dave has been behaving in relation to this article, which is in complete contrast to the way that you have been helping the editors to develop a good encyclopedic article. I was thinking of putting a friendly comment on his talk page reminding him about WP:BITE but I don't think he would take it the right way from me, because I get the feeling that he considers me to be an "enemy". I think there's a danger of discouraging a whole class of students from ever attempting to edit Wikipedia again.
Hi Phil, I think that at this point, since the AfD will most likely result in a Keep, for valid reasons, and although at first, I did not think it was a notable event, I guess I sort of like a challenge, and I was convinced by the teacher's explanations that the event was notable, so I set out to help him prove it, and to keep the article, after my initial reaction. I don't have a problem admitting I'm wrong, and while I'm neither an inclusionist, or an exclusionist, if an article deserves to stay, I'm happy to help fix issues so that an AfD will result in a keep opinion. Now, all that being said, not everyone probably sees things this way, and I agree that there was a bit of a harsh tone in some of the replies by Mayalld. I considered perhaps mentioning something on the AfD, but didn't feel it was appropriate, and instead, I chose to set out to help the article, rather than to do nothing. My personal feeling is, that at this point, they both seem to have disengaged, which is a good thing, and I would rather leave a note of apology to the teacher's talk page, and let the other issue drop. Perhaps Mayalld was having a bad day, we can't know, but while I agree that it was a bit bite-y, I'm not sure at this point, if saying anything would be helpful. I'm going to drop a note on the teacher's page though, because I do feel it is important for me to apologize for the way their "first day" went. While I didn't nominate it for CSD or for AfD, I also didn't initially think it a keepable article, and while I went about it differently, I still feel I should apologize on behalf of everyone, for how the teacher, and his students' first day went. I confess to being a little terse when it was apparent that User:Folk smith was claiming to have understood our policies whilst demonstrating that he hadn't. Yes, I did notice that, and I noticed the POINT issues, and left a note about it. I have a feeling that it is not always the teacher, but sometimes the students on the username, which is also an issue. Thank you for realizing that it is best to sometimes step back, I think that will be helpful in this situation. I am kind of at a loss as to why he would edit your userpage in the way he did (adding a userbox just to add a count of vandalism, lol) but, thank you for not getting upset, and instead, you reacted appropriately. I think we'll just have to continue to gently remind and direct to policies and guidelines, and hopefully these issues will not escalate. Thanks for being so understanding! So far I haven't found a design that is as "me" as this one, I've incorporated my own graphics into this design (the tabs were originally a really muted color scheme, so I redid them), so I'm not sure if I could find anything better, lol. Hahaha, cute, SQL :p I think that too many nominators is a bad idea, personally. I think one nominator is sufficient, and at most, one co-nominator. More than that, I personally don't think is necessary. Editors are free to add their reasons, for both supporting and opposing, with diffs and examples, and I think that is just as helpful to explain why one has the opinion they do. I started Adam Lasnik page because I saw reference to it in Search engine optimization page under sub title Search engine optimization. Sory I did not know you have to build a page in a sandbox first. Can you guve me a command for building a page in the sandbox. And what do I do once I finish with it, do I just move it? So I hope one doesn't already exist, because I have been playing with parser functions for a while now!!

Heheh, it looks like you have a few bugs to work out, when I click on the link next to "edit" I ended up editing your sandbox! lol I would suggest that you use something like this extremely sparingly, as not everyone likes their talk pages "decorated", so to speak. In fact, some editors have a note at the top stating they wish to not receive smilies, or RfA thanks, that sort of thing. I'm not sure that a template for them is really needed, honestly, as most editors would just create their own. This isn't to say you can't use them to learn parser functions, of course, and feel free to try them out on me, but don't be offended if I remove them lol. Ah, you clicked on the edit tab next to the title, that sends you to the template's edit page, that was a problem that was easy to sort out though, I added __NOEDITSECTION__ to the template page
And by doing that, you've removed all the edit sections from my page, or any page that the card is on, lol. And, the headers don't display as intended now, you should remove headers completely, have one card per page, don't make it NOEDITSECTION, because otherwise, it puts all cards on the page. Also, your style 1 was designed by me for my RfA thanks spam. While you're free to use it, I'd really prefer you not. I created that as a play on my name and my heart with my user page color scheme and would prefer it not be spammed all over WP by a bunch of people. Honestly Philip, as I said, I'm not sure it is needed. And, as Lara mentions, when using another editor's personal style, it is perhaps a good idea to talk to them first about it. While granted, everything here is GFDL, and free for all, it is just a nice courtesy. I would definitely not move it into template space, but if you want to leave it in your userspace to use for yourself, sure. Personally, I'd make it smaller, more discrete, less obtrusive, etc., and don't take that personally. While I think that the occasional card is nice, I also think that they are not something that should be used excessively. I think it is great that you're learning coding stuff this way, and again, feel free to practice here, it is a safe place :o) Ariel♥Gold17:28, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it would be an okay thing to have, but if you want to work on more coding stuff, make it so that the individuals can choose their own image, size, and color schemes, by setting an Image: and color numbers.
