Hi Ariel, I'm just dropping you this note because I'm rather concerned about the way Dave has been behaving in relation to this article, which is in complete contrast to the way that you have been helping the editors to develop a good encyclopedic article. I was thinking of putting a friendly comment on his talk page reminding him about WP:BITE but I don't think he would take it the right way from me, because I get the feeling that he considers me to be an "enemy". I think there's a danger of discouraging a whole class of students from ever attempting to edit Wikipedia again.
Hi Phil, I think that at this point, since the AfD will most likely result in a Keep, for valid reasons, and although at first, I did not think it was a notable event, I guess I sort of like a challenge, and I was convinced by the teacher's explanations that the event was notable, so I set out to help him prove it, and to keep the article, after my initial reaction. I don't have a problem admitting I'm wrong, and while I'm neither an inclusionist, or an exclusionist, if an article deserves to stay, I'm happy to help fix issues so that an AfD will result in a keep opinion. Now, all that being said, not everyone probably sees things this way, and I agree that there was a bit of a harsh tone in some of the replies by Mayalld. I considered perhaps mentioning something on the AfD, but didn't feel it was appropriate, and instead, I chose to set out to help the article, rather than to do nothing. My personal feeling is, that at this point, they both seem to have disengaged, which is a good thing, and I would rather leave a note of apology to the teacher's talk page, and let the other issue drop. Perhaps Mayalld was having a bad day, we can't know, but while I agree that it was a bit bite-y, I'm not sure at this point, if saying anything would be helpful. I'm going to drop a note on the teacher's page though, because I do feel it is important for me to apologize for the way their "first day" went. While I didn't nominate it for CSD or for AfD, I also didn't initially think it a keepable article, and while I went about it differently, I still feel I should apologize on behalf of everyone, for how the teacher, and his students' first day went. Hopefully they will not be put off by the experience. Of course, these are just my own personal opinions, Ariel♥Gold05:19, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to tell me when I overstep the mark. I confess to being a little terse when it was apparent that User:Folk smith was claiming to have understood our policies whilst demonstrating that he hadn't. However, I can recognise when continued engagement is futile, so I'll leave you to deal with his current WP:POINT episode (clearly he still hasn't understood the policies) I have reverted the following low-level vandalism to my user page, and issued a level 1 vandalism warning [1]Mayalld (talk) 13:38, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I did notice that, and I noticed the POINT issues, and left a note about it. I have a feeling that it is not always the teacher, but sometimes the students on the username, which is also an issue. Thank you for realizing that it is best to sometimes step back, I think that will be helpful in this situation. I am kind of at a loss as to why he would edit your userpage in the way he did (adding a userbox just to add a count of vandalism, lol) but, thank you for not getting upset, and instead, you reacted appropriately. I think we'll just have to continue to gently remind and direct to policies and guidelines, and hopefully these issues will not escalate. Thanks for being so understanding! RfA nomination
Qst would like to nominate you to become an administrator. Please visit Wikipedia:Requests for adminship to see what this process entails, and then contact Qst to accept or decline the nomination. A page has been created for your nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/ArielGold. If you accept the nomination, you must formally state and sign your acceptance and answer the questions on that page. Once you have answered the questions, you may post your nomination for discussion, or request that your nominator do so.
LOL! Thanks for not creating it yet. I do very much appreciate both of you for your encouragement, and I know, I know, I'm a big procrastinator, lol. I really will get around to it, eventually! Seriously! Phaedriel was going to be my nominator, and I'm still hoping that she'll return to do it. ~*Ariel crosses her fingers*~ I do, seriously, appreciate the confidence in me everyone has shown, and it means a lot, more than I can probably express. I will be sure to put something on my talk page when I do make a decision, so those who may be interested can see it. Thank you, dear QST. Ariel♥Gold18:17, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
~*Giggle*~ Thanks, just one of the very many inspired by my good friend Phaedriel. I've had the urge to completely re-design it lately, but so far, I'm resisting the urge, lol. Ariel♥Gold09:10, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LOL! So far I haven't found a design that is as "me" as this one, I've incorporated my own graphics into this design (the tabs were originally a really muted color scheme, so I redid them), so I'm not sure if I could find anything better, lol. Doesn't mean you can't steal parts of it though Ariel♥Gold06:01, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, what an awesome picture, Chandra, and Hubble just never seem to amaze me, and the images they get are simply awe-inspiring. Thanks Shir-El! And I hope you are having a fantastic day! Ariel♥Gold06:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Aw shucks Ma'm: thought Ah could sneak that thar one by ya. I put you down as my Mentor on my userpage: "I won't start anything, Sheriff, lessen I tell you first!" Have a Wonderful Weekend, ♥, Shir-El too (talk) 14:11, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Ariel :) First of all, Happy Thanksgiving! Now, I'm afraid I bring some unpleasant news—remember this? Well, it's happened again, now over at the Portuguese Wikipedia. I've asked for a block, and will ask a bureaucrat to rename the account so you can register. Best wishes, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 23:35, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ugh, I did work my way down the list of sister sites, but after making about 30 accounts, I took a break, and I guess I didn't get to Portuguese WP. Thank you for noticing it, and for taking care of the request to rename, as I don't know the language. I really appreciate you letting me know, and if you would let them know I'm over here, when it is renamed I'll go and make the name. Thank you so much, Ariel♥Gold05:58, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
~*Giggle*~ Hi Lara! Well, I think it has been mentioned lately. I was waiting for my dear friend, Phaedriel, who was to be my nominator. Unfortunately, I may have to decide to proceed without her. I will have to start thinking about it more seriously I guess. Ariel♥Gold06:49, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, she has not edited on any project since the end of September, and I have not heard from her via email in over a month. I would not say she is retired, but it does appear she's on a break, and I am not sure when she would be available to do the nomination. Ariel♥Gold07:04, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Must be busy with the job promotion. Well, if you are interested, there are plenty of people willing to nom, I'm sure. I'm one of them. Just let me know. Lara❤Love07:10, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hahaha, cute, SQL :p I think that too many nominators is a bad idea, personally. I think one nominator is sufficient, and at most, one co-nominator. More than that, I personally don't think is necessary. Editors are free to add their reasons, for both supporting and opposing, with diffs and examples, and I think that is just as helpful to explain why one has the opinion they do. I'll have to talk to a couple of people. Some of them may be away for the holidays, so we'll see. Ariel♥Gold07:33, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Do you remember which one? It is possible it was an imposter, there have been a few imposters created in the last day with names of known editors here. Ariel♥Gold14:02, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh god... that is too cute! lol. Poor SQLBot, I hope I don't hurt her feelings, but I really am going to have to talk to a couple people who have asked to nom, I think it is only fair, as I did promise them that I'd talk to them first. ~*Ariel tickles the bot*~ She's so cute, though! Ariel♥Gold08:27, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Such a cute, persistent bot! We have to just love her! :) But, I explained via email to your owner, why I really feel I need to decline for now, it is something I have promised to talk to others about. I'm so very sorry, I know that you had only the best of intentions, and I appreciate your confidence (and your owner's confidence) in me, I truly do. I hope that you understand, Girl-Bot to Girl-Editor. ~*Hugs*~ Ariel♥Gold08:37, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay. I took a screenshot of it for my photo album! ~*Grin*~ Hug the bot for me, she's wonderful to offer her insight and nominate me. Ariel♥Gold08:52, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I started Adam Lasnik page because I saw reference to it in Search engine optimization page under sub title Search engine optimization. Sory I did not know you have to build a page in a sandbox first. Can you guve me a command for building a page in the sandbox. And what do I do once I finish with it, do I just move it? Also is it okay to build Adm Lasnik page, or there is a block request to Wikipedia by Adam Lasnik not to have his page? Thank you, Igor Berger (talk) 14:11, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not at all a problem dear, you know I have your page watchlisted. And it got them off of you, and on to me today, so no worries at all! ~*Hugs*~ Ariel♥Gold18:28, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Darn! I lost a spot! lol. What a silly thing, isn't that? A few weeks ago it was showing this page at 45,000+ views per day. I'm not sure how that chart gets its stats, but I would bet that Jimbo gets far more views than me, or some archive, lol. Still something to laugh about. Ariel♥Gold05:51, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! about cards...
Hi Ariel, I keep seeing cards on users talk pages every where, e.g. thanks for supporting my RfA sorta thing, and I thought wouldn't it be great to have a template for that sort-of thing,
So I hope one doesn't already exist, because I have been playing with parser functions for a while now!!
Neway heres some examples:
Click there to open your (cute) mini card! → → →
~ This user hasn't included a message so have a hug from PhilB ~
Heheh, it looks like you have a few bugs to work out, when I click on the link next to "edit" I ended up editing your sandbox! lol I would suggest that you use something like this extremely sparingly, as not everyone likes their talk pages "decorated", so to speak. In fact, some editors have a note at the top stating they wish to not receive smilies, or RfA thanks, that sort of thing. I'm not sure that a template for them is really needed, honestly, as most editors would just create their own. This isn't to say you can't use them to learn parser functions, of course, and feel free to try them out on me, but don't be offended if I remove them lol. Ariel♥Gold17:09, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, you clicked on the edit tab next to the title, that sends you to the template's edit page, that was a problem that was easy to sort out though, I added __NOEDITSECTION__ to the template page
And by doing that, you've removed all the edit sections from my page, or any page that the card is on, lol. And, the headers don't display as intended now, you should remove headers completely, have one card per page, don't make it NOEDITSECTION, because otherwise, it puts all cards on the page. Users can add their own headers. Templates should never force a section header, IMO. Ariel♥Gold17:16, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, your style 1 was designed by me for my RfA thanks spam. While you're free to use it, I'd really prefer you not. I created that as a play on my name and my heart with my user page color scheme and would prefer it not be spammed all over WP by a bunch of people. At least not in the exact color format I created it in. Some distinction would be preferred. Thanks for your consideration. Lara❤Love17:25, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly Philip, as I said, I'm not sure it is needed. And, as Lara mentions, when using another editor's personal style, it is perhaps a good idea to talk to them first about it. While granted, everything here is GFDL, and free for all, it is just a nice courtesy. I would definitely not move it into template space, but if you want to leave it in your userspace to use for yourself, sure. Personally, I'd make it smaller, more discrete, less obtrusive, etc., and don't take that personally. While I think that the occasional card is nice, I also think that they are not something that should be used excessively. I think it is great that you're learning coding stuff this way, and again, feel free to practice here, it is a safe place :o) Ariel♥Gold17:28, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah sorry LaraLove, I should have probably asked the people I addapted the designs off... I will go do that now PhilB ~ T/C
Is it okay if I change the image, but keep the colour scheme? P.s. what do you think of the idea? pps i wasn't planning on moving it template namespace, it would be used tooo much (understatement) —Preceding unsigned comment added by PhilipBembridge (talk • contribs) 17:32, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think that it would be an okay thing to have, but if you want to work on more coding stuff, make it so that the individuals can choose their own image, size, and color schemes, by setting an Image: and color numbers. That'd be a bit of coding challenge for you! ~*Giggle*~ Ariel♥Gold17:42, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now that newest version I like much, much better! Small, unobtrusive, very nice. Still something I'd use sparingly, but much nicer for a general purpose "card" of sorts! Ariel♥Gold17:43, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Its now a lot smaller and I found a different image, p.s. could I use this image Ariel? i know that you use it. Neway, i will be a while now, off for my tea XD PhilB ~ T/C17:44, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
