Porto Canal (Oporto Channel) is a metropolitan television station for Greater Porto, Portugal based in Matosinhos. Launched on September 29 2006, it is the third regional network launched in the region, but only another network is on air, due to the transformation of former NTV (from Porto TV, based in Vila Nova de Gaia) into RTPN, Radiotelevisão Portuguesa's news channel, but unlike NTV, Porto Canal only focus on the 14 municipalities of Porto Metropolitan area and not all the northern part of the country. Porto Canal is only available in the cable and satellite package of TV Cabo.
