Suspected to be one of those evil sodomites.

A message left on this talk page by a Christian fan of my work: "You sodomites really know how to stick together....yech !!!! I never met one who was not significantly emotionally disturbed. Oh, they can function and prosper in society but when the center of your life is your perverted sex you are emotionally disturbed and after looking at your user page are no different. People like you should and someday will be destroyed. It will be a glorious day. BTW i rotate ip addresses about every 2-3 days........Keep on Suckin'

ps. have you ever thought about putting a gun to your head and giving your life to jesus? i know i could not go through life day to day looking in the mirror at that vile degenerate looking back at me." - 97.88.222.103

So much for this.

I hope all of you sodomites decide that maybe Christians are right and that all we need is some church in our wicked lives.

Praise Jeebus!!!

Wisdom

A wise person once told me, "If you ever get the sudden urge to run around naked, you should drink some Windex first. It'll keep you from streaking." Always remember this. - ALLSTAR echo 20:41, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You know what I loves even more? This. You can have him, but I want DC Chandler...the tall one. (APK is a tall glass of water and prefers the same) I "met" DC Chandler several times at Ziegfeld's back in the day. I got him and Johnny Hazzard to sign my copy of Detention and um, I'll tell you the rest of the story when you get older. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 10:24, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This looks like a personal attack to me. Please be more cautious in the future. Dreadstar 20:33, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe I shouldn't have used that word, but it's obvious the guy is trolling on ASE's page because of the new userbox that he doesn't like. He doesn't seem to have a problem with the other userbox that actually uses the BSA logo and talks about not wanting to be associated with the organization. I find that hypocritical. He's on a mission to somehow prove that he's right and doesn't want any mention of the BSA's homophobic policies, even thought ASE's new userbox does not mention the BSA at all or use their logo. Other admins have mentioned they think it's ok the way it is. But that doesn't seem to be enough for him. After you left this same kind of comment on Justinm1978's page, he said "I shouldn't be stooping down to the same level." IMHO, that's B.S. He has been going after ASE for a few days now and is determined to get his way and leaving comments suggesting we're illiterate and suggesting that ASE is not willing to collaborate even though he has created the new userbox that is very neutral. I also find this hypocritical. I hope you and other admins can see that and I also hope your judgment is not swayed because you seem to agree with him. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 21:00, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed--particularly on the points re the new userbox and User:Justinm1978's own personal attack: "Again, reading is FUNdamental, and it's apparently a skill that you are lacking." Rachel Summers (talk) 21:15, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's funny.. when he came out, the media and public was like "no way!". He's from Mississippi and most of us in the gay community here already knew it (and had most likely already had some 'o Sir Lancelot at 3am on a Sunday morning). He was a regular at the bars in New Orleans (2 hours away) cause he figured he could get away with it there. He forgot that most Mississippi queens went to the New Orleans bars too. PS: he's hung, so I have heard. lol - ALLSTAR echo 22:11, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Loves it

There has been quite alot of activity on the Sally Kern article...enough that it's now been semi-protected. On the talk page, someone added a link to this clip from Ellen. People have been trying to add that her son is gay, but are using sources that Perez used, so yeah, hard to believe but those aren't reliable. I still love the clip though. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 19:21, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone know how a user talk page doesn't have the edit button to leave a message? The user posted on the Sally Kern article and I was going to explain to him/her that it's not a RS. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 21:40, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's protected...click on "view source", then "protection log". Rachel Summers (talk) 21:44, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh, ok. thanks. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:47, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't loves it

Well, that sucks, and not in a good way. I've seen ASE and other have those medals, but APK is not "entitled" to this one because he does have at least 4000 edits, but hasn't been on WP for a year. Hell, I can't even display this even though the requirement for edits is only 1000 but it requires 3 months "service." I've only been editing for 2 months. I'm being disenfranchised!! Where's my lawya! Those requirements need to be tweaked, no? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 04:25, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Theist/atheist?

I just noticed that your text says you're a theist, but you're in Category:Atheist Wikipedians. (I have no problem with the combination of agnostic with either of those terms, as you can probably guess from my userpage, so that's not my question.)

Hmmm, how did I get on that list? Yeah, I'm an agnostic theist (an oxy to some). I'd rather be listed in the Category:Agnostic Wikipedians. Lemme figure out how to switch it. I tried editing the page to add my name, but that doesn't seem to be the way to do it. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:36, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see my name on the atheist list anymore. Did you remove it? How do I add my name to the agnostic list? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:37, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
One of your userboxes must put you in it. Maybe the one that says you'd rather there were no religion? You are in the atheist cat under U (for User:Agn...) You can see your name in the list here. You can either add [[Category:Agnostic Wikipedians]] to your userpage to put yourself in that category, or you can use one of the agnostic userboxes, like the one I have on my page. Aleta Sing 23:44, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, actually you already are in that cat! Aleta Sing 23:46, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was looking under 'A' but yeah, I see it now. I removed a userbox and that seemed to fix it. Thanks for pointing that one out to me. I didn't even know those categories existed. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:50, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! I was just wondering about the discrepancy. :) Aleta Sing 23:53, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I also fixed the userbox {{User agnostic}} so if people use it, it will automatically place them in Category:Agnostic Wikipedians. - ALLSTAR echo 23:54, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hah, I thought it already did! Aleta Sing 23:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm so confused.... And I still don't know what an agnostic theist is, never mind an atheist theist, or a deist or any of the other possible combinations and permutations. <goes away for a moment to ask god what up with dis> Can't I just use God's name in vain without worrying about which theological or philosophical ...ism I'm profaning or upsetting? — Becksguy (talk) 00:21, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, I believe in some kind of Supreme Being, maybe not the definition of God that Christians believe in, but I think the details of our bodies, animals, plants, earth and everything else is way too complicated and intricate to be explained by some Big Bang explosion or an "accident." But, I also believe there is no proof of a Supreme Being, and there never will be. It's all about faith and what you believe. It takes faith to believe in evolution, just as it does creationism. So basically, I believe in a God, but admit there's no proof. Make sense...kinda? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 00:48, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I transcluded it to Wikipedia:Requests for adminship. Ya missed that step. They would have removed it totally. Now, as for this RfA. I totally support it, because of the quality of your edits and your demeanor on Wikipedia. I don't think I've once seen you get cross with anyone, edit war, etc. But I do want to prep you.. your total edit count is 7547. That will bring a lot of people who will give you praise but still oppose you because of "experience". Unfortunately, that's been the case in almost all RfA's I have seen. So just do your best to answer any questions posed and to drive home quality over quantity. :] Good luck Aleta! You deserve it! - ALLSTAR echo 04:00, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that's my first time nominating someone so I didn't know what all was involved. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 04:02, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Allstar, I appreciate both the support and the warning! :) Aleta Sing 04:05, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
haha the "quantity over quality" folks hit I guess while I was here prepping you. Didn't take long. - ALLSTAR echo 04:07, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, although it is interesting to see specifically what they're saying I lack. Aleta Sing 04:33, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
7500 non-anti-vandalism edits is a lot. The only time somebody MIGHT say that's not a lot in an RfA is if the person in question was strictly a vandal fighter using a bot. I would also not be surprised if Wisdom doesn't change his oppose to support.Balloonman (talk) 08:01, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies...

You are completely right, I was out of line... I was just so not expecting to see somebody of her caliber. When I saw the nom, I thought, it was another one of the all too often friend nominating friend RfA's---and I let that first impression overwhelm my support for Aleta without thinking about how it sounded to you. My apologies. Balloonman (talk) 07:47, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's ok. I guess admins see alot of the kind of nominations you mentioned and that was your first instinct. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 07:49, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said in my support, this was probably the easiest support I've ever had for somebody I didn't know previously. Unless somebody digs up something, I fully expect this RfA to pass.Balloonman (talk) 07:57, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kudos on Raleigh landmark pages!

When I created the Category:Buildings and structures in Raleigh, North Carolina category last week, I hoped it would soon blossom. I'm glad to see you're on the case, APK. Excellent work on your Joel Lane House, Mordecai House, and other great entries! You're one reason Wikipedia rocks! Mark Turner Jmturner (talk) 17:57, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the compliment. I've got a whole list of buildings I'm working on for the historic places in Wake County, so I'll be adding more in the near future. I'll have at least 2 more added by tomorrow. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 18:40, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've created the 2 articles I mentioned and added quite a few articles to the list. Are you wanting to count schools such as Ravenscroft School on that list or does it need to be a specific building since that schools has multiple buildings? Side note: I use to live a stone's throw away from that school. I miss Wake County. APK is thinking about moving back there. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 10:36, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think schools in general would be right for the list unless they have architectural or historical significance, but I'm open to debate on that. Murphey School, as Raleigh's first integrated school, could use a page. Needham B. Broughton High School has one but it is in desperate need of cleaning up. As for other places, I'd like to see Pullen House get a page. It's not on the NRHP but is significant to me, anyway.
You've got the content part covered for most of thes and its much appreciated! If you've got a list of needs, I'd be happy to snap some public domain photos of these landmarks. Spring is beginning to bloom here and its getting to be good photography weather! Jmturner (talk) 14:47, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I need a picture of the new Raleigh Convention Center, if you get a chance. You mentioned historical schools. I'm going to write an article sometime in the next day or so for St. Mary's School (Raleigh), although it's listed as St. Mary's College on the National Register. I'm not sure if I should title it school or college. Do you know of some websites where I could get info to write about the Pullen House? I'm not seeing too much info at first glance. Raleigh Pronunciation

I notice you reverted my edit to change the pronunciation listed for Raleigh from "ral-ee" to "rhymes with trolley" and marked it as vandalism. I'm curious as to why. I'm born and raised in Durham and I've only heard "ral-ee" a few times from Canadians or Americans living in the upper midwest. 66.57.252.97 (talk) 22:47, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I mistakenly marked it as vandalism because at the time, I was reverting vandalization on several articles and when I saw that edit from an IP it appeared to be a nonsense edit. Although it's not vandalism, I don't think adding "rhymes with trolley" is the best pronunciation to add. Also, I lived in NC most of my life and I'm not sure I see the problem with the current pronunciation. It appears to be the correct way to say it. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 23:42, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, I don't think it's that important in the long run; but do you really think "ral-ee" (which I'm interpreting as "rally") is correct? That's like pronouncing Garner "gare-ner"... 66.57.252.97 (talk) 00:04, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm interpreting it as "Rall-ee", so I'll add the extra L to clarify. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 01:32, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, adding the extra L really would make it sound like 'rally' so I'll leave the pronunciation as is. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 01:42, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe someone who knows IPA could add that as an unambiguous solution. Aleta Sing 01:43, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This says rali. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 01:58, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, good find! (In the article, it looks like there's an extra symbol in the IPA compared to the wiktionary entry...?) Aleta Sing 02:07, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I changed it. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:16, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators' noticeboard

Sorry AgnosticPreachersKid, but not this kind of user behavior. The WP:AIN is supposed to report on abnormal user behavior such as evasion of blocks, abuse of admin tools, persistent vandalism, persistent spamming. Again, these pages are not the place to raise disputes over content, or reports of abusive behavior. Please take such disputes to requests for comment, requests for mediation, or requests for arbitration rather than in the WP:AIN. And please, be communicative, You just left a message to SatyrTN. Cheers. --Mhsb (talk) 02:40, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I'm very communicative, hence the number of edits I've left on talk pages. You left the message on Satyr's page, and so I responded there. There's no need to leave another message on your talk page to respond to a question on his page. If you know how WP works so well, then you would know that. Also you're telling me to "please take such disputes..." You're talking to the wrong person. I'm not the one that posted anything at AIN. All I did was state that you're incorrect when you said "reporting abusive behavior" does not belong in AIN, because that's exactly where it goes. I wasn't referring to your case, I meant in general. So please get your facts straight. All you did was copy and paste the response you left on other talk pages onto mine without checking to see if it actually applied to me. Last thing, you're wrong about the incident not belonging on AIN, see this for details. Cheers. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 04:28, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NC articles

I hope the NC project realizes what they have in you. You've really been cranking on those articles! Aleta Sing 05:27, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. :-) I don't know if that project was more active at some point, but since I started editing, I haven't seen any type of communication or activity going on in the project. The only project member I've ever spoken to is Jayron32 (on second thought, he's not a member, just watches over some NC articles since he lives in Raleigh). I've been rating alot of articles for the project since it appears no one took the time to do that. I just add my new articles to the project list in hopes of someone that still watches the page will see and look over my articles for possible errors. I didn't get one of those cute Welcome banners or even a Hi when I joined. I guess I was spoiled by the LGBT project and the welcome I received. I have about 100 articles in my mind that need to be created. I just wish I had enough time and energy to create them all. I've still got to tweak the Raleigh article and some of the town articles in Wake County. I added alot of stuff (crap?) to most of the town articles already, but I need to go back over them with a fine comb. Also, there are soooo many articles that need overall maintenance, including my first article. AHHHHHHH! Am I the only person that feels torn about what Wikitask to do next? (I'm soooo not trying to come off as bragging, but I feel like I'm one of the few people doing anything on the NC articles, and god knows there are alot of them that need work.) Have you been nominating any of these articles you're creating for Did you know...'? That Lightner one you just wrote would be a great candidate for it, I'd think. Aleta Sing 05:46, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, I haven't nominated any of them but I was reading about the qualifications yesterday. I thought the same thing about Clarence Lightner, but I need a picture and maybe some more info for it to be long enough. I just e-mailed his Foundation to ask them to upload a picture. What else do you think needs to be done for it to be eligible for DYK? Right now, I think a good line would be "Did you know that Clarence Lightner was the first African-American mayor of a metropolitan Southern United States city?" or something like that. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 05:49, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looking through the requirements, it doesn't appear that it has to have a picture, although if you can get one, that would definitely improve the article. You've referenced a lot of it inline; if you could put some more inline refs, that might help... I haven't done it, so I don't know exactly what they look for in picking them. Something else that would be good to add, although I don't know if it makes any difference for DYK is an infobox, maybe a succession box for Raleigh mayors as well. Aleta Sing 06:03, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Lemme figure out how to make one of those. I made one for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurant Group, but I'm not sure if they have one for mayors (although I guess a regular politican infobox would work). What do you mean by more inline refs? Me be confused. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just mean footnotes. It's late, and I'm tired. Aleta Sing 06:14, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
ha. zzzzzz. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's a crappy comment to leave. What the crap is up with that crap you mothercrapper. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:24, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've been playing Super Smash Brothers Brawl and might just lay down a super smash attack on you for talking like that! - ALLSTAR echo 06:28, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've been playing spades (I'm a beast at playing that game) and the coolest game ever, Boggle. I'm rated as 'Expert' on that game. Don't be jealous. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 06:43, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did not vandalize the WBC page

There was a name conflict, I created a disambig page. I changed no information. Everything is on the Westboro Baptist Church (Topeka, KS, USA) including discussions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Geo8rge (talkcontribs) 06:53, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at the LGBT watchlist and saw over -63,000 on that article, so it appeared to be someone removing content. But I don't think there needs to be a disambiguation page because the church in Canada is not well-known, the link you added is just a page that says "not affiliated..." and the Westboro church in Kansas is the one people will be searching for. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 07:00, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I put a speedy delete template on the other article because there doesn't need to be a disambiguation IMO. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 07:03, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looks ok on my screen. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 09:59, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Like the caption on my new pic? AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 10:01, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah and it just goes to show how a different angle can make you shaggable. That pic got me moist and meaty. :P - ALLSTAR echo 10:10, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Shaggable? Yeah, baby yeah! AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 10:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Awwww! You look so young, such a babyface... *pinches cheek* Rachel Summers (talk) 10:24, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am young, I'm 17. I've lied about my age. Now you, ASE, Jay*Jay and others will be arrested for inappropriate cyber-pinching and innuendos. ;-) I kid, I kid. Pinch away! (and not just my facial cheeks) AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 10:27, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Bad Brent! Bad!! Someone needs to take you over their knee and teach you a lesson. :P Jay*Jay (talk) 03:21, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Excellent article, crisp and factual. I think it would be good for DYK, but have not nominated anything for that myself. Good luck! --Parkwells (talk) 12:05, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks! AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 12:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Question on firsts - I'd suggest going back to the original sources (rather than wikipedia) to check dates. Who knows, maybe they are counting the election dates, rather than when people took office, or maybe Atlanta overlooked Raleigh's first. The dates should establish it. Also, I've added more historical perspective - Lightner came of age when most blacks in the SOuth were disfranchised, and was of the first generation to be elected to political office after the Voting Rights Act. I think it's worth mentioning.--Parkwells (talk) 12:43, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I saw those additions. I wikified the Voting Rights Act and disfranchisement. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 12:46, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comment. I didn't actually take that picture, I cheated and found it on the Cary, North Carolina page ;) If I get a chance I will take a picture of the convention center, but I don't go through downtown Raleigh very often so it might be a while. --Fromnc (talk) 12:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • (smacks himself in the head) Duh, I totally forgot it was on the Cary page. ha. That's fine about the Convention Center pic, just if you ever get a chance. Hopefully I'll talk to someone on here soon that goes by that area frequently. I know of a few Raleighites on WP. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 12:19, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unexpected encounters

You never know who you might run into on the Metro. Today, I saw Howard Dean at the L'Enfant Plaza station. Short man (to me at least, I'm 6'4" without my shoes) and was talking on his cell. (Verizon has access down in the subway caves) Until I meet Lucifer, I'm not going to be satisfied. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 16:45, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! LOL I just saw where Lucifer points. Aleta Sing 16:52, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know who looks the dumbest in this clip. Rove, David Gregory or the guy on the far right. It's a tough one. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 17:15, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How ironic

How ironic Waterboy's comment given the question I was just answering on the RfA page. Aleta Sing 02:45, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking the same thing. He's now blocked indefinitely. AgnosticPreachersKid (talk) 02:45, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that. Thanks for reverting him and reporting it. Aleta Sing 02:49, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
