So I did read a certain comment on a certain users' talk page...

What do you think of this? Could you press edit on the link given in this message, please (the "this", once you get to the page)? Basketball110 02:43, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did you do as the instructions said (instructions on this page)? Basketball110 02:46, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
At the top of the page, after "User page," and "discussion." Basketball110 02:48, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
<cough, cough> Basketball110 02:54, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Still more... I "archived" a bit. Basketball110 02:57, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Idea: watch the page, so I can delete the link. Basketball110 03:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Would you continue watching that page, please? I may need "help" w/ the userbox later. Basketball110 03:08, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I have one concern to express there, about something... would you advert your attention there for just a quick second? Basketball110 03:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, it is... do have that (noun, it is)? Basketball110 03:23, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Click on the right buttons, and a complete stranger to Wikipedia could find it. Basketball110 04:02, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You don't know how to do what? Basketball110 04:19, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Move the userbox page? Basketball110 04:46, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll see what I can do. About the archiving, all inactive discussions 4 days old are automatically archived, but I plan on getting rid of a few here and there soon. Basketball110 05:05, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's unneccessary, but if you still have it in your watchlist, replace it with User:Basketball110/Ageism. I've moved it. It addresses more ageism than maturity. Basketball110 05:08, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. You're 4th in mine, as I said, behind the Triple M's (Milk's Favorite Cookie, Maximillion Pegasus, and Master of Puppets). Basketball110 05:10, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think, just to remove the personal info, I am going to delete the page, and create another one, with a few changes. Basketball110 05:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll work on that tommorrow. I'm going to bed now, right after I create the other page. Basketball110 05:13, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did... on both. Well, it'll be at User:Basketball110/Age on Wikipedia. Talk somemore tommorrow. Basketball110 05:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

10 maybe. Basketball110 05:16, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Er, I'm sorry to interrupt, but could you please let this go? I'm not at all ageist; and if it sounded that way, please accept my humblest apologies. I understand if you want the userbox, but the snide references to me are a bit too much. Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 16:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are you talking about the userbox? You have little to do with that. Basketball110 16:27, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No; the userbox is fine; I endorse the userbox. It's just that you seem to... well, before it was edited, there was a reference to me as ageist in there, and I was a bit annoyed by it. Or did you mean something else by putting it there? If so, sorry for interrupting. Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 16:34, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That was a reference to what he said, not you. I didn't (or didn't mean to) call you an "ageist." Basketball110 16:36, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still confused, but I think I might understand. Sorry for the interruption and all. Nousernamesleftcopper, not wood 16:39, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's okay. If you need any more clarification, just say so! Basketball110 16:40, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(reply for RyRy5) It is your talk page, and it would seem that you would get an orange bar everytime one of us has something to say, so I guess I do know... Basketball110 16:42, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hello

Hi. Removing personal info from a page merely by "editing it out" doesn't really get rid of it— it is still readily visible in the page's hist. You'll need someone with WP:OVERSIGHT ability to actually and truly delete it. BTW, if you wanna be an admin, you really should enable your email. Cheers! Ling.Nut (talk) 03:24, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To permanently remove your personal info from someone's talk page, see Wikipedia:Requests for oversight. Ling.Nut (talk) 03:29, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Correct me if I'm wrong but enabling your e-mail really shouldn't be an issue in an RfA. Kimu 04:37, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Test

I left a note on your test talk page, and I was wondering if I would be able to take the test. That would be great, you don't have to adopt me, it just would be good to take the test to see how I am traveling. Do you want to discuss anything? Novels, music, books, etc? Thanks man, Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 05:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Books are what I know, I am doing my masters in English language, next year I am transfering to Harvard to do my doctorate, I wanted to discuss somewthing that I was comfortable with with someone who I assume knows what they are doing. I could teach writing at your adoption school, unless of course that post is taken, I read your editor review, you seem like a great editor, one who is worthy of respect. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 05:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't have said it had I not meant it, what about my teaching role, it could be helpful to your school. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 05:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
ABout 550 since saturday or sunday when I joined. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 05:56, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ALright, I'll talk to you in a week, I am not done on that test yet. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 06:08, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done, you can mark it now, I will wait in trepidation. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 06:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry it took so long, I went away. How've ya been? Congrats on hitting so many edits! Burner0718 JibbaJabba! 05:29, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

How can I find vandalism? It seems like there is a fast or easy way to search pages for vandalism since people can get so many edits. I want to start getting a bunch of edits under my belt :-D

And about the signature, I'm not sure what I want it to look like right now, I'm mainly just wondering =P Axecution (talk) 07:24, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do Not Miss Todays Lesson!

Teacher Triple 4, at your service Principal RyRy5. Check out the lesson I took. Nothing444 12:10, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't I just start a new section?

Yes, it has. It's been replaced with User:Basketball110/Age on Wikipedia. Basketball110 16:44, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Click on history, and you'll see that it's only one edit. Basketball110 16:45, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What I do, is click Random article and try to make an edit to each page I come across. Good luck! Basketball110 16:49, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I moved the alliance. Basketball110 17:37, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you don't mind me stealing your idea. I would've created a template of my own, but I noticed that I had 8900 edits, and had to do something about it. Basketball110 17:45, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No. Actually, I know little about them. They are hosted by Zack Black, right? Basketball110 17:59, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I must look really stupid! Anyway, I watch Nick@Nite once in a while, but rarely watch Nickolodeon. I watch TV Land (even though it's more for baby-boomers), TCM (I like movies), and the news. Dull, right? Basketball110 18:06, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. As of this edit, I have 8925, meaning that if I get 75 more, I'll have 9000 edits! Time flys! Basketball110 18:27, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But what if I get internet access in Romania? I'll already have it in England, but we may take a laptop... we'll see. Basketball110 18:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It should be, if it's in mainspace. Basketball110 18:50, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, what do you mean by this? Basketball110 18:52, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Do you mind if I look over the tests and see if I could make improvments? Basketball110 18:55, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

Yep, that's a good answer. - Philippe | Talk 16:46, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Adoption

I do appreciate the idea to help new users, in adopting them for example. It's just that I think that you are not ready for that yet. But you're not a newcomer anymore and I haven't bite you, you have asked for people to comment, remember ? I think that you take it the wrong way, if I said what I said, it was because I think that it could help. I think too that they are things going on that, maybe, are not that useful for the project. But it's just my opinion, I don't want to bother you with that. I would appreciate however, that you take the advices of other people and try to edit with more consideration, and particularly, verify the assertions in your comments. CenariumTalk 17:16, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Super smash bros mojo has been hacked has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. J Milburn (talk) 17:56, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry, that's the the software I'm using. J Milburn (talk) 18:00, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, which means you created the redirect, which is why NPW contacted you. I wouldn't bother moving that sort of rubbish in future- just tag it as needing speedy deletion and let it die. J Milburn (talk) 18:05, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again- I removed your speedy notice from this article because fictional characters are not speediable under A7. I've prodded it instead. J Milburn (talk) 18:14, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Our Cabals

Wow! That whole thing with the cabals really happened overnight. Glad to hear they're still around, and that people still support them and understand they have a purpose. In a way, I'm kind of glad that happened because now we have proof that they can't be deleted. Take Care :) - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 18:29, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, also let me know if you need any more teachers in your adoption program. - DiligentTerrier (and friends) 18:31, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No bots

I actually am unfamiliar with that. What system do you plan on running your bot with (AWB, pywikipedia, etc.)?   jj137 (talk) 18:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AWB is probably easier, but pywikipedia is fine as well. Both systems will automatically ignore pages with {{nobots}}; it would be easier to have an opt-out list for each WikiProject, and you can manually remove those names from the list.   jj137 (talk) 19:02, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I guess you could put the template on each user's talk page, but I don't know if they would want you doing that. I'll take a look at your adoption program.   jj137 (talk) 19:06, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A typo, yes, but a repeated one. And since editing talk page comments is a major faux pas, I wasn't about to correct it in that manner. So hi! Howa0082 (talk) 22:06, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Muhammad Hussain as disambiguation page

Bro, I was not experimenting with wikipedia. I know how to edit wikipedia. I was actually making article of Muhammad Hussain as a disambiguation page, which may mean any of these persons: Sawar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed, Muhammad Hussain Najafi & Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah. Please have patience and let me do that again. Syed.Nedian (talk) 21:35, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you bro. In fact, I am not a new user and was awarded a barnstar for my contribution to wikipedia. I was previously using the account Fayyazabbas (talk) but could not know how to change the account title, so created a new account. Any help in this regard would be appreciated Syed.Nedian (talk) 21:44, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And what exactly did I do wrong?

Hi there.

I dont appreciate you reverting my edits to MY page.

If I want to tell people I am going to be away for a while, I can.

Unless it's vandalism, it DOESNT need reverting.

Oh, OK. Do you like National treasure? Kimu 22:02, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, sorry bout that edit summary, I meant to put re. Kimu 22:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it's one of my favorite movies too. Do you think they'll make a 3rd? Kimu 22:19, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, Riley's the best character. I heard at rotten tomatoes that the next movie will probably involve page 47 from the presidents secret book. I also heard that Nicholas Cage said he'd like to see it turn into sort of a international treasure. What do you think? Kimu 22:26, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That would be cool. I think page 47 is about the Alamo or the pyramids. You? Kimu 22:31, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I can't remember if he did or didn't, but yeah I think 1 had more action. Kimu 22:37, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you play halo? Kimu 22:38, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I have the wii too. I like it better than the xbox. And OK. Kimu 22:41, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting

Yes, a reversion to an article would count as a mainspace edit. I think it would be a good idea to stress to your students that at RFA, editcounts seem to be even less an issue than they were when I was made an admin, and I think that's a good trend. QUALITY of edits counts, not quantity. Good question. - Philippe | Talk 21:49, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NO, it isn't... we'll sort of. Our fun is part improving articles... a lot! Like the Giant Panda cabal... it's hardly meant for fun, but I think it is fun. Basketball110 02:58, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Earth Hour

I am participating in Earth Hour right now. Did you or are you going to do it? --Writergirlrocks talk 01:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you can search on it, but basically it is where everyone possible turns out there lights from 8 to 9 their time. I am doing it right now. --Writergirlrocks talk 01:22, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, just lights. We didn't last until nine. We had to eat, and we had to turn the lights on. We lasted half an hour though. --Writergirlrocks talk 02:07, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, not really. I'm about to start working on my Sam Campbell article. --Writergirlrocks talk 02:36, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Teaching

I think it's a good idea to have several folks involved with the program. My preference would be no tests at all, since I think they're not really useful to gauge understanding of wiki, but that's your call totally, and I'm not going to enforce my preference on you as though it were policy. I appreciate your offer to have me take a formal role with your program. I hope you'll understand that I can't accept right now, because my on-wiki time is pretty well taken up by admin'ing, WP:OTRS and as an election official for the 2008 Board of Trustees election. (And, frankly, I'm doing a poor job of keeping up with OTRS while the election is being prepared).

What I'd like to do, though, is to informally advise you as I see things. That could be rarely, or more often. Basically, my preference is to keep the ability to stick my nose in when something interests me, without any determined role. That's better for my time constraints right now.

I think you're moving things in the right direction, and that's to be commended. You've taken some hard knocks the past few days (some of them by me) and it's admirable that you're taking seriously the feedback that people are giving you. - Philippe | Talk 01:59, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

About what?   jj137 (talk) 02:03, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... I don't think so. It seems fine to me.   jj137 (talk) 02:05, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
:O Wow, that's really cool. I hope you didn't manually type all of that. :) Well, actually, how did you compile it?   jj137 (talk) 02:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I hope he didn't manually type it either! :) The bad thing is, if you want to add one of those images to a talk page, you have to check the source.   jj137 (talk) 02:20, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

I am making a page about an author. How do I make an infobox? --Writergirlrocks talk 02:51, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What more do I want?

Good idea. Is your bot still seeking approval? Basketball110 03:02, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why? Basketball110 03:04, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well... think of it this way. You are trying to prove that you can reach 1500, not beat me. Mine is always increasing. 1500 (the number) isn't going up to 1600 next month (unlike gas prices). Cheers, Basketball110 03:23, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe 45 minutes. Most probably around 11:15 my time, 9:15 your time (you are on Pacific time, right?). How about you? Basketball110 03:26, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Any more requests to join your cabals... any more people needing help with their userpages? Basketball110 03:31, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean 'remove it?' Basketball110 03:35, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that! I thought you meant the status bar. Sure, go ahead. Basketball110 03:37, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How do you like the changes I've made to the contest? Basketball110 03:44, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I saw that Parent4556 (or whatever numbers) had added the class under "progress," so I decided to spilt the section up. Basketball110 03:48, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great work! :) Basketball110 03:52, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I suggest removing the Random Article Contest thing from the UserSpace Cabal page, because that cabal is dedicated to helping userspace. That's what I think, but you choose. Basketball110 03:54, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that at your icons page. I bet you stole them all from MoP, who stole them all from somebody, who probably stole them all from somebody else... Basketball110 04:10, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
While I was on recent change patrol, I noticed that someone blanked the page. I didn't look at the title, so I almost reverted the edit. Basketball110 04:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Somebody removed 700 bytes of something on that page. Basketball110 04:15, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Who said what and why? Basketball110 04:27, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're really having fun watching another person having fun, aren't you. You should post the diffs here. Basketball110 04:37, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You sent the entire page to the sandbox? Basketball110 04:43, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Editor review

Hey thanks for the review, I contributed to the AFD section and I hope that will help any future attempts that I may or may not have at administrator. Maybe in a year or two perhaps, I would think that you would agree? Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 03:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are editors out there who have not tried for admin after like three years, some have like 80,000 edits and haven't even tried, I need to know more about the site before I try for admin. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 03:17, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
When you're an admin, remember me, and don't blow it. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 03:26, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I read your peer review, I think six months is a bit excessive, don't you?Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 03:31, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think that is still a bit much, look at this template I made, my crowning achievement I think. Template:Infallible Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 03:37, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can you give me a link to said template?Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 03:42, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it pretty much isn't the same, mine is somewhat humourous, most admins have a "Fallible" template on their user page, so I just made a joke. Doctor Will Thompson (talk) 03:47, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Secret page

Hi. I notice that you have a "secret page" message at the top. I've seen those in a few places, and I haven't been able to work out what the point is. Maybe you can help me. Why is this supposed to be challenging? Bovlb (talk) 03:40, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But I don't need to find the hidden link. You only have 52 user sub-pages. It doesn't take long to scan the list and find the one with the wacky name. Is this cheating? Bovlb (talk) 03:50, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I believe that I now understand as much as I'm ever going to. :) Bovlb (talk) 03:55, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Thank you for saying that I guess it's kinda nice. --Casey906262 (talk) 04:49, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
