Starting in 2003 and following the format of the American Kids' Choice Awards, the Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards is the first awards show in Australia to let kids' determine who wins the awards. Each show is full of excitement with the burping and farting competitions as well as the sliming of celebrities but is otherwise good clean fun. The show is usually held during September and a special party is held at Dreamworld's Nick Central where a large crowd attends to watch the Kids' Choice Awards.

Sponsors

Each year, the Kids Choice Awards includes a list of sponsors that are heavily advertised throughout the Kids Choice Awards period of time (from opening of nominations to close of ceremony - about five months) and usually tie in with the program (For example, Dreamworld launched Ride-O-Rama on the Nickelodeon website, where players could compete in online games vaguely resembling Dreamworld rides, in exchange for the chance to win KCA merchandise through the online "Skill Tester"). Dreamworld has sponsored the awards show every year since the show's beginning in 2003. This is possibly because of Nickelodeon Australia's connection with Dreamworld via Nick Central.
