User: 198.85.213.1

This user, 198.85.213.1 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log), is engaged long-term edit warring with several editors in the following articles: Makie Sasaki and Evangeline A.K. McDowell. His edits were reverted because the reverting editors give valid rebuttals to this user's own reasons for the edits, yet it seems he never listens and never responds to whatever messages left in his talk page. What can you do about this user? - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 03:42, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know enough about the subject to assist here. Try to ask for semiprotection at WP:RFPP or bring up a report at WP:ANI.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:46, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Much appreciated. I'll bring this up in WP:AN/I. Anyway, thanks for blocking Happyone2 (talk · contribs); that user's edits has annoyed many editors. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 03:52, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if that user is how you chose me, he was making up an English cast list for a show that will never be dubbed. :P—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:57, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I reported Happyone2 to WP:AN/I because his edits appear to be good faith edits that reporting to WP:AIV won't work. I posted two reports, with the second one posting diffs. In the case of the second one, there was no reply after I posted the diffs, making apparent to me that the problem with this user appears never to be resolved. I presume you read it and took action. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 04:30, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ANI thread on Betacommand

I've noted your actions at the ANI thread on Betacommand. Letting you know so you can comment if you want to. Carcharoth (talk) 08:22, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Betacommand

Why is it in bad taste? He used an abusive sock; he's a puppetmaster confirmed by checkuser. The templates are accurate and I often add them to sock/puppetmaster pages cos that's what they're there for. There's no threshold for the number of abusive socks one must have before being noted as a puppetmaster and sock. Again, if it was anyone else, nobody would have said a thing, but since he's so "valuable to the project" some people want to overlook the fact that he's abusive and highly disruptive. There's no special set of rules for Betacommand. Nobody of Consequence (talk) 16:34, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was still only hours since the thread was started. Perhaps, he was attempting to go from one account to another as you had.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:58, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Titleblacklist

Sorry about that: my mistake. I've now updated the page with what I believe to be the appropriate escape code for this character, so it can be clearly visible. -- The Anome (talk) 02:22, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It should be 00AD, according to what I managed to find.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:26, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
Good, that's what you added :). Should check it first.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:27, 17 May 2008 (UTC)

why it it that when i add something he deletes it,but when someone else adds it he doesn't?CMJMEM (talk) 02:11, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know. Is there a different reference?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:12, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
This user added a different reference, and I have been looking for any signs that it may be reliable, but I don't find any. King iMatthew 2008 02:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pokemon Platinum

You've reverted my edits without adding verifiable sources, and have re-added speculative material. Please explain your revert here (I'v watched the page). Thank you! Matt (talk) 10:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You also removed referenced material. I simply added it back after I reverted.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:33, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and (weather permitting) hold a late-night astronomy event at Columbia's telescopes.

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

Also, check out our regional US Wikimedia chapters blog Wiki Northeast (and we're open to guest posts).

Suspected sockpuppet of Happyone2

It seems that blocked user Happyone2 (talk · contribs) has struck again. But this time, the user goes under the name Kittymitty999 (talk · contribs). I'd filed a sockpuppet report on him. Can you also check on this user? It seems Kittymitty999's MO is the same as Happyone2. - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 05:40, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I won't have anything to match until the user adds the same information to an article I edit. Let's wait until then.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 06:03, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Did you take a look at the report? (BTW, he/she put a "Japanese" actor on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody main characters‎.) - 上村七美 (Nanami-chan) | talkback | contribs 06:06, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Zippycup

Wow. Was there a checkuser case? Or did you have a similar unpleasant confrontation as I did? J.delanoygabsadds 13:27, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do take a look at this reinstatement of personal attacks by this user on his talk page, after my removal. Subsequently, there is some test edits with unblock templates also. AIV is hardly a choice and ANI is quite burdened. So, just letting you know here. Cheers. Prashanthns (talk) 15:04, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just wondered if all the sockpuppets were confirmed before or after my little encounter. J.delanoygabsadds 15:08, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies firstly for this clutter I am creating here. But, I am fairly certain that User:Notts33 and User:Qualaloopo are also socks of User:Zippycup. I received a note here from the latter about lincolnshire independence, which was what the former was doing for which he was blocked. And here, zippycup had awarded somebody else's barnstar for this blocked user, which he later defended on his talk page, saying that this user is a nice guy. I wanted to report this at the RFCU of zippy, but cant find it. Cheers. Prashanthns (talk) 15:45, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please contact User:FT2 concerning this. He performed the checkuser and determined that these accounts were related, and requested that someone else perform the blocks.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:18, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. Prashanthns (talk) 22:20, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unquestionably a rather clear sock issue. I'm still working on this. As said, checkuser makes it rather clear. So do other factors. FT2 (Talk | email) 22:33, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Prashanthns (talk) 08:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

Please see User talk:Ducksofmercy. Was there a RFCU done, or a SSP? Tiptoety talk 14:26, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, it appears to have been taken care of. Thank you! Tiptoety talk 16:29, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm aware, I've had to post a "please wait 24". There is reason to believe there's a concern; on the other hand it's open to review and best re-reviewed once the main case is dealt with and a lot will depend upon any further knowledge gained since the initial blocks. Sadly this has been a heavily vandalistic ring to deal with (several overlapping sock cases involved). FT2 (Talk | email) 22:33, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

G'day (again) Ryulong!

I hope you're good - I'm coming by here to ask a small bit of advice - your name was the first that popped up on my watchlist as an active admin, and I recall that we were able to talk about stuff quite smoothly a couple of weeks ago, so I thought you might have 5 min.s to help.

I've been pressing 'random article' and making some changes today (it's kinda fun!) - and in taking a look at my watchlist I realise I've made this edit which is actually to a 'biography of a living person' - something I'm currently prohibited from editing under an arbcom restriction. I don't think the para. should be there (obviously!) - and find myself in a bit of a dilemma about what exactly to do. I should add that this was a mistake - I shouldn't have edited that article, and I do not generally plan on editing BLPs until such time as my restriction is lifted.

I'm heading out for a few hours now, but any advice you can offer / action you think's best to take would be appreciated. Cheers, Privatemusings (talk) 04:57, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't like getting entrenched in BLP issues... So I do not know the correct course of action.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:59, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
no worries - I'll ask someone later... have a good one, Privatemusings (talk) 05:01, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Elderly Instruments

This is very blatant advertising disguised as encyclopedic article. Please do dot delete valid criticisms. My view is shared y many others on the discussion page.Starstylers (talk) 05:34, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Stop being a dingus about there being a featured article on a company.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:35, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Rangers Strike

Do not edit the Rangers Strike article until we have resolved all issues on the talk page. Please see Talk:Rangers Strike, where I have repeatedly tried to get a discussion going to prevent edit wars. If you are unwilling to talk about it before editing the article we will need to enter some sort of dispute resolution, where editing of the article may be protected from both parties until we can talk out the dispute. Mathman1550 (talk) 18:10, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You made two posts on that talk page, and if you cannot figure out what the lists are about, you have not read the article as it was before you removed all of the information from it.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:33, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Zoku

"Zoku" can also mean "Clan", it depends on the context behind Zoku. Fractyl (talk) 22:02, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Race" works better in some instances.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 22:05, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

User: Ducksofmercy

Please re-consider my block - I am not a sockpuppet, but got caught up in the middle of someone else's edits. 86.145.144.99 (talk) 11:23, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
