Gilles-Gaston Granger deletion

Hello. I noticed that you deleted Gilles-Gaston Granger (back in August 2008) as «no assertion of notability». I ask you to undelete it has the article clearly asserts some notability (published many book over 50 years, many more scientific articles). Also note that there has been another attempt on creating a (very small stub) on him - as Gilles Gaston Granger (missing the "-") - Nabla (talk) 23:21, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

He is notable in the French world, but not in the English speaking world. There was nothing to support notability.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:51, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
Lack of notability is no reason to speedy delete. Plus having tens of published book over a 50 year span is a hint to notability (an academic will rarely be featured in the news) and you even acknowledge that he *is* notable... Also if you take the trouble to look around a bit you'll see his work being referenced in Universities worlwide (well... Eastern Worldwide). France (naturally), Belgium, England, USA, Canada, Brasil were the one's I found with ease. At least 3 of these are in the English speaking world (not that I agree with that criterion). Based on this, and given you are unwilling to, I will revert your deletion. - Nabla (talk) 01:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
If he is notable, make a new article.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:03, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
The current article is a fine stub. If you think he is not notable take it to AfD or Deletion Review. Enjoy! - Nabla (talk) 01:28, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Sorry to butt in here, but when responding to the below thread, this caught my eye "He is notable in the French world, but not in the English speaking world. There was nothing to support notability." Notability is not defined like this on the English Wikipedia. If it were, most of our articles on anime and manga wouldn't exist until official English production started (and for most, they won't get English versions). -- Ned Scott 01:28, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

The article, at the time, had no references or anything to support the notability. I know the individual has a biography at the French Wikipedia, but nothing there could show me that we should have an article here.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:29, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Ah, that makes more sense. -- Ned Scott 01:35, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

User:Ottava Rima

User:Ottava Rima was blocked for the 3RR. If there is an issue with him abusing the e-mail feature, can you not disable that without blocking him? If so, your block is inappropriate. We don't punish users with blocks, and that seems be exactly what you've been doing. User:Ottava Rima is annoying at best, but hardly disruptive. -- Ned Scott 01:15, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

You cannot block someone from sending e-mail without blocking them. Ottava Rima was abusing the feature, as was evident on his user page, and I received an e-mail proceeding Sandstein's warning. This is generally done regardless.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:16, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
I still believe that extending the block doesn't do any good and only makes things more heated. Why not just disable e-mail for the duration of his original block? As annoying as the e-mails were, is it really that crazy to think that Ottava was simply upset, which is pretty much the norm for blocked users? It's like you're picking at his weaknesses, rather than avoiding further dispute. -- Ned Scott 01:25, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
His block will expire in the next 3 hours. Various other administrators have declined his 10 or so unblock requests in the past three days. The e-mails may have been in line with normal activity, but he was e-mailing everyone, and I specifically said that he should stop e-mailing me (I tend to not reply in e-mails because of the negative impact of doing so with two users who have since been banned). I know blocks are not meant to be punitive, but he was warned and he did not heed that warning.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:30, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, fair enough, I guess. -- Ned Scott 01:34, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Kinnikuman

Why did you move the V Jump Kinnikuman Nisei to it's complete translated name? It was fine the way it was before, and are you doing this to other pages? – 「JUMPGURU」@Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 16:41, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

This is the English Wikipedia. As such, we should use the English names where possible.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Post deletions

Why is it that you delete most of my talk page posts from your user talk page?. Mythdon (talk) 02:28, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Several I don't feel like I have to answer.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:24, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
Were there any posts i made on your talk page that you removed that you think broke any rules?. Mythdon (talk) 21:02, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
I just did not feel like answering them.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:07, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Regarding this, please see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Willy on Wheels. —David Levy 05:03, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

As you've yet to publicly comment on this matter, I'll just go ahead and request an explanation. Why did you perform this deletion and protection? —David Levy 04:20, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
The same error as everyone else.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:21, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I realize that you mistook the user for a WoW vandal, but why did that dictate deleting his talk page and protecting it against re-creation? What process were you attempting to follow? —David Levy 04:24, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
WP:RBI.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:34, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I don't see anything in that essay about deleting and salting active talk pages. —David Levy 04:48, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
But it does include ignoring.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 04:51, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Questions

After coming across a discussion of some of your recent actions on WP:ANI, I had a closer look and I have to say that I'm surprised at your general ratio of administrative action to talk page posts. Do you think you would benefit from more communication with users? And this -- why is that user name unacceptable? CKCortez (talk) 08:43, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

What discussion of my recent actions on ANI?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:43, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

I would like to support the deletion of this article, but the template does not state anywhere todo so. Is there anywhere I can vote a positive for deletion or something? -Mike Payne (T • C) 01:40, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

PLease remove the indefinite ban

Hello...I am working as a consultant with a company that is having difficulty editing pages on wikipedia. Their IP lies within an range that has been indefinitely blocked. The block is indicated as such:

Editing from 207.226.0.0/16 (your account, IP address, or IP address range) has been disabled by Ryulong for the following reason(s): Proxy range for Beyond the Network America. The block is set to expire: indefinite.

How do we go about removing this block? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffdaro (talkcontribs) 01:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

"Beyond the Network America" is not an Internet service provider. They are a hosting service. Tell your consultees to use a regular internet service provider to edit.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:39, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

rangeblock of 220.255.7.0/24

I don't know what kind of disruption was coming from that range for you to issue a three months block but please consider shortening or removing it. It's an isp proxy. See Template:SingNet. And it's not effective at all as I evaded the block just by restarting the router. --165.21.155.108 (talk) 19:40, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

These particular ranges have been producing a lot of deleterious edits. I have not seen any similar edits from the range you are on.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:43, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Super Sentai

Then why don't we include Big One as a white? DWolf2k2 (talk) 02:18, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Because Japanese sources don't include him as white.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 03:25, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Then can you give the source for why to include DekaBreak and GekiChopper as White please? Not challenging anything, just would like to know. DWolf2k2 (talk) 05:32, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
It is on the talk page at Talk:Super Sentai.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 05:44, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Discussion at AN about a block of yours

Curtesy notification -[2] not criticism but seeking an unblock after a long period of time. I haven't approached you directly as this was previously unheld at ANI so I think the unblock needs a wider discussion. Spartaz Humbug! 10:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Why am I being "warned"??

The images were tv screenshots from either jetix or fox kids, and they were given a fair use rationale and appropriate copyright tags. I lowered the resolution for each picture in the collage. I did EVERYthing I was supposed to do when I uploaded them. I don't see how this will result in my being blocked Qilinmon (talk) 15:02, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

This is all you're doing. And collages aren't fair use.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 23:09, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Image:Wild Force collage.jpg - I believe you uploaded this one..and look...it's a collage :) Qilinmon (talk) 15:09, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Haim Saban

You said in the protection log for Haim Saban that the page should not be unprotected without contacting you. Do you mind if I unprotect the article now? Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 18:58, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

There's been a persistant vandal who uses a Canadian ISP that will vandalize that article if given the chance. The ranges I have blocked are on User:Ryulong/Sandbox at the moment, and I would not like if this article were unprotected should the blocks end.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:54, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Re-block if the IP range vandalizes after the block expiration. It's just as simple as that. We shouldn't protect a page for almost a year just because of one person's actions. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 20:51, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
There was also lack of action by the ISP in abuse reports.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for reverting the vandalism to my page last night. Carl.bunderson (talk) 01:00, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

Remove Angel Boi

This article shouldn't be removed. It is within the guidelines of Wikipedia. The information in this article is very accurate, and can be proving, through reliable sources. It is in detail without spamming. The reason that was giving for this discussion to be deleted. Is not correct. This discussion is of great importance, and significance. However, researching this discussion in more depth will determine the significance of this article. The article is surrounding history in the music industry. For that main reason along that makes this article significance. Thank you Ryulong. Larissa00 (talk) 09:08, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

There were no reliable sources other than the personal webpages of the subject. Nothing was shown to assert that the individual was notable.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:06, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

I just wanted to know why you deleted the anime adaption for the game this article is about. I was hoping it would be separate like the anime adaption for the other video games. Rtkat3 (talk) 3:59, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

The page was one line and most of the information about the anime was already in the article about the game.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:05, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Burkina

Hi,

Just to let you know, the sockpuppet that moved Burkina doesn't seem to be targeting any particular article, but every week or so creates new accounts and moves random articles (this time eleven countries) to silly titles. I doubt the move block will accomplish anything. kwami (talk) 07:43, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Could you tell me why there would be any good reason to move the page, regardless?—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 07:44, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
No reason, just that we don't normally protect articles unless they're repeatedly vandalized or reverted, and I doubt this vandal will be back. No biggie either way. kwami (talk) 16:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Grawp tags you deleted

The accounts need to be checkusered and that's why I tagged them. William Ortiz (talk) 09:22, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

The accounts are too old to do any good. Also, WP:DENY.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 09:23, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
I figured they tags would be deleted after being checkusered. But well I looked at some and it appears a lot weren't used for over three months so I guess they are too old. William Ortiz (talk) 09:25, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
Still, checkusers will know how to find them regardless.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 09:27, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Kamen Rider Kiva Characters

In the section of Kamen Rider Kiva labeled Characters I put that Kengo Eritate has been confirmed as the third rider Kamen Rider Yaiba. If you would like the info on it here: มันคือมัจจุราชอะดิ and the link as follows [3]

It also mentions a fifth form for KIva being the Castling Form. Also I shall include another link showing a fourth rider similar to Kiva only with a white Kivat and a different motif. [4]—Preceding unsigned comment added by Tahu90 (talkcontribs)

That's not Japanese. That's Thai. They got the information from Dukemon22, too. There is no confirmation. Just rumors.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 00:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Ok guy 1. I know it is Thai, but who is this Dukemon22 character? 2. Thai-Toku gets there info straight from the source. I mean Hello it maybe a Thai site, but it is a joint site that gets alot of japanese info more than anything else. It says right in the title Thai-Toku. So please look it over next time. Plus one question. How old are you? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tahu90 (talkcontribs) 01:49, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

Dukemon22 is someone who posts at English language boards who posts that same stuff. Any fan forum can not be taken as a reliable source, and my age has nothing to do with the matter.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 01:58, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
