I thought it looked a bit unprofessional to have a website name under his picture. For now, I have a screenshot of him performing live in its place. If someone with Photoshop wants to cut off the website at the bottom of Himesh's original picture, by all means do so.

what?

he does.--203.115.176.76 14:54, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Everyone deserves an article.

71.35.45.76 01:13, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does that mean I can get one? My contribution to the world has been over 2 cubic metres of fart, at STP. I dont have a nasal twang though, sorry.

202.134.181.246 07:07, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes he does deserve an article. Whether or not everyone likes him, he is still an important figure in India's music industry.

Anyone who says Himesh does not deserve an article may keep their mouth shut. Every artist has his or hers own set of fan followers. There are people who don't like Big B too, so what? Does that mean Big B is loosing a bit of his popularity?

Himesh has a new blend of music which is mixture of Sufi tune and foot tapping music. If people did not like his music he would not have given so many hits with 6-7 months. So there will be critics who can do not but criticize.

I like Himesh and so does millions. The world is dancing to his tunes - that proves it all.

I'm a Fijian guy of Indian descent living in Fiji. I'm not really a fan of Indian music and until recently had no idea who Himesh Reshammiya was. Earlier this year I was at a party and heard songs from the movie Aksar. Next day I bought the album. I think this guy is brilliant. His style is unique and there's definately a certain kashish in his music and his voice. I'm hooked! He definately deserves an article.

(Aksar was a really boring movie though! A bit OTT and very fake.)

I loved the way the lead female smashed things when she was mad. At first I thought it was the Indian remake of the Incredible Hulk. Pdinc 16:46, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He is a blot on the face of Indian Music! He doesnt know the basics & has the audacity to criticize greats like Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan or R.D.Burman. Just because he is a good composer, we need to put up with his pathetic voice. Doc sameer 23:54, 21 May 2007 (UTC)][reply]

Can we have a bit of professionalism please. people with inferiority complexes may keep

their views to themselves and losers of their kind. this is an online encyclopedia and not your home where

your momma will give you a toffee to stop your tantrums.

Criticism

Shouldn't there be a Criticism section? He has been criticized by many for having a very nasal voice. Wikipedia Articles should be neutral, this is not his fan page.--DIGIwarez 15:49, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, you will find one now -- Mayuresh 07:54, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone add a topic about his personal life, where some rumours are saying he is marrid with 2 kids, and others are saying he is single. What should be written is that there no proof of either and this question dogged in mystery Can someone also add that, despite his successful musical career,he is is becoming increasinly more and more arrogant and that he has changed considerably since he started to sport the new look with his beard and baseball cap. This is increasinlgy evident on the latest episodes of Sa re ga ma pa 2007 where he was trashing 2 of his students an Asha told himesh to encourage kids not discourage. The the controvery where one of Himesh's student sang "I wann make love to you" and Asha made a comment that song may not be appropriate and Himesh got offended. Also add the Salman Khan incident where Salman was furious that Himesh kept showing up late for a movie rehersal. Even on Sa ra ga ma pa 2007, Himesh showed a very personal bias for Vineet and would only encourate viewers to vote for him and not any other member of his own gharana.

I wonder why people don't ever mention Lata Mangeshkar... she had perfect pitch, excellent control, great musicality, but her voice was as nasal as it gets! When people get upset with my saying this, I simply ask them to listen to recordings of Shreya Ghosal and then compare those to some of Lata's songs. --128.59.26.54 18:15, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

zee news says himesh birthday is 23 july.but wiki says 11 may who,s correct?

The wiki source for birthday is IMDB. If you think that Zee News is right, please provide a reference and update the birthdate. utcursch | talk 12:41, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Himesh clearly clarifies that 11th May was a mistake (watch at 8min 45secs). His birthday is on 23rd July. Here's the source: http://youtube.com/watch?v=cBNt25417IE

One of the most famous singer?

What makes his Himesh Reshammiya is one of the most famous singers in the history of bollywood ? -Mayuresh 15:12, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Section titles

Section titles needs to be wikified. right now they are not looking encyclopedic at all.

And what is that "Music Review" section doing? There shud be no "review" type section in an encyclopedia. Many people will have different opinion about his music/singing, so a music review will simply wont cope with npov. -69.88.3.140 08:06, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate

IMDB and some other sites state Himesh's birthday as May 11, 1969:

Some forums/blogs/fan sites say his birthdate is July 23:

July 23, 1973

July 23, 1975 http://www.merinews.com/catFull.jsp?articleID=124431&catID=9&category=Potpourri&rtFlg=rtFlg

My recent edits

I thought I ought to explain the severe amount of culling I've just done on the article; after I was brought here when a user attempted to create a picture gallery article for this person.

I removed the Fan Club section as it was full of peacock terms and encyclopaedic. I removed the samples section as the samples did not exist. The images used on the article were blatant copyright violations; taken from another site and as such have also been removed. I trimmed down the awards section so it just contains awards he has won; there was no need to have each award in a section of its own; it simply makes it too long. Not knowing the subject matter I have no idea which awards are actually notable or not; so I have not removed any. I removed the selected songs section because there was no indication of how they were selected, or how they were notable. As it stands, to my eye, the article is still full of too many lists; singers he was worked with, etc. Someone with knowledge may wish to address the lists; and trim them to purely notable collaborations. Someone may also want to look at moving the filmography section to an article of its own. --Blowdart | talk 11:32, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
