Academic Credentials

Abstract

I'm a linguist and an academic; I've written papers in psycholinguistics, rhetorical genre studies, phonology, historical linguistics and HPSG (applied to sound change, in my thesis). I'm half French-Canadian and half anglophone, having lived in Montreal most of my younger years, and in Ottawa for my undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Current Academic

I will soon finish my Maîtrise ès Arts : Français (Linguistique) at Carleton University. My thesis deals with an application of Head-driven phrase structure grammar and natural generative phonology to the understanding of French “H aspiré”, expanding on the work of Tseng (2002) and Klausenburger (1978).

Biography

Now living in Ottawa, I'm originally from Montréal, Québec. I'’m an academic, with several varied hobbies; largely, climbing, sailing, music, puzzle solving and programming. I am half French-Canadian and half anglophone, and I have a basic understanding of Greek and Classical Arabic.

Why I'm here

I'm on Wikipedia to add my knowledge to that of the collective, and to contribute my skills and knowledge, in a larger way, to the formation and maintenance of a free, open, and most importantly, reliable and factually accurate encyclopedia.
