Time of year

Craig Burr

Hi - I noticed you deleted the article on Craig Burr several weeks ago. I was not involved with the original authoring or editing of the page but have been working on related articles and wanted to see if you could restore the original text in my user space for improvement as he is the founder of two notable venture capital firms over the last four decades. Re: Charles Wildbank wiki page deletion

Thingg,

I was sorry to find my work deleted. At first when I viewed my Austrian art associate Gottfried Helnwein's wiki (he is my contemporary and I know him personally), it was how I got the idea to do one for Charles Wildbank. I know his personal staff created his page.

Do you recommend that I just build mine up on user:wildbank page and then have some professional use it as reference to create my art page like Gottfried Helnwein's? Could you also tell me why his is not deleted? It would help me understand.

Thank you, 24.45.18.243 (talk) 02:49, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Charles Wildbank[reply]

PlayStation 2 & number of bits

I noticed you reverted my edit on PlayStation 2. I may have missed something along the way (and that's fine) and just wanted to make sure I understand completely. The CPU in the PS2 is a 64 bit PS2 (that has, what I've seen, generally been accepted in the article, and what it currently says). However, the console itself is part of the 128 bit generation? IOW, the generation and the CPU are different in terms of "number of bits." Just wanted to make sure I understood what you are saying with the edit summary. Thank you. --TreyGeek (talk) 04:05, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm with you on the confusion of how to classify the PS2. I'll admit I haven't done extensive research on where it really fits. (I've got other projects higher on my priority list.) I just scanned through the contents of the PS2 talk page and didn't see any discussion on the topic (only on the CPU). I'm going to leave it alone for now (low on my priority list). Perhaps one day I'll find time to research it and figure out what is best. Thanks for the reply. --TreyGeek (talk) 05:42, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mistress Fortune

Is there a reason my edits were reverted for Mistress Fortune? I had added in ISBN numbers and chapter titles, and referenced where they came from, so I'm not sure why it was undone... I had also added a link to the Vomic, which is an official Shueisha link... Kelakagandy (talk) 04:35, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for restoring the page. Kelakagandy (talk) 04:41, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lake Murten

This lake in Switzerland is called Lake Morat on Swiss maps. Three quarters of its shores speak French. "Lac de Morat" is the official name in Switzerland. In English Language writers and journalist have always used the name Lake Morat and not at all the German one. Only the city has a bilingual appelation : Murten/Morat. The word Murten is not English and not at all convenient for the lake.

Any chance you could also see to File:2301159.jpg from the same article. I can't seem to do anything about it due to the file name, but it's now an orphan and I'd guess the license is false. [ cycle~ ] (talk), 21:30, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Depicitions

Hi. The depictions were added to the articles by a user with an agenda. No other depiction of any of the personalities other than Ali and Husayn have been made in history and none are anywhere to be found in books or on the Internet, other than those added. As such, it would be very inappropriate for Wikipedia to host hideous drawings of individuals whose visual representation has been avoided throughout history. Hyperbaric medicine

Hi Thingg, I thought I'd just drop you a quick note to request that when you revert edits, as you did here, it would be helpful to other editors such as myself, if you gave a reason. The standard Huggle message "m (Reverted edits by 165.228.190.54 to last version by Mckeeman (HG))" is unsuitable for anything other than uncontroversial vandalism (especially as it is marked as minor!), and I'm sure you can see from the article history that the new IP editor was merely having problems working out how to add their content and cite it. Thanks --RexxS (talk) 22:05, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I created the entry on Frances Clarke Sayers and I was wondering why you reverted my addtions and corrections that I made on Dec 16, 2008?

Deleted my article fair enough but I'm really notable, honest

Article: Matthew Yee-King Ok - I read all the stuff about speedy deletions, nobodies and notability. I've made some edits to my article e.g. added link to discogs and re-wrote the first para to place my work better in a notable context (links to 4 other people I've played in bands with, all of whom have wikipedia pages). Any chance of an undelete now? Google me dude - ImTheMaN sorry just wanted to annoy you with some camelBackStyle cos you called me a nobody. ha ha ha ha Peace, Yeeking

If you're going to reverse my edit, why not reverse the rest of the article? It contains the same types of comments as her other characters, i.e. what's unique about that character. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.150.38.246 (talk) 01:42, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In recognition of being that time of the year...

Amir Bagheri

Did the page for chess grandmaster Amir Bagheri (which you speedily deleted)[1] say anything significant? The guy is probably notable, but if the page had nothing useful to say then I might as well just create it from scratch :) Peter Ballard (talk) 00:01, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy decline

"userspace content that is not defamatory or libelous is, for the most part, not speediable"

Even if it's a blatant ad for his own company (Young Hollywood, which was deleted more than once)? User:Rjw2007 sounds an awful lot like R. J. Williams, whose Young Hollywood website seems to have been spammed onto wikipedia by WP:SPAs like Jmlaing, JennieC2005, and Fsgsydney. —Hello, Control Hello, Tony 00:06, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Man, what is your beef with this page. You are not following any rules. The source is good, it is there for you and everyone else to read, the info is coming from the link. Go open it and read it. Stop vandalizing this page!63.26.30.239 (talk) 00:34, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How are my edits to The Abbott Family article unconstructive? I was taking out the false and non-encyclopedic information. The way it reads now it says Katherine Chancellor married Dina Mergeron and they are the parents of John "Jack" Abbott Jr. (which isn't the correct title of that characters page). There are further inaccuracies you've reverted it back to such as John Abbott having an affair with Diane and fathering his own grandson and others. I also changed the order so the family tree came first and took out the living arrangements at Abbott Manor because they aren't at all encyclopedic and are outdated. So what was it you found unconstructive?Rocksey (talk) 00:36, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Corey Schell deletion

The original editor of Corey Schell (it's an autobio) is not pleased with the deletion and responded in my page because I had left him an autobio notice. Then, after you speedy deleted the article as A7, I deleted the original redirect with improper casing as G8. The OP came to me thinking I had deleted the original article. Please read about his at User_talk:Alexf#Yes_I_know and reconsider restoring to his user space for him to rework, if you choose to do so. For the record, I agree with the A7 speedy but would have no issues in userfying it for him to rework. The COI issue bothers me more than the notability at this point but if he can assert enough notability, it may be OK. Thanks. -- Alexf(talk) 03:02, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You shouldn't remove links that existed long before a speedy A7-deleted page was created. Amir Bagheri was correctly redlinked on FIDE World Chess Championship 1999 and FIDE World Chess Championship 2000. Probably this world chess championship contender will get a good (or at least acceptable) page at some point. Oops, it's already happened. 24.177.121.141 (talk) 07:32, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hey I was wondering if you could restore the Corey Schell I have been working really hard on it and I have over 4 hours of time into it and it was actually looking really good I just have a few questions I was asking on how to fix it ect. Also I was wondering how to put the picture up on the right hand side that you see on other searches.Cjschll (talk) 18:01, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I got them two references on there now that are from news articals. Thats a start isnt it?Cjschll (talk) 14:56, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok so I got them three ref tags in there yet they are not working um I think I did it right I used the format you told me to yet it like directs be back to my wikipedia page. Not sure if I needed to add them to the bottom on the reference side. Could you go look at tell me whats up with it. ThanksCjschll (talk) 15:21, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok so I have the references KINDA fixed, I have 3 up top and 4 down low but I cant seem to tie them together. Could you fix that by chance or tell me how??? They are all in order also from 1-3 and there is an extra one down low.. Cjschll (talk) 16:14, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok so I worked on it and I think its fixed and ready to go.. Could you tell me if this would pass or not and if it wouldnt what I need to do yet.. Thanks... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cjschll (talkcontribs) 19:47, 25 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of 'Ceàrr

Hello Thingg. Most of the article 'Ceàrr was edited by me, so deletion was no good idea, as Ceàrr is only a copy of the text but not the history. Would you please delete Ceàrr and restore/move 'Ceàrr to Ceàrr ? Thanks. --Ilion2 (talk) 17:10, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help on dealing with the hoaxer. If you have questions about this ongoing problem, please see User:Barneca/watch/societyfinalclubs. Edward321 (talk) 00:44, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no Barbaro hoaxer. How can editors who are adding validly sourced material that can be checked by anyone be hoaxing. That is rediculous. You also can not block a good faith editor, that is corruption and abuse of power- there is no basis for it?4.143.236.17 (talk) 01:06, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
