Jessica Sutta

Jessica Lilian Sutta (born May 15, 1982) is an American dancer, singer, and actress. She is best known as a member of the successful pop/R&B group the Pussycat Dolls.

Early life

Sutta was born in Miami, Florida. She is of Catholic and Jewish parentage, with Irish, Polish and Russian ancestry.[1] [2] She grew up with two older brothers, Bill and Kevin. She started dance classes at the age of three. She went to the New World School of the Arts at age fourteen to study dance. She tore the ACL on both knees and switched to theater studies, before finally returning to dance. She joined the Miami Heat dance team in 1999 and became captain in 2001. Her mother is Catholic.

Media appearances

Sutta plays the woman who was abused by her husband in Ana Johnsson's music video for "Don't Cry for Pain". She also acted in the Swedish TV soap opera Ocean Ave., which was shot in Florida. In 2002, Sutta moved to Los Angeles. As a freelance dancer, she appeared in music videos for Will Smith, Baby Bash ("Suga Suga"), Craig David and Gloria Estefan, among others. She has also appeared in the movies From Justin to Kelly and Bully. In 2007, she appeared on an episode of the game show Identity in disguise as a Pussycat Doll.

Pussycat Dolls

She came to the attention of choreographer Robin Antin, who cast her with the Pussycat Dolls in 2002. As with all the other Dolls, Sutta is a salaried employee of Interscope Records. She is nicknamed "Pin-up Doll" for her pin-up styles.

Sutta sang co-lead along with Carmit Bachar and Ashley Roberts in the "Stickwitu" single b-side, "Santa Baby".

After the departure of Carmit Bachar from the group, Sutta took the parts that Bachar used to sing.

She also recorded a solo song "If I Was A Man" like all the Pussycat Dolls for the Deluxe Edition of their second studio album Doll Domination. The song is produced by Smidi, Ron Fair, and Stefanie Ridel.

In 2008 she changed her hair colour from brunette to redhead.[3]

Other appearances

Sutta is featured on Paul Van Dyk's July 2007 single "White Lies", which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Singles Sales. It also appeared on the album In Between.

She is also featured on a track named "Make It Last" with Dave Aude, which was released in May 2007 and reached number one on Billboard magazine 's Hot Dance Club Play charts for September 22, 2007.[4]

Jessica continues her love for dance music, recently recording the 80's influenced, electro track "In Your Heart". She is the only member of the Pussycat Dolls to have a solo hit single in the states.
