Why is it named the name that is not for the western region, when English Wikipedia is primarily western?--nblschool (talk) 18:16, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Because the game was released in Japan first and to be consistent with the SimCity DS article - the English Wikipedia is only primarily Western due to systematic bias. Also with the current set-up the SimCity Creator name is currently occupied by an article on the Wii version of the game, though there are ways around that. - Wouldn't it be more appropriate to use the title that is accepted on an international level, rather than the one that is only used in Japan? 24.192.149.38 (talk) 07:21, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- Either title can be used internationally, and as long as all titles used are mentioned in the lead of the article it is not that important in my opinion. Camaron | Chris (talk) 09:47, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- I also vote that the title of this article should be "SimCity Creator." That is the name this game has been given throughout the entire English-speaking world (North America, Europe, Australia, etc.), and this is the English language Wikipedia. I see no reason for the English language Wikipedia to use a name that is specific to Japan, and is used nowhere in the English-speaking world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.251.125.50 (talk) 21:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- It is not that simple. The Wii game currently occupies the SimCity Creator title, it will require a lot of moving around to get this to work - at least one article will have to have its titles disambiguated using brackets, defeating the objective of a re-name slightly. The current disambiguation in place seems to do the job it is supposed to. Camaron | Chris (talk) 21:59, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- Why would you need a disambig page? Why can't a single article contain information on both the Wii game and the DS game? Many titles are released on multiple platforms, even though the different versions can vary quite a bit and often go through completely independent development. For an extreme example, look at the game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which was released on the Xbox360, PS3, Wii, PS2, Nintendo DS, PSP, iPhone, N-Gage, and mobile phones. That's a load of different platforms, and the different versions are very different from each other, but all are covered by the same Wikipedia article.

"It was released in Europe, North America, and Australia under the name SimCity Creator in September 2008." Is that right? SimCity DS 2 and SimCity Creator are totally different games. (viewed some vids in youtube) -- 80.156.15.162 (talk) 12:32, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
