Jessica Stroup (born October 23, 1986) is an American actress and model. Stroup is better known for her role as Erin 'Silver' Silver on the Beverly Hills, 90210 spin-off 90210
Personal life
Stroup was born in Anderson, South Carolina and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Providence High School in 2004. At age 17 Stroup was offered a scholarship to attend University Of Georgia but turned it down to pursue an acting career. After high school at 17 she headed to Los Angeles, California to pursue work as a actress. Stroup is currently dating 90210 co-star Dustin Milligan. Stroup currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Stroup has a an older brother, Dave Stroup. Stroups mother was a former Miss North Carolina and had suggested modeling to her. She is close friends with actress Torrey DeVitto and 'Prom Night (2008 film) co-star Brittany Snow. Stroup is a big horror movie fan and has generally been/appeared in horror movies and some of her favorite horror movies include The Shining, Pet Sematary and Poltergeist
Career
Stroup began modeling when she was 15. Stroup began acting when she was 18 with her first acting job as as a guest star on Nickelodeon's popular teen series Unfabulous. Next, Stroup landed a small role in the CBS TV movie Vampire Bats. For Fox network, she played a major role in the TV movie Southern Comfort. Stroup was originally going to play Zoe in I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. According to IMDb Stroup had auditioned for a role in the in the 2008 horror film "April Fool's Day". In 2008 she joined the series 90210 as Erin Silver, the younger sister of David Silver and Kelly Taylor, a rebel who produces and stars in a YouTube-type video series. She is currently dating 90210 actor Dustin Milligan.
Her first feature film to be released in theaters was School for Scoundrels. She co-starred in the 2007 sequel film The Hills Have Eyes II. In 2008 she played the role of Claire in the remake of Prom Night . She has also appeared in the movie Broken, where her character shares a kiss with the character played by Heather Graham. She reunites with her Prom Night co-star, Idris Elba in the movie This Christmas. Stroup has generally appeared in mostly horror/gore films.
Over the years Jessica has appeared in numerous commercials, including spots for Honda, Velveeta and Target. Her most recognizable commercial appearance was as "the Dentyne Girl" in an advertisement for Dentyne Ice.
