A tag has been placed on Sonic Erotica requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. June 2009

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Sonic Erotica, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Wperdue (talk) 14:26, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hangon tags

Please read the speedy deletion tag. It says to place a hangon tag below the speedy deletion tag. Do not remove the speedy deletion tag. Please also not that a single hangon tag is all that is needed. Continued removal of the speedy deletion tag will be marked as vandalism. Thank you. Wperdue (talk) 14:27, 1 June 2009 (UTC)wperdue[reply]

Removing Speedy at Sonic Erotica

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you created, as you did with Sonic Erotica. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 14:31, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Sonic Erotica. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 14:40, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mike Meengs requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

I have nominated Sonic erotica, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sonic erotica. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Passportguy (talk) 11:36, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:A Bumper Sticker.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:A Bumper Sticker.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:05, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File copyright problem with File:Sonic Erotica Flyer Big Catch.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Sonic Erotica Flyer Big Catch.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 00:01, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've updated the image to claim that some sort of "statute of limitations" has expired. However, the term of copyright in the United States is far longer than 13 years. Additionally, just because something was released to the public doesn't mean that it is released under a free license. (ESkog)(Talk) 13:51, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The license you've chosen indicates that you are the copyright holder of the work. Were you a member of this band? (ESkog)(Talk) 13:52, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, I was never a member of the band. I only worked for and with them (and others) in a non-performance capacity. (ie: promotional, security and photography) We've known each other since 1995. File source problem with File:Terri_Nunn.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Terri_Nunn.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:22, 5 June 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 13:22, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Sonic Erotica Article Psycho-Sensuals Unite.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

Please do not re-create articles that have been deleted via a deletion discussion. If you feel the closing administrator's decision was incorrect, you may file a request at Wikipedia:Deletion review to have the decision re-examined. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:41, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

The source of the image is given as Eclipse Magazine article 1996 and the author as Sharon Hughes. It is unclear to me why you, rather than the author or the magazine, own the copyright to an image of the magazine. It also does not appear to have an appropriate GFDL or PD licence. If you believe that the image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author and the magazine, whichever owns the copyright, leave a message explaining the details on the image's summary and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If the image is from a website, and a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at the talk page with a link to where we can find that note. If it is your website, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at the article talk page with a link to the web page details.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so in the image summary.

jimfbleak (talk) 06:00, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You've made the assumption that I am not Sharon Hughes. This comes to me as no surprise. Ever hear of Carroll O'Connor or Carroll Shelby? Also, you've made the assumption that Eclipse Magazine is still in existance. And yet another assumption was made by you that the band members themselves did not authorize this article.

Also, the exclusive rights granted by the Copyright Act are limited by several statutory and Constitutional limitations on copyright law. The most well known of these limitations is "fair use". However, the Copyright statute itself sets forth over ten separate limitations on copyright law. To make things even a little easier for you:

What Is Not Protected By Copyright:

Several categories of material are generally not eligible for statutory copyright protection. These include among others:

Works that have NOT been fixed in a tangible form of expression. For example: choreographic works that have not been notated or recorded, or improvisational speeches or performances that have not been written or recorded. Titles, names, short phrases, and slogans familiar symbols or designs mere variations of typographic ornamentation, lettering, or coloring mere listings of ingredients or contents. Ideas, procedures, methods, systems, processes, concepts, principles, discoveries, or devices, as distinguished from a description, explanation, or illustration. Works consisting ENTIRELY OF INFORMATION THAT IS COMMON PROPERTY and containing no original authorship. For example: public information articles, standard calendars, height and weight charts, tape measures and rulers, and lists or tables taken from public documents or other common sources.--Mirror Man (talk) 12:27, 10 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Sonic erotica, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
