Hi TNXMAN307: I'm new to wikipedia, and you deleted Be the Star You Are! for TEENS before I could figure out what you needed. Any way to put it back? Thanks,

Hi Tnxman307,

I updated the the external links on the entry for the Specific Carbohydrate Diet yesterday with two links for websites that contain additional information and resources. You have since removed them as spam. I think they should be left on there, much as a link to the Atkins Diet homepage appears on the entry for Atkins Diet etc. What was the reason for removing those links? Thanks, pmb4 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pmb4 (talkcontribs) 20:56, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The links appeared to be links that are not allowed by Wikipedia policy, specifically point one "Any site that does not provide a unique resource beyond what the article would contain if it became a Featured article". Also, the link about children would probably be better placed in the Autism article. TNXMan 16:14, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

As stated in the policy directly above point one, "Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject". The link to breakingtheviciouscycle.info that you removed was to the official site. Beyond that it provides resources such as a Beginners Guide, Knowledge Base, Legal / Illegal foods list, Links to Doctors and Support Groups that are not included in the Wikipedia entry.

Pecanbread.com is a site strictly about the SCD that is geared toward parents who's children have Autism and or GI problems. It also provides unique resouces such as contacts for SCD counselors, suggestions on how to succeed with the diet, links to SCD research articles. An entire chapter from the book "Breaking the Viscious Cycle" on SCD and Autism is posted as well. The link is specific to the SCD diet but it's not a bad idea to put it on the entry for Autism also. Thanks!Pmb4 (talk) 20:37, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I haven't heard back on this. Is there any problem with me putting the links back up? Thanks Pmb4 (talk) 18:44, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Current big batch of AFCs

Hiya,

Re. Frederick Gant Dunn

There are lots of AFCs all from one IP, all sourced from one single book; there are some issues of concern that affect all of them. Right now, we are tagging them and creating some area where we can discuss the overall situation with the creator - therefore, for now, please don't process any more that have been submitted by 72.74.226.239 (talk · contribs).

We'll put notes on the top; working on that now. Cheers!  Chzz  ►  14:37, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the note you left for the IP after I created that one, so I stopped. FWIW, this person has been around for a while and seems to work in waves. I've created several of their articles over the past few months. Cheers, TNXMan 14:41, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, cheers. The articles are mostly good, but there are some concerns over sourcing and language. The one you created actually did look pretty good to me, but we thought it best to address the issues in one lump, before turning to examine each one for creation. "We" being myself and Earwig (talk · contribs)(redacted, sorry, wrong one) The Earwig (talk · contribs); we were both frantically trying to tag 'em and sort things out :-) So, now, please see Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/batch, where we intend to discuss the articles as a whole. Many thanks,  Chzz  ►  15:00, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OK, two things;
1. Would you object to us undoing your move to the live area of that one article - just so we can keep everything in one place, one discussion, until we resolve the issues on that discussion page? I don't want to undo your creation without your being OK with it.
2. Perhaps it would be better if you could join us in the live chat to discuss this; you can get there with this thing  Chzz  ►  15:16, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to move the page back if necessary. Unfortunately, I can't really monitor IRC from here (I have to jump back and forth between WP and looking productive). However, if you need to help with any of the page moves or anything else, just let me know. TNXMan 15:33, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All neat and tidy; thanks for that. Discussions ongoing, hopefully we can help fix up the concerns and make 'em all soonest. Thx for the cooperation, top stuff.  Chzz  ►  15:52, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No problem and thanks to you and Earwig for working on them! TNXMan 16:12, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As of now, we're working through them - several people making notes on some articles. If you could help, it'd be great. As you can't get on IRC, in case you can help out, I will 'set aside' some articles for you at random - to avoid EC;

We'll take note that those are set-aside, so that if you can work on them, you won't have ECs.

In Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/batch there is an L3 section for each article in the ==Details== section. If you have a little time, please read it, and comment in the L3 section. We're looking at the usual stuff; NPOV, weasel, and anything else you object to.

If you can't, don't have time, no worries. I'll leave those ones free for the next 2 hours in case you can help out. Cheers!

Deletion of Cherry Credits Article

Hello,

I will like to query as to why Cherry Credits article was deleted after one year of it's existence on Wikipedia. The page serves to provide corporate information.

Please contact me via <blanked>

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.12.134.130 (talk) 04:47, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but the article appeared to be advertising for the company and was not supported by reliable sources. Please remember that articles are here to provide encyclopedic info on subjects, not to provide corporate information. You may want to read our info on writing your first article, as that may have some useful tips for you. TNXMan 13:50, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

Basically the article serves to provide information on what is Cherry Credits. If the format is deemed to be written in an advertising manner, I would appreciate if there is some form of notice rather than plain outright deletion.

Ironically, the Cherry Credits article has its format and content modeled to align with similar Wikipedia articles such as the following:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOL_AccessPortal http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AsiaSoft

...Yet these articles are deemed acceptable.

If indeed Cherry Credits article has infringe on what is deemed as advertising in nature and/or providing corporate information, I will suggest that you look into the above articles as well.

If the above articles qualify by your moderation to be acceptable, and Cherry Credits article to be not, then there certainly must be bias objective involved. The format and content style are mirrored.

I hope you will review based on the supporting pointers and note the comparison to the above mentioned. Much appreciated for your advice.

Well, first of all, the status one or more other articles has no bearing on another article. That sort of argument is known as "other stuff exists". Each article is addressed on an individual basis. Secondly, I would encourage you to read our info on writing neutrally, using reliable sources to support your article, and what makes a company notable. TNXMan 17:31, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I believe my reference to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOL_AccessPortal has bearings for contesting the deletion of Cherry Credits article. That is if you have reviewed the content and information on the MOLAccessPortal and compared it to Cherry Credits article. Both service the same business sector with different achievements, history and information. The format in which are information are presented are mirrored.

Hence if one should qualify, has existing links to its company page & information; and Cherry Credits article do not have links to their company's web page, why should the Cherry Credits article be deemed as advertising and this not?

I will like to suggest that you do an active comparison to see how similar both articles are crafted. This will be the lithium test identify if there is double standard moderation.

If this is an honest mistake, I will appreciate if you can revive the Cherry Credits article and I can make amendments on it thereafter if the basis for deletion is lack of supporting resources.

If you standby that the Cherry Credits article is viable for deletion due to advertising, then I suggest you review the other mentioned articles and subject them to your same moderation criteria. However if they are deemed acceptable, I will proceed to re-create Cherry Credits article in similar fashion to them.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 116.15.85.60 (talk) 01:45, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking of IP 81.193.86.122

User:81.193.86.122

This is one of the worst examples of biting the noob I've ever come across. This IP, as it noted in its edit summaries, was simply going around correcting a single image which said in its metadata:

This file has been superseded by File:Flag United Kingdom Portugal Brazil Algarves.svg.
It is recommended that the other file be used.
See this metadata template at Commons, in the form of {{Superseded|Flag United Kingdom Portugal Brazil Algarves.svg}}

He was noting this in his edit summaries, but nonetheless was reverted as "unconstructive," by editors who didn't appear to background check his justification and went across the board and reverted all his edits. Then he was blocked when he reverted again (while explaining in his edit summaries...). I reverted one back to the proper image before I realized the extent of this little "kafuffle;" before noticing he was reverted across the board and then blocked. I don't know if I'm going to bother going and fixing all his edits, I commented on the talk pages of the two users who reverted him (who apparently didn't even display a modicum of AGF, plus neglected a few other policies), stating they should at least apologize on the IP's talk page (he may never come back though), and fix the edits they reverted. An unblock and an apology would be in line, I think.

Thanks for your time and consideration, Peace and Passion ("I'm listening....") 00:11, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
PS I should qualify that I misread slightly this issue. One IP was blocked and reverted (User:81.193.93.130), the other noted all of his edits and was reverted across the board. Sorry for the miscommunication.

Leniency

One week? You are a gracious soul... did you check their past contribs? We edit conflicted as I as indeffing. I'm holding you personally responsible for any vandalism when they return ;-) Tan | 39 14:34, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh noes, the weight of responsibility! :) Actually, if you would like to ramp it up to indef, feel free. I wasn't sure if s/he was a committed POV pusher or just a frustrated user. TNXMan 14:40, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, yer fine, I was just amused. Carry on, soldier. Tan | 39 14:42, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Someone contested the deletion after the page was deleted. Should the article be restored now and a discussion started or an undeletion discussion started or that page deleted? A talk page without a page can't be, right? Hekerui (talk) 14:41, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted the talk page per WP:CSD#G8. Thanks for the heads up! TNXMan 15:04, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I had a talk with editor Jclemens yesterday regarding the content of the page. I informed him that this content was a citation of the award which Dr. Gujar had got. I am his grandson and can vouch that it does not infringe on any copyrights. He said I could go ahead and put the article back again with some changes. I have rephrased the original article and added some more information which was not present earlier. As far as advertising goes, I do not see how writing an article on a man who is no more with us qualifies as advertising ? The article just states facts and the awards he has won. (Hadapsar (talk) 14:48, 27 August 2009 (UTC))[reply]

I'm sorry, but sentences like "He was a rare example of how a modest medical man with his untiring efforts, sincerity of purpose and above all strong will power can become true missionary of integral rural development and serve the people." really have no place in an encyclopedia. I would encourage you to read our info on writing from a neutral point of view and our tips on writing your first article. TNXMan 15:06, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This guy is an ad company exec with a major COI problem. Thanks for rejecting his spam. --Orange Mike | Talk 00:14, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, happy to help. TNXMan 03:05, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and hi

Thanks for blocking that account. Does the block ban the ip address as well? From experience Mwalla will just create account after account after account if not. I think one of the ips was only blocked for 3 or 6 months and the ban has expired, so he is back now.--Literaturegeek | T@1k? 18:38, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He is also using these usernames, User:Abcdohrayme and User:Punctuallylate.--Literaturegeek | T@1k? 18:43, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. If you're referring to Neurofish, I only declined his unblock request (no reason for unblocking provided). I'm not very familiar with Mwalla and his/her edits. What leads you to believe the other two editors are connected? TNXMan 18:53, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know because of behavioural evidence, editing patterns, how they know words like NPOV and other things, they act like established editors when they are new, they edit war over the sam content and all 3 accounts appeared out of no where with the same POV, misrepresenting refs, same disruptive tactics on paroxetine article. I can usually spot Mwalla on his first edit LOL, this has been going on for over a year now. You could get a bit off history of the issue by reading the sockpuppet archive if you are interested.Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Mwalla/Archive Blocking hiis other accounts might help but I really need the ip addresses listed in the sockpuppet investigation archive reblocked as he has a habit of churning out multiple accounts in a very short period of time. His ip block has expired that tiptoey gave. It is a shame that tiptoey is no longer a checkuser as tiptoey was familar with the case and used to just approve checkuser pretty much straight away due to the persistence of Mwalla and severity of sockpuppetry.--Literaturegeek | T@1k? 19:02, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Well, I understand that you're familiar with the situation (trust me, there's another user with whom I am familiar enough to spot a mile away), but I don't feel comfortable enough with the behavior/patterns to hand out blocks. Sorry. :( You may want to file a checkuser request, though. TNXMan 19:33, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting an overturn to this deletion

of Melissa Palmer, M.D.

  • This gastroenterologist is widely known throughout the US. She is a published author, whose books have been the NY Times best seller list in multiple years, having sold more than 20K copies in a year (the chief requirement to get on the best-seller list).
  • The article provides numerous citations from renown medical journals academic publications.
  • The subject is clearly notable. I mean, there is no gray area here. She has been cited by many other Wikipedia authors, all of whom are independent of the subject.
  • Furthermore, on the second AfD debate, the writer made every attempt to follow the editorial consensus is revising/wikifying the article, and it was still deleted.

Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club

The only copyright on this page asserted was that of the photos. This is a public domain site. Also, there has been a hyperlink to the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club for years. Now if you are insisting on original work alone, that is a different case, but describing it as a blatant infringement was a little over exuberant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elgringograndelatte (talkcontribs) 22:56, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but in order to copy material like that, it must be explicitly released to the public domain. The instructions on this page should be able to help you. You may also want to read our information on advertising and why it's not allowed. TNXMan 14:50, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Leaderboy

I posted Leaderboy on wikipedia.

I am leaderboy, i make electronic music and people want to hear it. I thought it would be helpful to have Leaderboy listed on here. Myspace is my official website and an official remix i have done has been blogged on Hype machine. these were reliable references. The subject matter was short and factual. How else do i list myself as an electronic music artist on here?

Before creating an article, please search Wikipedia first to make sure that an article does not already exist on the subject. Please also review a few of our relevant policies and guidelines with which all articles should comply. As Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, articles must not contain original research, must be written from a neutral point of view, should cite reliable sources which verify their content and must not contain unsourced, negative content about living people.
Articles must also demonstrate the notability of the subject. Please see our subject specific guidelines for people, bands and musicians, companies and organizations and web content and note that if you are closely associated with the subject, our conflict of interest guideline strongly recommends against you creating the article.
If you still think an article is appropriate, see Help:Starting a new page. Appogy deletion

No explanation on why you decided to delete a work in progress. besides G11. Unambiguous advertising or promotion. which could be stated for any company listed on wikipedia including wikipedia because that is what it is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.131.177.81 (talk) 16:41, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unless Tnxman is prescient, he's not going to know what the heck you're talking about. What article? Who are you? This is your first edit from this IP. Also, you might want to give poor Sinebot a break and sign your posts. Tan | 39 16:44, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well if you can't read the topic for the article is Appogy deletion. And I am a first time user trying to help build wikipedia, why are you so negative? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.131.177.81 (talk) 16:46, 30 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Everybody is so very quick to delete on wikipedia and seemingly nobody wants to help, how much content should an article have before its posted? I have seen wikipedia entries with less then two lines. And its hard to not self promote when its an article regarding a company. Is that not strange?

Hi. We just notice that our today's start up page "Surf in Pichilemu", was remove. We are Pichilemu.com the official surf tourism from Pichilemu town, a non-profit organization which helps to conserve the natural environments and cultural resources in the Pichilemu area.

Please advice the reasons why you are assuming that we are "advertising" or we are providing content with non sense.
