Deletion of the majority of the FN FAL

You have removed a significant amount of material from the FN FAL page. I and others have spent a signifianct amount of our personal time over many years contributing to this page. The random deletions you have made now renders the page confusing, incomplete, and of much less value.

What are you plans to correct this?

Why should we contribute our time as a Subject Matter Expert if our effort is to be deleted?

I've removed most of the material because it was not sourced. Wikipedia is not a place for original research and all material in articles must be reliably sourced. If you have reliable sources for material, let's discuss it on the article's talk page. TNXMan 19:02, 23 November 2010 (UTC)

Actually, no. The section to which you linked is specifically for article talk pages. If you scroll down, there is a section specifically for "user" talk pages, and it does not list any restrictions on headers. Hi Tnxman... about a month ago, you ran a checkuser on User:Dashing boy31, which resulted in an indefinite block for him and his sockpuppets... Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Dashing boy31/Archive. He now appears to be avoiding the block, editing as User:UnbeatableIndia2020. SuperAwesome question

If you wouldn't mind, I'm trying out my bit, and want to make sure I'm following a reasonable process. (I was going to pick on a differnt admin, but as you were involved in this one, it made sense to ocme to you.) I saw User:SuperAwesomeYeah in the Username attention list. I looked enough to see that it refers to the name of a t-shirt store. So a straightforward indefinite block is in order. (I still wish we could find a gentler way to accomplish this, but that's a post for another time and place).

However, I see User:SuperAwesomeYeah/SuperAwesomeYeah, a draft in progress. Spammy as is, but not in mainspace. I urge editors all the time to start drafts in user space - they still have to avoid copyvio and attacks, but they don't have to meet notability and eliminate spam right away, they have until they are ready to move to main space. It isn't in article space, so it isn't a CSD candidate or even an Afd. If it belongs anywhere, it belongs at MfD. Technically, the blocked editor could create an acceptable new name and continue working on this draft. I won't bet a nickel it will ever be cleaned up enough, but I don't think that's for us to say. I generally like to give editors with a user space draft a year with no activity before I would MfD it.

However, it would seem odd to have to wait a year, or whatever interval is usually appropriate in this case. The editor may come back with a new name, and start a new user draft in their new user subpage, whether starting from scratch or copying this material. If that happens, this can go. The editor might continue editing this page in its current location, in which case there will be activity and nothing to do. Or the editor might ask for the current draft to be moved to a new user subpage, but is not likely to know to ask. I'm tempted to post something to their talk page.

Sorry, I'm rambling a bit, but wondering if there is an established procedure in this case. I note the New_admin_school discusses blocking of inappropriate usernames, but offers no guidance regarding userspace drafts. The standard procedure is... not established! I think your idea of posting them a note about the draft and what their next steps would be is a great idea. We may be able to incorporate that into the softerblock message (the one that I used), perhaps as a switch. Your reason listed is (A7: Article about a company, corporation, organization, or group, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject) Which can not be true as A local Ground Search and Rescue team quite obviously has to do with Search and Rescue.

Glad to see someone who is happy to help out an organization which is on call 24/7 365 doesnt get paid and risks their lives to save others who have gone and gotten lost or injured.

About deletion of StNotepad Touch article

Hi,

I am multi-touch user. I am impressed with StNotepad Touch software which has been released few days back. Since Multi-touch is one of the latest technology and I found this software as the first of Multi-touch text editor, I don't want to miss the chance of posting article on Wikipedia.

First I have prepared the article in text format by meeting your standards of text editor articles. Then I tried to post in Wikipedia while posting I tried to upload the image after adding that text. Hence I saved the page, then I tried to upload the images but I did not have the permission. I continued editing the article within that time I got a warning that it has been deleted. I tried to rebuild the page, but it has been deleted. So, please inform me what are the contents I have to remove, since you have mentioned that (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion). I tried to maintain the standards of other text editors article in wikipedia. I dont want to miss the opportunity to write on StNotepad Touch, as I mentioned earlier "Multi-touch is one latest technology and I found this as first Multi-touch text editor". I'm sorry, but your article was deleted because it was advertising. Phrases like "...precisely designed for editing normal text on multi-touch machines. This software's aesthetic look and feel is competing with the beauty of modern laptops, tablet and slate pcs." do not belong on a neutrally written encyclopedia. Hi,

I removed the sentences you have mentioned, I searched for other sentences like them but I did not find them at that time. But the article got deleted again. Later I searched again and again I found that "Hence this software can be used as a surrogate for favourites in web browsers." and "This menu has been designed with multi-touch devices in mind, to provide intuitive access to common editor functions." .

I tried to recreate the article but it has been blocked. What are the next steps I have to take? Is there any other problem in the article, should I remove the cnet and softpedia links from the reference?

I would encourage you to read our guide to writing your first article and write a draft of the article in your userspace (something like User:Creativeforce1985/Sandbox). This will allow you to work on the article before moving it to the mainspace. TNXMan 15:35, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

I can only really speak for myself, but when I use  Unlikely, I mean there may some sort of scenario where the two accounts are the same, but the chances of it are slim. Say, for example, one user's IP geolocates to California and one user's IP geolocates to Michigan. Is it possible they edited in California, hopped on a plane, got to Michigan, and started editing with a new account? Maybe, but it's really... well, unlikely. The article I posted is disabled for recreation, I have modified the article by removing the sentences those are provoking advertise. What is the next step I have to take?

Can you expand on why you do not believe the evidence is convincing? Please do not if it borders on outing or anything like that, of course. To me it appears more likely than unlikely but I understand that it is not at all clear. Is it possible to run the checkuser (if you did not) or would that not be appropriate and/or not possible for some reason?

I would advise you to read our info on writing your first article, as well as what makes a company notable enough to warrant an article. I would also suggest you write a draft in your userspace (something like User:Skyriazakos/Sandbox) so you can work on improving the article before moving it to the mainspace. I have given the references as its homepage, softpedia and cnet. But in the Notetab article references is not provided and only the external links are provided which involves its homepage, its company website and some discussion groups.

Hi There,

Thank you for getting in touch RE the OneKind page. I work for the charity and the page is very much out of date, we have rebranded as OneKind and many of the sections are no longer relevant. Is there any way I can edit this to demonstrate the new era for the organisation? If not, is the easiest option to have it deleted altogether?

Hi. I've tried to keep some of the changes you've made, as they do appear to be relevant (changing name to OneKind, updating the title, etc.). However, other changes you have made appear to be promotional material, which is not allowed. You should also read our information on conflict of interest, since you indicate you work for the organization in question. OneKind - Follow up

Thank you for the advice, I did not read the material around Wikipedia properly and I apologise for that. Sorry.

Is it possible to have a couple of bits of information deleted, they are the main areas of concern. We are no longer associated with Jane Goodall. In addition, the article identifies the Duke as being active. Unfortunately, he sadly passed away in June and the Duchess is active.

It says "Advocates for Animals in its current form was established in 1990", it would be better as "OneKind was formerly Adovcates for Animals, which exited from 1990 to 2010."

Our logo on the article also still says "Advocates for Animals". Our new logo is available at our Facebook page www.facebook.com/onekindfb

If your five programs have been mentioned in an independent reliable source (which describes the program, not a re-print of a press release, etc.), they can certainly be included. I've updated some of the information you mentioned, including the logo. TNXMan 19:28, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

The best idea is to add reliable sources. The info you've added appears to be factually correct, but is unsourced. You should also read our information on conflict of interest, as that appears to apply to you. Remember, Wikipedia should be a neutral record of facts, not promotional material for the program. You'll need to be registered for four days and made at least ten edits. Be careful, though - images are very tricky. I would suggest reading our image use policy as well as this page (in case you want to donate copyrighted pictures). TNXMan 21:17, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
