Pictures

Perhaps there could be attached some pictures? Theres five official pictures out... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.108.254.244 (talk) 19:05, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

Someone should comment further on the released screenshots. There's a lot of factual information in them that can be posted here, including "Empire City Transport", seen on the back of a bus, indicating the possible name of the City that the game will take place in. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.211.220.56 (talk) 05:29, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That would be original research. Cite reliable sources to illustrate those facts if you find any.--Svetovid 20:18, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About

the whole about section is bs. all this rambling about something as unimportant as the ability of changing clothes... the whole section demonstrates that there really isn't anything we know about this game yet —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 91.64.213.126 (talk) 18:45, August 23, 2007 (UTC)

Trailer

Rock and roll? Sounded a more like jive to me--Cyhborg 12:07, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I removed music entirely. First, it's trivial, and second it's original research.--Svetovid 14:46, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lost Heaven

Could it be that this sequel will take place in Lost Heaven, the same town where the events of the original Mafia game took place? Does anyone have any evidence that support or disproof this theory? 212.161.93.3 09:58, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This screenshot has a bus with "Empire City Transport" on it's back, so the game would probably be taking place in Empire City. GodfatherTalk02:12, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's still original research.--Svetovid 10:56, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delayed

IGN: Take-Two News. Should we chuck it in the article? Delayed until 2009. GRiM-reapa (talk) 09:08, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Premise & Mentioned Features

These 2 sections were added randomly, and dont cite any sources

I havent seen anywhere on the internet or magazine any mention of any of these things that are written in these two sections

I think we should delete these sections until proven otherwise

I've cleaned some of the grammer and spelling to match the language form for Wikipedia. 172.143.205.226 (talk) 19:06, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Europe release only?

I notice that this article has been assigned to the Europe exclusive video games category. Is this correct? Are citations needed for categories? ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 10:37, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Amazon.com Release Date

I noticed on the Amazon.com pages for Mafia II (Xbox 360 and PS3) the release date is October 31, 2008. It has been listed as the release date for a long time now, Amazon is usually always correct, I think it should be included in the article. Here are the links to verify my find.

Mafia II (Xbox 360)- http://www.amazon.com/Mafia-II-Xbox-360/dp/B000ZK698C/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1219519511&sr=8-2

Mafia II (PS3)- http://www.amazon.com/Mafia-II-Playstation-3/dp/B00198PO5I/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1219519511&sr=8-1

General Mannino (talk) 19:30, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sites such as Amazon are generally considered not to be reliable sources for release dates as they often use estimates. It would probably be best to wait until it is officially announced. Although, in WP:VG/DATE it says that "Care should be taken in stating release dates. Many commercial gaming sites, such as GameSpot, IGN, and 1UP.com, supply accurate dates, as well as vendor sites such as Amazon.com or GameStop". I believe this refers to dates given after the game has been released but I'm not sure. ChimpanzeeUK - User | Talk | Contribs 23:40, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't recall Amazon.com never being reliable, it usually always has the accurate release dates. General Mannino (talk) 02:17, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the video interview with Denby Grace, towards the end he says (quote) 'Mafia 2 is scheduled for a sort of 4/2009 release'. Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvQ2UlEXkfk This is the most reliable source as he is the PRODUCER of the game... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.32.56.17 (talk) 04:30, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pre-rendered cutscenes

It says in the article that the cutscenes were pre-rendered in Mafia I, yet they aren't - they are done in real time as a 'cut scene'. MGD11 17:35, March 07, 2009 (GMT)

Corrected now --Jvs.cz (talk) 16:29, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

allot of people have the set-idea that the word cutscenes means pre-renderd scene, mainly thanks to Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony for showing allot of footage as if it's in-game `it wasn´t just sony who did it!`Markthemac (talk) 20:48, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

System requirements: rumors

Minimal:

Processor: Pentium IV 2.25GHz or equivalent or better

RAM: 1GB (Vista 1.5 GB)

HDD: 6 GB

GPU: 256MB (GeForce 7600 or better)

You may periodically search the Internet for this data, waiting for the moment when it becomes pretty much official somewhere, if it will. --Lumidek (talk) 06:35, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reference to the Godfather, maybe?

It's only an assumption, but if you'd read the plot, it states that the player Vito Scaletta has just returned from world war II. It's only opinion but, this is similar to Micheal Corleones return from World War II in The Godfather. Also Vito was the first name of Don Corleone. Should we mention this, and maybe reference it? I'm only asking because in the Marketing and release section, the game makes references to The Goodfella's. The Godfather and Goodfella's are the only movies I know of that would inspire a game much like this. Not to mention, the setting is the same. It's just my opinion, though. Like I said. I just see some similarities, that's all. --Shadow6Wolf66 (talk) 23:53, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mafia II was influenced by a bunch of gangster movies--including The Godfather and Godfellas, that's what I read from a video game magazine (and fansite). So, The Godfather and Goodfellas aren't the only movies that inspired this game. I wish I could find that info again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.29.121.252 (talk) 13:49, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I consider it the references to just be coincidences, then. But once you find this link, could you please post it?--Shadow6Wolf66 (talk) 16:52, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
