GEDitCOM is genealogy software written and distributed by RSAC Software, a privately held firm established by John Nairn in 1984 and located in Corvallis, Oregon since 2006. The company writes software primarily for the Mac OS.

GEDitCOM provides methods to input, manipulate and view information about a family history. It includes options to produce charts depicting family relationships and to produce Web pages for publishing a family history online. It allows integration of photographs, scanned documents and other multimedia works into GEDitCOM family files.

GEDitCOM is known for native support of GEDCOM files[1], for its customizability and extensibility through Applescript.

Reunion version history

GEDitCOM II v1.0' was announced[2] with a revamped website in May 2009. This version represented a complete rewrite of GEDitCOM 3.8 as a universal binary Cocoa-based application, which runs under OS X 10.4 and higher. New features include Applescript support and a "multi-window" design, allowing index and source windows to remain open for easy access.

"GEDitCOM v1.0" was announced in August 1999. Successive incremental releases were provided periodically, with the last (and final) version being in June 2009, numbered 3.82.
