Later graduate courses in Chemical Engineering (1965), Architecture (1984), Electronics (1985), Information Technology, Computer Science and Technology (2000), Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering (2003) were also started. This cell started some significant work in the year 2006-07 through the untiring efforts of self motivated students of NIT Raipur to provide better placements and career options to the passing out batch. It was a tough job to search for HR and alumni in top positions and create brand equity of NIT Raipur students. An official "Placement Cell", was formed which looks after the process of placements here. The placement cell is completely handled by students themselves and results have been encouraging. With the first batch of NIT now in fourth year, faculty as well as students expect a good campus selection in college.
