Dora the Explorer?

I'm pretty sure that Hugo Weaving does NOT provide any voices in Dora the Explorer. A quick search on Google offers no clues, so I can't find a citation. Basically, I think this warrants deletion. --Swotboy2000 00:55, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My Nigerian Brother, Hugo Weaving :)

As the creator of the "People of Nigerian heritage" page, I didn't exactly have someone like Hugo Weaving in mind when I did! However, Nigerians in general are a very friendly and accommodating people...and after all, Hugo was born in Nigeria, so...welcome, my Nigerian brother! :) :) :) -- Jalabi99 09:16, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't class him as being of Nigerian heritage, that very specifically refers to a native Nigerian blood line. Then again, somebody added Eddie Murphy to alist of Irish-Americans.... --MartinUK 17:53, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

you could actually argue he is english or british. since his parents were both english and he was born in nigeria (which had, at the time of his birth, not gained its independence from britain)86.135.164.200 19:26, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Bali Project

i don't see any movie information about the bali project starring hugo weaving in imdb. is this a correct information? HoneyBee 04:47, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Bali Bali Bali

We need to figure out a new way to put: "As of October 2005 he is currently in Bali filming The Bali Project which is a movie about the 2002 Bali Bombing." It has Bali in it way too many times.--Roosmacfan 02:08, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clearer Smith Picture?

I'm as big a fan of the rain scene as the next person, but should there perhaps be a clearer picture of Agent Smith, without blurry raindrops? 67.142.130.32 06:22, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I really think that this page should have a picture of Hugo Weaving himself on it! --P-Chan 22:10, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you that this article needs a picture of Hugo himself. While the current image is great, I believe that it would be more fitting on the "Agent Smith" page. (That's my 2 cents worth anyway.) | ProfPano 15:23, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone change the picture of Hugo Weaving to a new one? The one being used right now is cropped poorly and doesn't exactly flatter Mr. Weaving very well. Djseifer 23:46, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I wish someone would change that picture, I have a better one in mind, and it's from the same premiere, I just don't know how to contact someone to change it, so if you can change it feel free to email me at vendetta_in_the_matrix@yahoo.com and I'll show you the picture I have in mind. Phvan4ever 21:57 2, April 2007 (UTC)

OK, an interview with Weaving from the Sydney Morning Herald, published April 3rd 2006, states the TV mini-series (not actually a film) about the Bali bombing was delayed when the Indonesian Government permits were revoked in October 2005, just before shooting was due to start. The project may yet go ahead, but I have removed the reference because its incorrect.

V for Vendetta

Should it be noted that although Weaving was the main character in V for Vendetta, that his face is never actually seen throughout the entire film? Surely that has to be extremely rare for a recognizable actor to be in a film and never be seen. Look at Darth Vader for instance - he was in all three of the original Star Wars films, but nobody even knew the actor who portrayed him. People know James Earl Jones was the voice, but the actual actor is unrecognizable to anyone other than a huge fan of the films.

Not at all. Most people in the UK over the age of 35 are familiar with Dave Prowse through his Green Cross Code Man character. We may not see his face or hear his voice in the Star Wars films but we certainly know who he is what he looks like and what he sounds like even if we aren't particularly fond of Star Wars. -- Derek Ross | Talk 00:21, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No way, the first anonymous person was right. He's best known as Agent Smith and Elrond, not the others 91.104.84.100 (talk) 21:19, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-encyclopedic Opinion-piece

[quote] "The international press likes to state that they are married to keep up an image of propriety" [unquote]

This is a speculative opinion which feels like a very partial view. It's certainly not encyclopedic. Therefore, I have deleted it.

On the one hand, we don't know what the international press "likes" or does not "like" to do (not least of which, because the "International Press" is not a single being). On the other hand, unless we can provide references to support the claim that journalists "state that they are married to keep up an image of propriety", this too warrants deletion.

(I won't mention the obvious fact that the Press in general has no issues with "propriety" and doesn't usually lie to make facts more acceptable to conservative members of society. By this line of reasoning dictated by propriety, Prince William doesn't live with his girlfriend, Tom-and-Cate didn't have Suri out of wedlock, and Brad and Anjelina were married by the Pope...)

Nigeria? or Australia?

Why does the article state at the top that he was born in Nigeria but states under "Biography" that he was "born in Australia?" Get the right info and change it...

Change the picture

Can we get a real photo of him, preferably a picture not taken from a movie? Even him off camera on set, like behind the scenes would be better JayKeaton 16:15, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First choice for Vendetta? Who was the actual first choice of actor to play V? Your link to Purejoy has contradicting information than what you say here. I agree with others -- better picture needed. ___ Has anyone noticed that he first recieves international attention twice?

Infobox

Just added actor infobox, help with stuff there please. -- Walter Humala - Emperor of West Wikipedia|wanna Talk? 05:17, 18 December 2006 (UTC

You should remove Frodo, Kevin and Mumble as notables roles. - Jane-2118 December 2006
I removed Frodo Baggins, Kevin and Mumble from Infobox. - Jane-2118 December 2006

Hugo Weaving's Birth year is listed as 1981, his first appearance is listed as 1980 and i don't think he could have played the role of Jardine at age 3 (1984). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sachin27 (talkcontribs). 15:29, 18 December 2006

Yes, that does seem unlikely. :) I fixed it. Garion96 (talk) 21:19, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Elrond11.jpg

Image:Elrond11.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:48, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Music video appearance?

I seem to remember seeing Weaving in a music video a few years back. He was much, much younger (I think the video was from the early 80s). It sounds weird to say it, but in the video he was like a were-tranny, slowly being transformed from a man into a woman. I cannot for the life of me remember what song the video was for. Has anyone else seen this? Or was it actually Weaving? It could have been someone who just looks like him (although...what are the odds of that?). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.67.93.133 (talk) 15:16, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Filmography

Why does the filmography show up in the external links section? the code appears to be inputted correctly, but for some reason the filmography section is blank, while the data shows up in the external links section (where the source data is not)? i can't be the only one having this problem, can i? Thanks. Srwm4 (talk) 04:29, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because a vandal removed a section of the code. I have restored it. --DFS454 (talk) 10:28, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
