Winter Palace

Hi, you were very helpful last time, how can I tell if this image is free [1]. it says all rights reserved, but it is not lit up in green like the thing below it, does that mean it is not copyright? Giano (talk) 08:35, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

For removing the SD's on my OSU pages. I know they're measly stubs, but I've got a lot of time in those - the scoreboard templates are pretty complicated in particular, and it's tough to keep up on who played in what stadium in 1939 etc. I figured others could come along and add improvements - or even consolidate into "by decade" articles or something - but I never dreamed my contributions would just get thrown away! --JaGatalk 11:01, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And again!

Arctic Exploration

Dear Iain99, I was impressed by your Coppermine Expedition of 1819–1822. I'm working on an overview of Royal Navy Arctic expeditions (hence the Navbox template). If you're interested, you can find the prototype at User:Shem1805/Workbox8. Please feel free to get stuck in, suggest stuff or just plain ignore it! Yours, Shem (talk) 22:51, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Iain99, I may ask you to proof read for me when I've finished, if you don't mind. However, like you, I will struggle to get much done in the near future, I suspect. Yours, Shem (talk) 21:15, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for John Franklin

Updated DYK query On 13 December, 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article John Franklin, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

It's just a suggestion, not policy. If the iPhone issue is ignored, people will exploit it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.192.100.83 (talk) 20:36, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A thing of beauty

is a joy forever. I shall forgo earthly pleasures and henceforth devote my life to the Way. This article has been rated as B-Class on the Project's quality scale ×3. Oh yes. -- Hoary (talk) 15:32, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, yes, before that poor article was so wantonly dismembered and stubbified, it was quite special. B-Class? Well, given that I'm just grateful when my efforts get rated Start-Class (sniff) I suppose I can't really criticise... but it does tend to support my general view of the usefulness of the article grading system. Sigh. Not that I'm bitter, you understand. Iain99Balderdash and piffle 19:08, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help with BLPs!

The BLP Barnstar
Your hard work on BLPs in general, and at User:Lar/Liberal Semi specifically, is much appreciated. That page has now been sunsetted (and I hope never to need to bring it back) but the work you did there (whether by bringing articles forward, reviewing them, or protecting them... or even by questioning or criticizing the process!) was of great help to the project. See you in the trenches! ++Lar: t/c 01:49, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Indian POV on Nanga Parbat article again

Hey freind could you please have a look at this article and remove the Indian pov pushers material from the location section cheers 86.151.123.103 (talk) 23:30, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Not again. It's very tiresome. I don't even mind the edit-warring so much as the completely indiscriminate swapping of "India" and "Pakistan", so articles like K2 end up claiming that there was a border agreement between India and China in 1968. Sigh... Iain99Balderdash and piffle 12:29, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hey thanks mate atleast someone has the logical mind to remove trashy pov its a shame that admins who protect these articles like k2 and nanga parbat turn a blind eye towards this blatant pov just because they are of certain heritage like yellowmonkey sigh indeed cheers and good luck 86.162.67.113 (talk) 15:54, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Its the same for the Himalaya article in the section containing glaciers some nationalist idiot renamed the image of k2 and its glaciers as being within india when its clearly in Pakistan!!! 86.162.67.113 (talk) 15:56, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
