Perya Pilipinas (Philippine Carnival) is a Philippine noontime music/variety show aired by GMA Network. The show airs from 11:45 am-3pm on Sundays. The show is broadcast from Studio 7 at the GMA Network Studios. The show replaced the long-running, SOP.[1][2] It's said to have better performances and have all of GMA Network's talents to air on the show.
Overview
Party Pilipinas is now going to be an "all-party and all-positive vibes" show, according to the Corporate Communications Department of GMA-7 and the show's new production manager, Ruth Mariñas. Mariñas takes over the post of Ramel David, who in turn replaced Hazel Abonita. Director Louie Ignacio will now have a co-director and creative manager, Paul Basinillo, a seasoned music video director who helmed some projects for Sarah Geronimo and other young singers. Four musical directors will alternate every week, two of whom will be Raul Mitra and Danny Tan. Geleen Eugenio will hand over the choreography to her son Miggy, but she will become the chief adviser of the new choreographers coming from different school organizations, which will be given the chance to show off their dancing skills. The Party will start on March 28, 2010.[3][4] Through an interview via Chika Minute in 24 Oras, Ogie Alcasid stated that Party Pilipinas will circle the entire country and hopefully the whole world. [5]
The show had it's initial debut on Philippine national television through a primer show entitled "Party Pilipinas: Your Exclusive Invite"[6] which was shown on Saturday primetime on March 27, 2010. It was hosted by new party jocks Bela Padilla, Maria Dolonius and Gwen Zamora. It showed 10 interesting trivias about the new show and a sneak peek in the show's rehearsals going into the pilot episode.
