Old Question

I just came across a question you asked from April - you asked if a musician has received endorsements/sponsorship from notable companies, would this fit into the notability guidelines somehow? and an editor answered you however they were wrong in their answer. This is already part of the guidelines for music. Wikipedia:Notability_(music) states in section 1 that if a musical act Has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable they may be considered notable. However if you read it adds criteria and says except for the following: and states Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising. This means simply because someone has some form of endorsement deal it does not make them automatically notable. 24.149.48.112 (talk) 16:02, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cricket. I note your interest in Yanni's article and wonder if you have any better sources? At present, the main sources appear to be either self-published or other wise affliated with him. See my comments on the talk page (you can answer there, rather than here). Thanks. --Jubilee♫clipman 22:20, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Cricket02! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 729 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. David Levin (singer) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Ric Wake has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

BLP unsourced since at least February 2007. Marginal notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Bearian (talk) 19:31, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Vann Johnson, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Vann Johnson. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Alan - talk 02:10, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

Hi. You're mentioned in the discussion near the top of this thread, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Composers/Infoboxes RfC#Two questions, and might like to comment there, and/or give input elsewhere in the rfc. I won't elaborate, in order to keep it neutral. Thanks :) -- Quiddity (talk) 19:58, 27 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated New Age Music & New Sounds Vol. 67 – "Liberty", an article that you created, for deletion. You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Karanacs (talk) 17:00, 15 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Ric wake/Bonnie Bailey Pages

I have no idea what I'm doing and could really use some help! Ric's page is up for deletion and I have no idea what I can do as a few months back the same happened to Bonnie's and I stumbled around trying to make it "correct" but it was deleted anyway and now sits in my sandbox because I don't know how to make the corrections required. It looks like You have this procedure down and it may be something simple that I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Thank you for offering to help out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Contemporary music. Any little you can do will certainly be appreciated. Copy editing is probably one of the most important processes on WP, behind sourcing, in fact so help there is especially useful. We have a large (huge, indeed) number of articles on composers many of which are pure self-promo and should really be deleted but a small number are on genuinely notable people. It is those latter articles that need work. I'll try to sort through them all as best I can and get back to you. Glad to have you on board! Any ideas on reworking our project page, BTW?
