3 Edit rule

The 3 edit rule applies to you not to me. I've noticed two handles, which I suspect belong to the same person, simply blanking out my edits rather than making any constructive changes. Fgpilot (talk) 04:57, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Utter Codswallop. You've got a history of edit warring on WP. —SpacemanSpiff 04:57, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Personal attack. Unprofessional edits. A perfect case for ban. Fgpilot (talk) 05:01, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No personal attack. Any statement that's nonsense, qualifies to be called that. period. As for your history of edit warring, Mahabharata is another example. 05:03, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Editors and especially admins like User:SpacemanSpiff still need to behave in a civil manner per the same WP:Spade. Calling someone or somebody's content names like "codswallop", "nonsense" doesn't help. Zuggernaut (talk) 20:12, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Utter nonsense, when someone says that some random editor that I have had no interaction with is a sockpuppet, that's plainly nonsense and deserves to be termed as that. That's not content, period. —SpacemanSpiff 20:16, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi spacemanSpiff, thank you for reverting the changes made by someone who did not bother to log in, in fact this article is under attack from some people who are not ready to discuss the factual accuracy of the article, they would simply revert the article without giving any reason. If you have any knowledge about the topic, can you please give your opinion in the discussion going on in discussion page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jogibaba (talkcontribs) 18:49, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have much idea about this, just checked the BLP vios that's all. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 20:40, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Objections...

Hi,

You seem to be an experienced user of the site. I need your help with a certain article which is full of crap and without citations History of Kashmir. Please look at the part which talks about Hari Singh... I've written the following in the discussion forum of the article:

1)

I object to the following lines about Hari Singh

--Amartya ray2001 (talk) 00:44, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Maharajah Hari Singh never represented the will of his subjects, creating tension between the Hindu rulers and the Muslim population of Kashmir. Muslims in Kashmir detested him, as they were heavily taxed and had grown tired of his insensitivity to their religious concerns. The Dogra rule (the name of the municipal governments) had excluded Muslims from the civil service and the armed services. Islamic religious ceremonies were taxed. Historically, Muslims were banned from organizing politically, which would only be tolerated beginning in the 1930s. In 1931, in response to a sermon that had tones of opposition to the government, the villages of Jandial, Makila, and Dana were ransacked and destroyed by the Dogra army, with their inhabitants burned alive.

Excuse me! How can you write such things about the former head of a state without any citation? I think and am convinced that this section has been written by an radical person with mere colloquial knowledge about the subject! I this matter needs to be escalated with immediate effect. I shall also remove that part of it! --Amartya ray2001 (talk) 00:44, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2)

Why not forced conversation of Hindus? --Amartya ray2001 (talk) 00:51, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I draw the attention of the Mods and Admins to the following article: Persecution of Hindus ... It's a well written article and has has citations in proper places. That passage needs to be re-established. I shall escalated this matter to the Mods immediately but not edit it yet!

--Amartya ray2001 (talk) 00:51, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Someone needs to intervene immediately and rectify those errors! I'll scan through the entire site (whenever I've the time)to try and bring such issues to your...

Regards,... Amartya ray2001 (talk) 01:05, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look soon. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 08:15, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I request you to review the article and provide appropriate rating to the article. Also we are pleased to receive your views / feedback for improvement of the article. ----Raj 6644(தமிழன்) 06:16, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ramakrishnan Wikipedia entry

I want to thank you for patiently preventing people from making irrelevant and bogus entries to my wikipedia page. Sincerely Venki Ramakrishnan —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.111.85.79 (talk) 11:01, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your note. I would strongly encourage you to create an account as it provides several benefits. You can also verify your identity through our WP:OTRS system. As you change IPs quite often, and many of those have stacks of vandalism prior to it (e.g. the IP you used while in Bombay), it is often difficult to identify what is a bogus edit and what's a genuine first person edit. Also, it alerts our editors to the fact that the subject of the article is also active on the page. Another academic with an article (David Eppstein) is also an active Wikipedia editor and as you can see he contributes to his article through talk page postings. Hope you see this! cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 13:22, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I was referring to the title of that reference(which says 60%) which is wrongly added by someone, I didnt verified, When I checked the book it was 42%. Anyways thanks for correcting. KuwarOnline Talk 13:36, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, it's just that the IP did what none of us regular editors of the page ever did for at least six months that this misrepresentation of a source was on -- check up on a reference. It always helps to verify the edit in such cases, especially here where of the four edits that the IP made, three of them were definitely clean, so the fourth being bad is unlikely. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 13:40, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

re:Speedy deletion declined: Eugène Cremmer

This is an article i feel is needing to be deleted, because it has had the {{BLP unsourced}} added to it over 1 year ago, and the tag clearly states "Contentious material about living people that is un-sourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately."-- RedBlue82 talk 21:55, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please read up the WP:CSD criteria, G6 doesn't cover such deletions. If you can not find any sources for the minimal content in the article, then either use WP:PROD or WP:AfD to pursue deletion. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 21:57, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ahmedabad

mr.spaceman kindly note that the current city population of ahmedabad is 5.1 billion and not the metro. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.198.80.236 (talk) 19:28, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

yup, 5.1 billion people in one city. Please provide reliable sources for your edits or you will be blocked. —SpacemanSpiff 19:31, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This could be a typo or a mis-understanding with the IP editor meaning 4.1 million or something like that. An appropriate way to deal with the situation is to point out the mistake or even fix it. We always need to assume WP:Goodfaith and behave per WP:SPIRIT. You have a history of attacking people and their content by calling them names like ""codswallop", "crap", "nonsense". Please consider removing your {{user recall}} box from your page User:SpacemanSpiff or consider stepping down as an admin. Please go easy on those threats to block people. You might be scaring away people instead of encouraging them to join the WP family. Zuggernaut (talk) 20:12, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And you can rest easy on your self righteous discourse, please stop posting on my talk page, especially when you haven't a clue on what you're talking about. —SpacemanSpiff 20:20, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion

Hello SpacemanSpiff, I believe you deleted a friend's wikipedia page that we started to put together last night. I am not sure why you did this. Her name is Joanne Lee Beck. Please reply with more info. Thank you 24.5.61.111 (talk) 22:50, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All biographies on Wikipedia should pass our notability guidelines and have reliable source references. In this case, the article qualified to be deleted per our WP:CSD#A7 criteria and was therefore deleted. I'd left a note on your talk page before deleting. You can use the article wizard to help create an article or create this one in a sandbox, add the references and then move to main space at your leisure. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 03:55, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

With my little time , this is the least I can do to contribute to Wikipedia. There is no link spamming intentions. I saw some articles in google news and thought do some linking, thats all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mfan007 (talkcontribs) 16:07, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that it is a user provided content site and does not qualify as a reliable source reference. Also, you were adding it in as a reference for statements that were not in the linked article. That is a clear no-no. If you wish to add references to reliable sources, feel free to do so, you are more than welcome to do so. However, please avoid websites like this. Also, I should note that all your edits were to link to this site as a reference without that actually being the case; if you avoid that, it'll be good. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 16:14, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
