Cast

Production

Originally titled Varudu, the film being directed by Trivikram has been renamed Mahesh Khaaleja, with Khiladi being another option that was finally not chosen. According to sources, the film has got this new title after director Trivikram made some changes in the script. After working for almost 8 months, Sunil Patel was replaced by Yash Bhatt attributing to the delays caused by former.[1]. Most of the film is done except a song which is scheduled to be shot on September 12, 2010. The shooting was paused for awhile due to some illness for Mahesh. But, now the shooting has been resumed and the producer Singanamala Ramesh is planning to release the film on october 2nd week. The title of the movie has been changed to Mahesh Khaaleja due to some copyright issues filed by a producer against Singanamala Rameshbabu[2]. The film has been mostly shot in Rajasthan and in Pune.

Release and Music

Originally Mahesh Babu planned to take a gap of 6 months before the release of his next film after Athidhi which was an average grosser at the box office. But, due to unexpected circumstances the film was postponed several times and the film took 2 years to get completed. As of today there is still a song left to be shot before the film gets fully completed. Post-production works are in progress. Music for the film has been scored by Mani Sharma who hasn't had a recent hit and is looking to make a strong comeback with Mahesh Khaleja. The music is expected to be on 27th September. According to sources the music will be directly released into the market without a special function of any kind. Sources reveal that Sony Music who has recently released the music of Komaram Puli has purchased the audio rights for the film. The cold drink company Coca Cola has recently started the Khaleja Unda campaign for Thumps Up which features action sequences from the film. A teaser trailer of the film was released on August 16th, 2010 which doesn't reveal much, but manages to give a small glimpse of the film. Producer Singanamala Ramesh who is also producing Komaram Puli is in a confused state and hasn't spoken a word about the film's release date. The producer has decided to release the film only a month after the release of Komaram Puli to give it some time to perform at the box office. Also with some big budget movies like Robo and Brindavanam all set to release in the month of September . Mahesh stated from his official Twitter account that the audio is all set to release on the September 24 where as the movie is planned to release on October 7th. Even though the final date is not finalized yet, the possible date according to Mahesh's Twitter post is October 7th. The audio teasers for this movie were released by Sony Music and the audio release date is all set for October 7, 2010.

Due to the huge acclaim for Siva Rudraya teaser song in Khaleja, Sony Music released the complete song for Suva Rudraya on its facebook page[3].
