Kasarani is a residential area in Nairobi Kenya. It is in the Eastern part of Nairobi, about 10 km from the city centre along Thika Road. It is thought that the name Kasarani originated from a river that flows through the area which has the Kikuyu name Gathara-ini River. Its population likely exceeds 200,000 persons.Kasarani has a parliamentary constituency Kasarani Constituency named after it in Nairobi county. It borders Juja Constituency in Kiambu county. There are various wards in Kasarani which include Roysambu, Mwiki, Hunters and Warren. Kasarani covers a very vast area and includes a national stadium named after former President Daniel arap Moi known as Moi International Sports Centre. USIU, SportView Hotel, Safari Park Hotel are present in Kasarani.
