Mr.Shaw

I apologize... We are leaning here as we go.

We are hoping to get some sort of resolve soon.. THANK YOU for you help. I wish there was more to provide by all we have is photo's. There are professional Athletes, Writers, Actors and newscasters who could help with notability but we just are unable to reach out to them for something like this. It's frustrating but we knew this would be the issue and are just grateful we where able to make it this far. It's not easy making a veterans advocate a celebrity!

Marshal D. Carper

I see that you nominated Marshal D. Carper for speedy deletion under CSD A7. I agree that the article does not establish notability, but I think there is just enough claim of significance to avoid A7, so I have declined the speedy deletion and taken it to AfD instead. You may like to comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marshal D. Carper. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:09, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Thompson Evans

Hello Ttonyb1. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Thompson Evans, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 12:58, 28 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Elizabeth wiki photo2010,jpg

I own all of the rights for this file (Elizabeth wiki photo 2010.jpg). As the administrator of the website and owner of the copyrights of this photo and all other 700,000 photos I own, I authorized this same photo to be posted on Elizabeth En Tu Agenda website. I created and own this file. All copyrights are own by me. Also, I take offense on your comment accusing me of vandalism. How can I be vandalizing or causing infringement of copyrights when I am the owner of the rights of this photo and all I have tried to do is read your uploading guidelines, adhere to them to the best of my understanding, and try multiple times to upload this photo to this wikipedia page as a reference. It took me a bit of time to get acquainted with the steps to contact you reason why you were able to delete the page before I could tag it as "hang on" and provide an explanation. I respectfully request to be allowed to upload this photo onto Elizabeth Hernandez' page (as solely owner of the rights of this photo), and request that the notation of vandalism be removed from the talk page. If I am uploading the photo incorrectly or if I a missing additional descriptive information to concur that the rights and creation of this file is solely mine (completely mine), please let me know how to fix it and I will gladly do it.AKUSTIK (talk) 04:17, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may own the images, but without permission to use them, it is a copyright violation to use them on Wikipeida. Have you read the steps outlined in Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials? ttonyb (talk) 04:38, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tony. Problem is that there is a link on the page, and according to policy, any link anywhere on the page that is in any way about the subject means we can't use the BLPPROD (unfortunately, and we hope to get this changed soon). A normal PROD would be the way to go - and quicker! --Kudpung (talk) 05:27, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, you are right. ttonyb (talk) 05:29, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Over the Fence Festival

Hello Ttonyb1. I am just letting you know that I deleted Over the Fence Festival, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 05:42, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. ttonyb (talk) 05:43, 1 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of Fraternal Order of Buffalo

Dear Ttonyb1;

I contest the speedy deletion of the Fraternal Order of Buffalo page. We are a real life incorporated service organization in Buffalo, New York I am just getting used to the use of Wikipedia editing and would like to have some time to learn how to put vital information about us, our mission and our accomplishments. If you would like to learn more about us I encourage you to learn more about our organization on our website. www.orderofbuffalo.com

Thank you for your time as I work with the other members to inform people of our accomplishments over the last three years. Thanks Mike Mjtyrpak (talk) 01:43, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message. Organizations must meet certain criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia. All organisations must establish they are notable per Wikipedia based criteria using reliable sources. I do not see that the organization meets that criteria. ttonyb (talk) 01:48, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TtonyB thank you for that information. The main reason for our group to desire a wikipedia post is because we were asked by someone why we didn't appear there. Thank you for giving me some information on meeting the criteria I hope we can work on this stub to meet that. Mjtyrpak (talk) 01:57, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of the event, November 25, 1985

Dear Ttonyb1, I was wondering as to the reason(s) why the event that I've added today related to downed airplane on November 25, 1985, in Angola, has been deleted by you. I have first-hand knowledge of the tragedy and I knew some of the passengers on that plane. Would you be so kind and explain? Sincerely, Andre —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andreb1 (talkcontribs) 03:01, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Andre, thanks for the message. The reason I removed the item was it is not really internationally significant. In addition, it lacked an article. You might want to take a look at WP:RY for some guidance on what to include in the years articles. As I indicated I did not see an article for the event, you might want start an article about it. Please let me know if you have any questions. ttonyb (talk) 03:10, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks you for your guidance, Ttonyb1. You are absolutely right - I'll start with the article dedicated to that horrific event. As to the importance of the event, it triggered other events that led to the loss of more lives. As far as I know any loss of any aircraft in any circumstances and especially those that resulted in the loss of lives other than the crews, is an important event and significant. The war in Angola was an international conflict involving the USSR, USA, China, Cuba, SAR and other countries. I represent the Union of Veterans of Angola and intend to publish a series of articles that have historical and educational significance. Although the Union's website is in Russian, http://www.veteranangola.ru, there's a page in English on which we get cooperation and participation from the former South African soldiers and other combatants that participated in that war. Thank you for your understanding. Andre —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andreb1 (talkcontribs) 04:18, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have left a Welcome message on your talk page. It contains a numbers of links that will be helpful in your creation of the article. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. My best to you. ttonyb (talk) 04:31, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Delete for Hovid Bhd & Ho Yan Hor

Dear Tony,

I'm working for Hovid Bhd, what I trying to do is to let ppl know what Hovid Bhd is.

I not promoting any products Brand or Name here in Wikipedia and I understand Wikipedia Administrators concerns.

Anyway for me to just put some info here in Wikipedia? or totally not allow for me to do so.

Because I still find lots of company profile in Wikipedia, if I was the only one who been pinalized, its not fair to me, even I was given a last warning by ~~7.

Sad for it... >_< —Preceding unsigned comment added by Felix2011 (talkcontribs) 01:25, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Ttonyb1: I am interested in more details regarding your claim that the 2011 edit is "not appropriate." As you may have noticed, I didn't repost the exact same information (as that would be unhelpful). Each of the three times posting, I attempted to re-edit (including providing additional, verifiable references). The information I'm trying to upload is a prediction based on biblical and oceanic research, and I'm seeking to present it from a neutral point of view. Please help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Frworldwide (talkcontribs) 01:29, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The guideline for inclusion in the recent years articles is WP:RY. Generally items such as predictions based on non-science topics are not included. If you wish to propose the item be included I suggest you post your suggestion on the article talk page with your reasoning. If a consensus to add the article is reached, then the item will be added. ttonyb (talk) 01:51, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Carmela Contarino Page

Hi Tony, Sorry this was my first page I have made and maybe I am not doing it wrong. Carmela is a breakfast radio announcer in Sydney Australia, do i need more links to news reports to make it valid, not sure what to do. Thank you very much. Cheers, Gray —Preceding unsigned comment added by Graytek (talkcontribs) 04:14, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Graytek, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for the message. In order for an article to stay on Wikipedia notability has to be established for the subject using reliable sources. In this case the article needs to meet the criteria in WP:BIO. Take a look at the Welcome message on you talk page and let me know if you have any questions. ttonyb (talk) 04:23, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for your watchfulness. I have added some references and will add more soon. Best, Meo Hav (talk) 10:52, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of PortCullis Systems

Dear, Tony, You deleted ALL the references I added to this article. If you remove all references, any subject in the world would seem irrelevant and non-noteable. PortCullis is one of Microsoft's largest partners and it's appliances run some of the largest networks in the world. Without them, companies like Sprint, HP, Dell, as well as big parts of the US and Canada government would crumble. Please restore the references I put, and in the future, read through them before deciding they are insignificant.

Graham Watt

Hi Tony,I'm writing to you in regard to the deletion of the Graham Watt picture. Now I'm relatively new to this whole editing thing, so please take it easy on me. ;) I have already obtained permission to use the image by the relevant party, so I don't see why these images have been constantly filed for deletion. Also, there were issues of notability on the said article, which I have already addressed by citing three sources of information, of which two are third-party sources, but yet it still shows that notability needs to be addressed? If you could just clear up some of these issues for me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks mate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Benju3148 (talkcontribs) 23:16, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Benju3148, thanks for the message. The reason the image has been deleted is that although you say you have permission to use the image, there is no evidence to support your statement. Since you are not the image owner you need to follow the instructions in WP:PERMISSION before the image can be accepted for use in Wikipedia. ttonyb (talk) 00:00, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The reference is to the book called The Big Short. It happens to have a Wikipedia article, so I linked to it, but the ref is for the book, not Wikipedia. Green Cardamom (talk) 03:38, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually you are using a Wikipedia article to support a Wikipedia article. This is not a valid reference. One needs to use the original source to support a Wikipedia article. ttonyb (talk) 03:50, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just because there is a wikilink within a footnote doesn't mean the wikilink is the source. It's simply a matter of courtesy to the reader to provide wikilinks. The source is as cited -- it's the book, The Big Short - that's the source. Since it should resolve any confusion, I'll add the ref back without the wikilink, since it's already linked in the article body anyway. Green Cardamom (talk) 04:10, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about deleting your notice. As you might have guessed, I am new to the wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by PerformerParker (talkcontribs) 16:03, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Carmela Contarino

Just a quick note to say I removed the speedy deletion tag from this page. I think there are a few credible claims of significance in the article, and she does have some press coverage. I'm not sure how I would !vote if this went to AfD (probably delete, to be honest) but I don't think CSD A7 is a good fit here. Cheers,Thparkth (talk) 23:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message, I have Afd'd it. ttonyb (talk) 07:30, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Queens Jewish Center - referencing update

I apologize... I am learning here as I go.

I am hoping to get the issues resolved soon. Thank you for your assistance. I wish there was more to provide in terms of referencing. I did my best in adding additional 3rd party references. The synagogue website posted some of this information from one of it's annual dinner journals back in the 1950's. There is no further documentation, except for this Journal which is stored in the synagogue office along with all the other Journal's.

Please let me know if this is sufficient as it would be great if those referencing notices at the top of the page could be removed.

Thanks
