What a piece of crap this site is. Half of the 'article' is just propaganda from the local fascist and socialists politicians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.212.143.113 (talk) 18:32, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
All this information is wrong and malicious. This is not rosario city but the popular socialist party city . signed biscione. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.212.143.113 (talk) 18:48, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Biscione, lighten up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.17.108.77 (talk) 04:45, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
Notable people
I'm trying to get this section going. Two many red links there. BTW Liliana Herrero is from Villaguay, Entre Ríos, not Rosario, [1] even though she came to live here. Do we include those too? When do we stop? --Pablo D. Flores 15:08, 6 August 2005 (UTC)
And Gabriel Heinze is from Crespo, Entre Ríos, I'm taking him out of the list.
It's nothing but my humble opinion, but I think the list might be lacking criteria if it includes Lalo de Los Santos as a notable musician, but fails to acknowledge his peers Fandermole or Abonizzio, or even Goldin. The fact that he died doesn't make him any more important, and the bottom line is that his songs are not as well know as are those of other people form the same origin.Tariuk 13:12, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's not failing to acknowledge, it's just we forgot. :) If you can write about them, please do so; I have no idea where to get information about them. Thanks for noting this. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 17:15, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Foundation
I just realized that the article clams no proper foundation date exists. es:Rosario (Argentina) says that even though Juan Romero de Pineda is considered to be its founder, there was already a small village in that place. Even if questiones, the official date of foundation seams to be December 27 1689.
Perhaps this can be better explained in the text of the article. Mariano(t/c) 15:42, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
- I haven't heard of this Romero de Pineda guy. Of course, there were people over here, but I'm pretty sure Rosario as such did not exist at that time. I'll have to check. FWIW, the no-founder tradition is common knowledge in the city, to the point that the official celebration of the city is done on the day of the Virgin of the Rosary. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 17:52, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
- PS: In fact RdP was granted the lands by merced real, and the first inhabitants were those of his estancia, but there was no foundation document and no formal authorities until much later. So RdP was among the first inhabitants of the region, but not a founder in the strict sense. A part of the land was acquired later by the Jesuits. Based on my very quick search, RdP is considered just a guy who got some lands and workers to work them, but did not intend to found a town. Given the tendency of the Spanish settlers to get everything by the book (and into the books) with regards to the legal aspects of new towns, which RdP did not do, I'd say he's not the founder. The real story, of course, could and should be told in the article. [2], [3] [4] --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 18:04, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
Situation map
This is a proposal for the format of the Situation maps for Cities and places in Argentina.
The original map is not very good (it lacks of rivers and geographical accidents), but we don't have any better one. Send me an e-mail if you want me to send you the PSD or XCF project. Mariano(t/c) 12:07, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
Pictures of Rosario (IMPORTANT)
As you may have noticed, I just got a digital camera and started taking pictures of basically whatever crosses in front of the lens. If you have other pictures of Rosario, please upload them at the Wikimedia Commons, and tag them with [[Category:Rosario]]. The category has every good/worthy picture I've taken so far. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 23:05, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
- Be careful, he has a camera, and he's not affraid to use it!!! Mariano(t/c) 08:25, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
Missing
Some things missing from the article:
- A comment on the stratospheric... erm... fast train Buenos Aires–Rosario–Córdoba (should wait for the actual bidding of the contract).
- The use of GPS units in buses.
I might be taking care of this if/when I get good sources to work with. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 12:31, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
Major Event
what about the Rosario Derby between Central and Newell's? i think it's the main event of the city for what it means to the people and culture of Rosario.
I don't think so. There are other bigger events. What about "Feria de las colectividades"? Crumble2.0 22:45, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Why isn't there a Rosario Disambig?
There are so many places, people and things named Rosario, we need a disambig page, right? Arthurian Legend 23:18, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Rosario, Santa Fe → Rosario, Argentina — Facebook is reading this article and not displaying Argentina, only Santa Fe Hterrazzino (talk) 21:08, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
- Question. Please clarify what you mean by, "Facebook is reading this article and not displaying Argentina, only Santa Fe". Thanks. --Born2cycle (talk) 23:10, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
