Career

He began his career as a child artist. His first movie he starred in was Brahmarshi Viswamithra directed by legend NTR and then Ramayanam, all artists in this movie are children hence this movie is popularly known as "Bala Ramayanam", directed by Gunasekhar in 1996. Coincidentally, his character in the second movie was Lord Sri Rama, a role often played by his grandfather NTR. His first movie as a hero was "Ninnu choodalani" released in the year 2000. It was produced by Ramoji Rao under Ushakiran movies banner. Written off by critics in his first film, he made a striking comeback with the film Student No.1 which was released after 4 months. The movie went on to become an instant hit with both classes and masses. The next movie was 'Subbu' which is directed by Suresh Varma.

However it was Aadi that catapulted him in to the league. Aadi had stood as blockbuster of the year 2002. In January 2003, he came up with Naaga; though the movie raised some worthy political issues, it bombed at the box-office. However, in July 2003, his movie Simhadri made Tarak and director S. S. Rajamouli as household names and became a milestone in NTR's career. Simhadri stabilized his status as the next Super star of tollywood.

His 2004 release Andhrawala, was an average at the box office,[2] and the next movie Samba was above average.[2] His movies Naa Alludu and Narasimhudu in 2005, Ashok (film) in 2006 were failures at box office.

His next movie Rakhi, directed by Pasupuleti Krishna Vamsi, was a critically acclaimed movie. His next movie was Yamadonga, which became a Super Hit and gave him much needed break. He appeared in Lord Yama role and entertained audience with his enthralling performance and excellent dialog delivery. Following Yamadonga, Jr. NTR's next film was Kantri, which was released on May 2008. Due to high expectations the film ended as an average grosser. Adhurs was released in January 2010. He played a dual role in this movie, which became a hit at the box office. His latest release Brindavanam released on 14th Oct, 2010 was declared as hit. NTR is presently working on Shakthi directed by Meher Ramesh and produced by Ashwini Dutt.

Politics

Jr. NTR was one of the star campaigners for the Telugu Desam Party, for the Indian general election, 2009 from April to May 2009 and attracted public and media.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
