Group D of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup is one of four groups of nations competing at 2011 AFC Asian Cup. The group's first round of matches will be played on 11 January, with the final round to be played on 19 January. All six group matches will be played at venues in Doha and Al Rayyan, Qatar. The group consists of 2007 AFC Asian Cup champions Iraq, 2010 AFC Challenge Cup champions Korea DPR, as well as Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
Iran have won the group and qualified for the knockout stage.
On the next matchday:
Iraq will qualify for the knockout stage if:
they do not lose to Korea DPR.
United Arab Emirates will qualify for the knockout stage if:
they defeat Iran and Korea DPR defeat Iraq, and:
their margin of win is greater than Korea DPR's margin of win, OR
their margin of win is the same as Korea DPR's margin of win, and they score more goals than Korea DPR.
Korea DPR will qualify for the knockout stage if:
they defeat Iraq and Iran do not lose to United Arab Emirates, OR
they defeat Iraq and United Arab Emirates defeat Iran, and:
their margin of win is greater than United Arab Emirates' margin of win, OR
their margin of win is the same as United Arab Emirates' margin of win, and they score more goals than United Arab Emirates.
If United Arab Emirates and Korea DPR both win by the same scoreline, then the runner-up in the group between them will be decided by fair play conduct of the teams during the final tournament, and if that is equal, by the drawing of lots.
