Digital River is a US e-commerce outsourcing company. The company’s platform offers site development and hosting, order management, fraud management, export controls, tax management, physical and digital product fulfillment, multi-lingual customer service, reporting and strategic marketing services. Clients include ACD Systems, Autodesk, Capcom, Data Robotics, Electronic Arts, En Masse, Kaspersky, Kodak, Logitech, Microsoft, Netgear, Nuance, Pentax, Realtime Worlds, SanDisk, Smith Micro, THQ, Trend Micro, Western Digital and Wizards of the Coast.[2]
Founded in 1994 Digital River is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota with offices in other US cities as well as Cologne, Germany; London, England; Shannon, Ireland; Luxembourg, Luxembourg; Shanghai, China, São Paulo, Brazil, Taipei, Republic of China (Taiwan); and Tokyo, Japan.
On 18 May 2005 Digital River acquired SWREG, another online payment processing company.[3]
Data Breach
A data breach resulted in a list of nearly 200,000 customers being breached.[4] A lawsuit followed by Digital River.[5]
