Name Change

So Maria Yulia are not your first names?--Toddy1 (talk) 21:08, 7 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting name change. Just wondering if you will go any further. --Garik 11 (talk) 08:11, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hypocrisy Is the Greatest Luxury is one of my favourite albums ever . Besides Yulyu didn't get $1 million to sing 4 songs... She just wanted some investments into Ukraine. I do not use my real name in wikipedia... — Yulia Romero (formerly Mariah-Yulia) • Talk to me! 01:17, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Let us start a WikiProject Ukraine/Politics of Ukraine task force?

Of course, I am interested. I will see what can be done to improve them. And I will keep you posted on updates as well as new ideas. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 04:59, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Martyrs

I see that you admire Óscar Romero. I have no doubt that he was a good and brave man who stood up for his beliefs. Even though he was martyred for his political beliefs, the Roman Catholic Church plans to make him a saint.

But to my way of thinking it would have been more appropriate for the Church to make the Christian martyr Raynald de Châtillon into a saint. de Châtillon was a warrior for Christ who was murdered whilst a prisoner of war. But the fashion today is for the new. Life is not fair.--Toddy1 (talk) 18:15, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, de Châtillon was considered to be worth half a tonne of gold.--Toddy1 (talk) 18:17, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just checking...........

Just to make sure: "Head of the Lviv Oblast State Administration" is the same thing as "Governor of Lviv Oblast"; right? If not I added a wrong category in the article Kmit Mykola. Bit confusing 2 different names are used for the same post (at least for me...).
Yulia Romero (formerly Mariah-Yulia) • Talk to me! 21:55, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Right on the money! A head of a state administration it is pretty much the governor of a region. It is what was in the Soviet times the executive committee of the region, colloquially as ispolkom. The legislative branch would be a regional council. Also each city of regional and district subordination elects its mayor, that is like a president, in my association. I have not found an article to support these assumptions, but there is sort of an explanation at the Ukrainian Wikipedia on a local government with a reference to the Small Encyclopedia of Ukraine, I think. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 22:11, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have intentions to improve the articles on the government cabinets such as to add the process of the appointment as I did for the Second governments of Tymoshenko and Yanukovych. What strikes the most is the Yanukovych's speech when he was dismissed from his post. I have not found an article in a press media about it. It was very random that I read the verbatim of the Verkhovna Rada session when Tymoshenko presented her new cabinet. I think those articles could use additional "tune-ups" such as summaries or analyses from good sources, articles of political experts on the subject. There is plenty of information about whatever the crisis there was in 2006, which, in my opinion, carry no real grounds, comparing to the current situation, for example. Also there is little information about the situation in Crimea of the 90s and the Sieverodonetsk's incident is not fully disclosed. The ongoing "monument war" is also worth mentioning as it is partially connected with the Anti-Tabachnyk campaign, for example. Whenever I will have more time I try to add more information on ministries of the government and maybe explain how everything comes together. Also, I already did some touch ups on the articles that have pointed out earlier. Please, visit them on a good occasion. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 22:27, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for getting my nose into this, officially they are not the same. But till now the Heads of State Administrations were also Governors. A.h. king • Talk to me! 16:35, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Taskforce

Hi, Yulia! Compliments on the new name :) To answer your question, no, you don't need an admin to set up a taskforce, although, depending on how developed the end result should be, you may run into some tasks which require admin intervention—for WP:RUSSIA such a task was updating the assessment banner, which is protected and can only be edited by an admin. Other than that, the decision on whether to establish a taskforce and how many is the matter that's made solely by the participants of the WikiProject under which the taskforces are being created. So, putting up a note on WT:UKRAINE stating that such and such editors are going to establish such and such taskforce for a few days is pretty much all there is to the formalities. There are some recommendations as to when establishing a taskforce is generally not beneficial, but in the end it is always the WikiProject's participants decision. I hope this answers your question. If you have more, or if you need help with the process of establishing the taskforce, please don't hesitate to contact me—I'll be happy to assist. Cheers,—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); March 10, 2011; 14:19 (UTC)

Rada riddling.......

It seems there is now a Group "Reforms for the Future" (Template:Lang-uk) in the Verkhovna Rada. As you can see on my userpage I have to cut back my time on wikipedia (soon), so I wish they started this group earlier.... — Yulia Romero (formerly Mariah-Yulia) • Talk to me! 16:07, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Very interesting... On the other subject, recently I created an article about the March 9, 2001 civil unrest (UbK March Unrest) connected with the Ukraine without Kuchma (UbK) movement. In my opinion that is a culmination point and one of the most important ones. Its precedent seems to be widely used by Aleksandr Lukashenko in a fight with opposition. There is a very good video footage was provided by the Ukrainian Pravda on March 9, 2011 on the developments of that day as well as plenty of other information related to the incident. Certainly more edits and improvements are required and if you will have some time, please, visit it for a review. Aleksandr Grigoryev (talk) 16:23, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Got a bit distracted... Apparently editors never thought of creating a Wikipedia category American musicians of Ukrainian descent while there was a American musicians of Russian descent category; seems a lot of people in the USA, UK, Canada etc. can not get used to the idea of an independent Ukraine... A lot of people think it is still 1990? I will create an article now on this new Rada group. Not sure of name yet... — Yulia Romero (formerly Mariah-Yulia) • Talk to me! 17:50, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decided to call it Reforms for the Future! — Yulia Romero (formerly Mariah-Yulia) • Talk to me! 17:58, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Questions!

Hi Yulia Thanks for the warm welcome! I fell that Wikipedia is a great website for exchange knowledge. I decided to give a try by starting an article about Anna Hutsol. I don't have enough information to complete the article, but I will give a try! It will be great to contribute with the Ukrainian related themes, even if I am not from there. I will appreciate if you could guide me by giving me tips or information about how is the best way that I can contribute. Hope to talk you soon G — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gutaku (talkcontribs) 12:33, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is just best to use the trial and error method on wikipedia... Mistakes get soon corrected here. Google books is an handy research tool. I think it is best to start/work on wikipedia articles in fields that interest you most. That way you can expand your own knowledge and share your new insights with other editors, that is what I do at least. Also not getting mad when other editors do something that looks wrong is a good idea; most of the time editors intentions are good (I have found out (the hard way)). Copying other editors skills is also wise. — Yulia Romero (formerly Mariah-Yulia) • Talk to me! 01:31, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To the project "Ukraine"

Hello, Mariah-Yulia. Please — look at my recent articles (and editing) — take the information from them to the project "Ukraine" :

  • The articles from Ukrainian Wikipedia "Коаліціада в Україні 2006" ("Coalition in Ukraine 2006)— can be fully added to the article "2006 Ukrainian political crisis".
  • The articles from Russian Wikipedia. Titles of articles :

— The article "Тимошенко, Юлия Владимировна" ("Tymoshenko, Yulia") — a good section : "Происхождение, ранние годы", "Оранжевая революция (2004)", "На посту премьер-министра (2005)", "В оппозиции (2005—2007)", "В оппозиции — с марта 2010".
— The article "Ющенко, Виктор Андреевич" ("Yushchenko") — a good section : "The conflict with Yulia Tymoshenko" (also "The parliamentary elections-2002", "Prime Minister 1999-2001").
Translate comfortably through the translator "Mozilla Firefox". Good bye!--Vles1 (talk) 13:22, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be happy to help with translation when necessary, just let me know. USchick (talk) 15:18, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As you can see on the top of this page I do have to cut back the time I spend on Wikipedia these days... File:Face-sad green.png, so I do not have time to help. You can (also) ask for help here. Others are also allowed to help of course ! — Yulia Romero (formerly Mariah-Yulia) • Talk to me! 18:19, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 22:21, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Accidentally read an article "Reforms for the Future!" This article have errors:
1) "After the cancilation of the Imperative Mandate on October 1, 2010 it be" - abolished not "imperative mandate" ("imperative mandate" was not in the Constitution!), but abolished the Constitution-2004!

And abolished "by the decision of the Constitutional Court" (The Constitutional Court had no rights to annul the Constitution, but can only interpret the Constitution). Yanukovych usurped power. Yanukovych grossly trampled upon the Constitution; and his power has become an anti-constitutional!!

May be to write : "The Constitutional Court abolished of the Constitution-2004. But it's not stipulated by the Constitution of Ukraine. "The free press and the opposition" named this actions as "anti-constitutional coup and the usurpation of power".

2) It must be emphasized that in a fraction of the "Reforms for the Future" gathered the MPs have been excluded from BYuT and "Our Ukraine". It must be emphasized that "Yulia Tymoshenko and members of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc" - have been repeated claims that members of the fraction "Reforms for the Future" — are "politically corrupt" and simply sell their votes (Yulia Tymoshenko: These MPs are sold each — for three million dollars).

Mariah-Yulia, welcome to Ukraine! --Vles1 (talk) 00:17, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unless we have more then rumours that Reforms for the Future consists of MPs who sold there votes for the sake of neutrality we can not say they where bought... The same goes for calling the current leadership "anti-constitutional".... Opinions are not facts... — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 21:50, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
1) "The cancel of the current Constitution (2004-2010)" is the fact. And abolished the Constitution - the Constitutional Court. It's not "opinion", but "reliable fact" - because the Constitution (Constitution-1996, Constitution-2004) describes the "way of changing the Constitution", but is not allowed to change the Constitution "through Constitutional Court". This is undoubtedly. Tymoshenko (which you support) - also says about it. "Cancel Constitution-2004" is terrible for Ukraine.
2) The deputies of the faction "Reforms for the Future" — are "traitors of their constituents"; because they were elected from the "Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc", and withdrew from the "Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc" (against the Constitution) and the support of "the anti-Ukrainian Yanukovych". That is indisputable. --Vles1 (talk) 01:47, 19 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Done! I did not check wikipedia while in Ukraine. so sorry for any inconvenience. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 21:33, 8 April 2011

Welcoming

Thank you for welcoming me.. But I afraid my contibution to English Wikipedia will be small. Because it is the most developed Wikipedia). The most of my contibutions I concentrate on Ukrainian Wikipedia. And I've created article about incarceration in Ukraine for interwiki for Ukrainian article. To be honest I'd like to create Ukraine-related articles especially concerning law, but.. it is very difficult because of specificity of terminology. Direct translation from, for example, Lingvo helps little. This is hardier also because of common law that English countries use. So I afraid that my law articles can be of poor quality of translation.--Oloddin (talk) 20:57, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hoi

Danke je voor verwelkoming mee :) Ik sprek Nederlands niet so goed, so ik wil te blijven op Engels. I made an article about Vidsich. It's aimed to be new Pora! and in fact many activists from Pora! are in Vidsich. Could you please help me with translation of this article in Dutch and German? --Krystofer (talk) 16:18, 18 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
