Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli is an Indian television series based on the story of the rich Thakur family of Ujjain who reside in a very palatial house known as '"Swarn Bhavan."

SEASON 1

The Thakur family is forced to leave Swarn Bhavan by the Thakur's driver's son, Jagmohan Prasad, and they now live in a small house in Ujjain. The Thakur's youngest daughter, Swarn Abha, is forced to work as an employee in Swarn Bhavan to bring in money for her family where Jagmohan's youngest son, Karan Prasad, falls in love with her.

Karan is forced to marry Swarn Abha to save her life from being ruined by his father, who had planned on marrying Abha to a drunkard. Abha refuses to accept the marriage and Karan as her husband. Soon, Karan succeeds in making Abha confess her love for him. Karan's childhood friend, Sania Mathur, arrives at Swarn Bhavan and falls in love with him. At the same time, even Abha's childhood friend Sanskar realises his love for Abha. Abha's marriage gets fixed with Sanskar; on the wedding day, Karan has an accident and Abha rushes to him, revealing to everyone their love. Though it pains her, Abha leaves her parents to care for her love, Karan.

A few days later, Karan and Abha wed. Karan divorces Abha and accuses her of doing a deed that Sanskar did. He then finds out that is was Sanskar and pleads to Abha for forgiveness and remarries her. Sanskar has created misunderstanding between Abha and Karan which Karan thinks is all Abha's fault and now Abha is trying to regain Karan and her family and her mother and sister Lata are supporting her.

The sanskaar problem is wrapped up. Sanskaar's caught Abha forgives Karan. Sanskar becomes good. Then comes a new problem. It starts out with clues from Karan's past. Turns out when Karan was liittle his maternal maama was forcing Pratibha(his mom) to get Jagmohan to fight a false case. Then Pratibha (Karan's mom) says no. He tries to kill Karan but kills Bunty (his own son) by accident. So he comes back and tries to get revenge with Pratibha's other sister Yashodha. Maamaji is caught but Yasho isn't. She tries to kill Karan and then Abha meets his twin Sidharth (actual name Ranchod). Story goes that Jagmohan wona case "777" which he later learns that he was fighting for the wrong person. Because of his case the person he proved the wrong son got killed. After a couple weeks when Pratibha gave birth to Karan, she also gave birth to his twin, but no one except Jagmohan and this nanny knew that. He handed the twin and gave him to Mr. Tiwari whose (whose son was killed) and named him Ranchod. Ranchod wants to be an actor so he changed his name to Sidharth (only he and his girlfriend know). He agrees to help Abha for (11 days) cash but acts like himself. After the 11 days were completed Abha and Ranchod return to Mumbai. There, Aabha when to search for Karan one last time and Ranchod went his way. while Abha wasn searching for Karan Ranchod was beaten by Dushyant. Ranchod met Karan in the Hospital in a bad shape and promised him that he will protect Abha and rest of family from Yasho.

The Prasad Family was expecting Karan and Abha to bring Ranchod home, the hav play a grnad birthday party for both sons. Abha was about to tell the family the sad news about Karan when Ranchod posed as Karan entered. Abha found out that she was pregnant wit Karan's baby. Later Yasho. and Dushyant's evil plan was exposed to the family. During the holi celebration Abha realizes that Karan was not really Karan but Sidharth(Ranchod). Jagmohan then explain that Ranchod was is Karan's twin, they were separated since birth. Ranchod explained Why he did not tell them the truth and that he is only fulfilling Karan's last wish.

Karan was saved by doctors and Dr. Arudati decided to take him home and treat him. Otherwise he will be sent to a Government hospital and will die. As karan could not speak and his body was motionless, she named him Neel. Shali (vimal's wife) saw a picture of Karan in the newspaper and decided to keep him away from Abha and Ranchod. Abha and Ranchod marry. After that, Karan is kidnapped by Dushyant, who was actually trying to kidnap Ranchod. However, they find out it was the wrong man and throw him out of the car. He is found by Dr.Arundhati who then treats him. Abha goes back home sad and then trips over a string planted by Dushyant and loses her baby.

SEASON 2

(Story is then fast-forwarded by 2 years)

It is Abha and Ranchods anniversary and Karan is able to talk and move by now. He goes back to Ujjain and gives Abha traces of his presence.He sends him sms s about their first meeting. Then a play occurs in which Ranchod and Abha acted, but she then found out the man was not Ranchod. It was Karan. Karan then comes in a helicopter and greets Abha with rose petals.the following day when karan arrives with aabha everybody is happy but Ranchod is also a bit depressed>Abha understands that and is not fully happy with karan and shally warns Abha that if her husband Karan tells anything against her she will leave the house along with Asmi,her and vimal's daughter.In the meantime Sheetal wants to tell Karan about Abha and Ranchod's marriage but Karan makes her stop and says her that they have kept very good care of aabha .Ranchod becomes very hurt when Karan touches Abha.Ranchod feels distressed as Karan and Abha perform the puja.Arundhati is surprised when Jagmohan introduces Shelly as Karan's sister-in-law. Arundhati recalls Shelly had introduced herself as Maithili, Karan's cousin. However, on seeing Karan and the family happy, Arundhati decides to tell Karan about Shelly later.Chandra Prabha is alarmed when Sheetal states that Karan might suspect Abha's love after learning about her marriage to Ranchod.To make for the time he had lost, Karan promises to grant Abha's every wish. When Karan keeps insisting, Abha asks him to join the family for dinner.Karan is surprised when he finds Ranchod's shirt in his and Abha's closet.Abha lies that she forgot to hand over the shirt to Ranchod which he had given her to stitch a button. Karan goes to Ranchod's room and tells him that he is very possessive about Abha.Karan also tells Abha that they must find a suitable girl for Ranchod who would take care of Ranchod's needs.As Abha gathers Ranchod's clothes and other items from her room, she feels miserable thinking about Ranchod. Ranchod had not only sacrificed his life but also his dreams for her happiness. Pratibha witnesses Ranchod's plight. While walking towards his room, Ranchod accidentally drops his and Abha's marriage photograph near the corridor. Vimal tries to console a heart-broken Ranchod. While Ranchod expresses his misfortune, Arundhati too laments about unrequited love. However, Ranchod consoles himself and decides to seek happiness in Abha's happiness. Abha informs Karan that she had suffered an accident during her pregnancy and lost their child. Karan pacifies and assures her that the worst was over. Abha fears Karan might learn about her and Ranchod marriage. Abha manages to hide her photograph with Ranchod before Karan can discover it inthe May 24 episode of Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli aired on Zee TV. Abha is about to tear the photo but stops on spotting Ranchod. Shelly decides to reveal Ranchod and Abha's marriage to Karan with the help of the talent hunt contest video where Ranchod had confessed his love for Abha.Karan finds the CD and decides to watch it.Pratibha and Jagmohan are stunned when Ranchod announces his decision to leave Swarn Bhavan. Pratibha tries her best to dissuade Ranchod. Abha too tries to convince Ranchod. Lights go out in Swarn Bhavan. In the darkness, Abha mistakes Karan to be Ranchod and tries to convince him from leaving. On realizing that it is Karan, Abha lies that she was asking him not to go out and get ice-cream for her. Karan watches the talent hunt video. Ranchod lies to Karan that he had requested Abha to pose as his life-partner as he was asked to confess his love in the contest. The family is stunned when Karan is furious at Ranchod for using Abha for his performance. On Abha's birthday, she has visions of Ranchod being tortured.Eventually,Ranchod finds out that it was Dushayant who caused Abha's miscarriage and goes to tale revenge by beating him. Somehow Dushayant dies and Ranchod is framed for murdering him and is arrested.Abha knows that Ranchod is innocent and has to fight his case as because Karan was presumed dead, he cannot fight it. On the day of the hearing Shelly tells Karan everything about Abha's marriage with Ranchod. Karan is extermely upset and leaves. He thinks Abha is in love and has moved on with Ranchod. When he does return, he tells Abha that he will help her fight the case but after they fight it, it will also be a decision of their relationship.Shelly also bribes the lawyer fighting against Abha to emotionally torture her about Karan as Karan is Abha's biggest strength and weakness. Abha has two days to find evidence for Ranchod. While she and Karan find it, they temporarily keep showing how much they love each other but hide it.They break into Dushayants house to gather evidence where Karan sees someone with a womans bracelet.When they go to Dushayant's funeral, they notice Shelly and Karan recognises the person lighting the pyre as the same one with the bracelet.Together he and Abha trap Shelly and revela her truth before everyone on the final day of Rancohd's hearing. Abha slaps Shelly. Vimal throws her out. Karan then tells Abha that they will reveal Ranchod is innocent and some other decisions too(referring to when he said their relationship will be decided on that day) and that the case is starting soon.
