Brooke Logan Forrester (previously Chambers, Jones, and Marone) is a fictional character from the CBS Daytime soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. She has been portrayed by Katherine Kelly Lang since the series debuted in March 1987.

Character Creation

Katherine Kelly Lang introduced the character in 1987, and continues the play the character today. In 1987, she was briefly replaced by Catherine Hickland while Lang was on leave. In 1997, Sandra Ferguson filled in for a small amount of time.

The world-wide success of The Bold and the Beautiful has meant world-wide controversy among fans for this most controversial of characters. As far away from the U.S.A. as Kenya, men heatedly condemn this "evil" and "wicked" woman, while women praise her for being "independent and put[ting] men where they belong."[1] In addition, Brooke's many story lines and airtime has raised eyebrows with critics.

Storylines

Backstory

Brooke studied chemistry during her early days in College. Brooke is the daughter of Beth and Storm Logan, and the elder sister of Donna Logan (currently played by Jennifer Gareis), Katie Spencer (Heather Tom) and Storm Logan, Jr. (played by William deVry at the time of his death, 2008). She worked for her family's catering family who often served rich pillars of the community (including The Forrester Family).

1987-2007

Brooke and Ridge first met when she was catering for his family, they instantly had a connection. Brooke initially taking interest in Ridge, eventually shifts her attention to Eric Forrester, the patriarch of the family. She then in turn began a deathly rivalry with the Forrester mother, Stephanie Forrester. They marry and have two children, Rick Forrester and Bridget Forrester. During her early days, Brooke and Thorne Forrester (Ridge's brother) conversed which each-other to break up Ridge and his then wife (who later died of leukemia) Caroline Spencer. After her death, Ridge started a relationship with the beautiful Dr Taylor Hamilton, who Brooke had to fight with to claim Ridge's heart. Brooke and Eric broke up after a short-lived marriage which lasted between 1991 and 1993. She came extremely close to getting back with Ridge when Taylor was presumed dead after a plane accident, however she returned to L.A and Brooke and Ridge's marriage was seen to be invalid.

Brooke later had a short marriage to a man named Grant Chambers in 1995. In 1998 Taylor became pregnant with Ridge's child, however told everyone the baby belonged to Thorne as Ridge and Brooke where married at the time. Ridge later left Brooke to be with Taylor and their newborn son, Thomas Forrester. Brooke later becomes interested in Thorne and overcomes obstacles with him and his then wife, Macy. Macy was killed in a deadly car accident which Brooke survived. Thorne and Brooke part ways, and she turns her attention back to Ridge, who is still married to Taylor. Brooke is later tricked by the Forrester family into travelling to Paris, to keep away from the happy married Taylor and Ridge (who have since had twins, Steffy and Phoebe. While in paris, Brooke had an affair with her daughter's husband Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan). Her daughter Bridget (played by Jennifer Finnigan at the time) was disgusted by this, and later Brooke gave birth to a daughter named Hope Logan as a result of the scandalous affair. Briefly during the pregnancy she had a marriage (which was to cover up the affair) with a Forrester co-worker Whip Jones.

When Taylor died after being shot by psychotically deranged nurse Sheila Carter, Ridge and Brooke found their way back to one another. Sheila returns and later holds Ridge, Brooke and the Sailor who arrived in L.A, Nick Marone (Jack Wagner) hostage for a ransom. Ridge is briefly presumed dead after falling into a fire pit and Brooke sleeps with Nick while mourning. Ridge returns and Brooke later falls pregnant and gives birth to R.J (Ridge Junior) Forrester. The baby is initially thought to be Nick's child, later proved to be that of Ridge. When Taylor returned from the dead In 2005, Stephanie Forrester faked a heart attack and asked for her dying wish to be Ridge and Taylor's reunion. Brooke moved out of Ridge's life, and began a relationship with Nick in 2006. She faced complications as Nick was also in an on again, off again relationship with her daughter Bridget (now played by Ashley Jones). She and Nick divorced for the sake of Bridget's ill fated pregnancy (the baby was stillborn). In 2007, Brooke tried to interfere with Ridge's relationship with Ashley Abbott (From The Young and the Restless). She left town after being practically pushed out by Stephanie who had supported Ashley and Ridge's relationship.

2007—

Brooke began to intertwine herself in Taylor's new marriage with Nick. When Taylor and Nick decided to have a baby, they needed an egg donor. After baby Jack was born, it was revealed that by medical mix up, Brooke was the biological mother of the baby and the eggs were hers. Taylor found it hard to raise Brooke's child, so handed over Jack to Brooke. In 2009, Taylor and Brooke began to fight for Ridge's affections once again (nearly twenty years after they initially began to), after Taylor's relationship with Brooke's much younger son Rick; and an altercation with Rick led to Phoebe (Taylor's daughter) dying in a car accident. Taylor and Ridge came close to marrying in 2009 after they had sex and Brooke walked away, however Brooke and Ridge reunited shortly after. In 2010, Brooke re-created the situation with Deacon and Bridget, when she accidentally had sex with Hope's boyfriend, Oliver Jones. Hope forgave her. Brooke also came close to Stephanie during her battle with Lung Cancer. In 2011, Brooke and Thomas, working for their taboo fashion line at Forrester Creations, where stranded on an island. They returned home safely but Stephanie and Thomas together came up with the lie that they had sex on the island. This allowed Ridge and Taylor to nearly marry, but the truth was revealed.
