Dal Shabet (Hangul: 달샤벳), stylized as Dal★Shabet, is a South Korean girl group created by E-Tribe through their label Happy Face Entertainment. The members include Viki (Leader), Serri, Ah Young, Jiyul, GaEun and Subin (Maknae). On March 15, 2011, 'Darling' was selected as Dal Shabet's fanclub name.

Career

Pre Debut

During the latter half of 2010, rumors began to circulate through Korean media sites that E-Tribe, the producers behind breakthrough hits such as SNSD's Gee and Lee Hyori's U-Go-Girl, were planning to launch a new girl group. The producers quickly denied the rumors and said they were untrue. On December 9, 2010, E-Tribe's small-label company called "Happy Face Entertainment" announced that they would be launching a six-member girl group named Dal Shabet.[1] Profiles of the group members were revealed on December 29, 2010, as well as their January 3, 2011 debut date.

Countdown.[3] Promotions for "Supa Dupa Diva" ended on March 14, 2011, but it was revealed the group would be holding their first comeback in April.[4] The song was later voted upon by various idols in a survey and was crowned as the second most addicting song of 2011, as well as having the second most popular choreography.[5]

On April 13, 2011, Dal Shabet released their "Pink Rocket" music video.[6] Promotions for "Pink Rocket" began on April 14, 2011, on M! Countdown.[7] Promotions for "Pink Rocket" ended on May 30, 2011, but the group assured fans that they would be releasing another album in late July or early August.[8]

On August 2, 2011, it was announced that Dal Shabet would be making a 'funky' comeback.[9] On August 10, 2011, Dal Shabet unleashed their music video to "Bling Bling".[10] Promotions for "Bling Bling" began on August 12, 2011, on Music Bank.[11] Promotions for "Bling Bling" officially ended on November 6, 2011, but fans were assured the group would quickly return to the stage.

2012: "Hit U"

On January 8, 2012, it was revealed that the members of Dal Shabet would be undergoing a dramatic and powerful transformation for their fourth mini-album. On January 17, 2012, a dramatic music video teaser for "Hit U" was released.[12] Promotions for "Hit U" began on January 26, 2012, on M! Countdown.[13] The full-length music video and mini-album were digitally and physically released the following day.[14]
