Kurt P. Bills (born January 8, 1970) is a Minnesota politician and a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives who represents District 37B, which includes portions of Dakota County in the southeastern Twin Cities metropolitan area. A Republican, he is also an economics teacher and volunteer coach at Rosemount High School in Rosemount, and, together with his wife, the owner of a licensed, home-based daycare.[1][2]
Bills was first elected to the House in 2010. He currently serves on the Capital Investment, Education Finance, and Taxes committees.[3][4] On May 21, 2011, he joined the House Republican Majority in voting for a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between a man and woman.[5]
Bills graduated from Winona State University in Winona, receiving his B.S. in Secondary Social Studies Education and his B.A. in U.S. History. He subsequently earned his M.A. in Education. Prior to being elected to the House, he was a member of the Rosemount City Council.[6][7]
On February 6th, 2012, Bills endorsed Texas congressman Ron Paul for President of the United States.
