Hello, Eric.benhamou.pricingpartners, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was "pricing partners", which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. It is also worth noting that Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which specifically link them to one company or corporation. If your username does have such a name, it would be advisable for you to request a change of username.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Hasteur (talk) 16:20, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article "pricing partners" has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be a re-creation of Pricing Partners that was denied on grounds that the original title is salted.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Answer to the deletion of "pricing partners"

this is a real page with objective links to objective media. This is not an advertising page but rather a page giving the history of the company. This should not be deleted. If you are not happy with the content, please indicate me what you dislike and I will edit accordingly.

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen (Eric.benhamou.pricingpartners) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is "pricing partners". Thank you. Dac04 (talk) 16:28, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Answer to this

My name fully reflect that I am acting on behalf of Pricing Partners and that this is transparent. I am currently the CEO of the company and can fully decide how to present the history of our company. Let me know if there is a problem with that and I will change my name but I believe this is more ethic to clearly state that I am related to Pricing Partners. This is a company I created in 2005

Please read WP:COI to see why doing anything in relation to the company on Wikipedia is a really bad idea. Because you appear to be here exclusively to promote the company, it is very likely you will be blocked for editing while having a conflict of interest. Hasteur (talk) 16:39, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of "pricing partners" for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article "pricing partners" is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/"pricing partners" until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Zad68 (talk) 16:48, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on "pricing partners" requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:52, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Answer

OK, understood User:Eric.benhamou.pricingpartners By the way I contested the deletion of the page on pricing partners but it seems that this has been deleted. How can I recover it? Many thanks --Eric.benhamou.pricingpartners (talk) 17:19, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can ask an Administrator, like the one who deleted the article User_talk:Toddst1, to possibly recover the text for you. He may or may not do it for you, depending on his mood :) . Sorry that your experience here was so rough, but Wikipedia has a very strict policy against being used for promotion. Zad68 (talk) 17:24, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
What can I do now?
You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:29, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi, I feel this is not fair to be blocked as I want to honnestly do and edit a page on Pricing Partners. I was very honnest and explicitly recognize my conflict of interest and put in my user name that I was affiliated to Pricing Partners. The article created cited neutral source and after revisiting and editing it, the reviewer said this was fine. But as I kept editing, I was blocked. I find this is very harsh as I am working on a volunteer basis and have followed strictly the guidelines of wikipedia by doing a neutral article on pricing partners and have declared in my user name my conflict of interest. I am very surprised in addition as the reviewer said this was ok and then the article was deleted and my account blocked. I hope you can review this and change this unfair judgement. I promise to behave and to be more careful in the future

Decline reason:

As the block notice explains, Wikipedia does not permit the use of usernames that represent, or appear to represent, companies or organizations. Wikipedia also does not allow promotional articles to be written, and has some guidelines when it comes to conflicts of interest. Please re-read the block notice and have a read of the linked policies and guidelines, and when you feel you can edit within those guidelines, please feel free to request a "change username" unblock by following the instructions in the unblock notice. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:46, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

OK I understood that my name was not appropriate. I wanted to be transparent but this is against the wikipedia rules. I have understood and I promise to behave. Please unblock me as this is unfair. Thanks --Eric.benhamou.pricingpartners (talk) 10:33, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You have made it clear that your intention is to have the spam article Pricing Partners restored. If you really honestly did not see that article as promotion, then you are so blind to blatant advertising that you lack the ability to see writing objectively, which is necessary in order to edit Wikipedia constructively. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:55, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

answer to that

At this stage, I just want two things: 1. to unblock my account 2. to remove deletion of Pricing Partners as this is an objective content. If to be unblock it means that I cannot edit the article Pricing Partners, I am happy with this decision. However, I believe that the content before deletion was following the guidelines of wikipedia and the reviewer said this was fine. So I do not understand why this is now deleted and why people are punching me so hardly. If I hurt someone at Wikipedia, I am also happy to say sorry for that but I believe I was not doing anything wrong and I am happy to progress --Eric.benhamou.pricingpartners (talk) 11:02, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Pricing Partners "article" was nothing but an advertisement, with no notability, especially as per WP:CORP. As such, it will not and cannot be undeleted - Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business directory. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:25, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
