I'm quite novice at wiki editing but it seems unclear to me as to why this comment needed a section. If it does, why it doesn't include the context or further text from the article? I was going to delete it but thought I must be missing something. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fungalphobia (talk • contribs) 08:27, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Criticism
I know he has lots, from theists to atheists. religious to non-eligious. It would help expand the article to find good citations. The information presented is actually not very good. IronCrow 04:32, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
- Criticism is a dangerous thing to add to an biography. As it is, we clearly and neutrally describe what he believes. That's all we need to do, and in most cases all we should do.--Prosfilaes (talk) 18:46, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
so you can add criticism to everey autobiography accept for atheists ?
Is this how things work on wikipedia ?
Who is making the rules ?
who is in charge anyway ?
Criticism is a good thing to add, its not like the guy is flawless, and yes he do make mistakes.
whats next ? taking the criticism of joseph stalins page ?

--- @Patrickthedutch How about he was an Evangelical Christian, is that enough criticism for you? Perhaps you were thinking of another mistake he has made. Do tell. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tantaluman (talk • contribs) 13:02, 3 April 2010 (UTC)
- There are no autobiographies in Wikipedia. Joseph Stalin's page doesn't have a criticism section.--Prosfilaes (talk) 02:54, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Date Mismatch
The third paragraph of the Biography section states that "He performed a musical duet with Judy Garland in the 1948 film Easter Parade.[5]" However, the rest of the page states he was born in 1949. I'll remove the bit about the film until someone can clear it up permanently. Here it is for reference:
He performed a musical duet with Judy Garland in the 1948 film Easter Parade

- Uhh, its referring to his father. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 14:29, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
-- I would think this sentence could be combined with the previous to reduce confusion. "Dan's father, Norman Barker, was also a musician who played the trombone and performed a musical duet with Judy Garland in the 1948 film Easter Parade." How does that sound? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lgbuz84 (talk • contribs) 12:48, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Notable?
The only notability I can see is that he has appeared on a lot of TV shows - but seems to be rather unimportant entirely otherwise. Playing the trombone is not notable, his "success" as a musician is shown only by SPS sources, and not by any notability in the music industry (I can not verify "200 songs published" for sure) and the foundation seems notable only for its own publicity. Air America is defunct - and the ratings for the "Freethought" show were apparently almost non-existent. O'Hair at least was noted in major newspapers, Barker is not. Cheers.
