Hello - I'm a web administrator at a university in Texas and new to wikipedia - solely to be able to update some text content and photos/images on our university wikipedia page. I'm ready to learn how to use wikipedia but I'd like to fast track my ability to add photos/logos to the page as well. Laurenlinn (talk) 22:00, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You can request the upload of the logo at WP:Files for upload. As for the other photos: Question - What is the copyright status of the image(s) or file(s) you wish to use? Armbrust The Homunculus 09:58, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Armbrust, I'll need to compare our university website photo permissions with the copyright status descriptions in use on wikipedia before I can answer that question. I'll be back in the office on Monday and can better determine this by talking with my colleagues. Thanks! 16:02, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Not done (Admin closure). Please see Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide before you edit the university page. Please see the instructions at the top of this page for uploading images. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:56, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Question - What is the copyright status of the image(s) or file(s) you wish to use? Armbrust The Homunculus 03:11, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Nobody owns any content on Wikipedia. Please see WP:OWN. Thanks. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:45, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

User:NogaP

Hi there, I would like to upload photos of my own art that I have all the rights to. Thanks! NogaP (talk) 23:49, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - These types of images must be free as they are replaceable. Free images should be uploaded to our free image repository, the Commons. You do not need any special permissions to upload there and you can use the same username and password you use here. Armbrust The Homunculus 03:12, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I work for a radio station in eastern NC and I was trying to put the company logo on or Wiki page as "Copyrighted, Non-Free use which I believe is under it's fair use." Please allow me to put that up there with the copyright information on it. I do believe that that is the right copyright information to put on there to say "it's ours and its just for you too look and not take" Is this correct and please accept this. ImAmTheDoctor (talk) 01:18, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not done - As per the notice at the top of this page, this type of file can be uploaded using the Files for Upload process which will not require advanced permissions Armbrust The Homunculus 03:13, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And please read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 04:47, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello administrators, I may be new in Wikipedia but I do have experience in Wikia sites across various wikis. I did revert few vandalism with the STiki tool. I want to dive in the main aspects of Wikipedia and even though I understand 5% of articles are protected, my calculation will make the figure rise to 200,000 articles protected if there are 4,000,000 articles. I am very unhappy to find most articles that I find interest in are protected. Please review my contributions and grant me the confirmed right. Thank you! (P.S- I stopped using Stiki since West (developer) said there are restrictions) Wiki4Blog (talk) 12:11, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: You seem to have successfully edited a wide range of articles across a wide range of topics. As such, I'm having issues with the concept that "most articles that [you] find interest in are protected". As I have yet to see any real content work - which is the purpose of the confirmed flag - I'm not certain why you're requesting overall. Your anti-vandal work is great - make sure you give appropriate-level warnings to the vandals after reverting them! (✉→BWilkins←✎) 21:07, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Not done - Hi, and thank you for creating an account to edit Wikipedia. Although I fully understand your desire to dive right in, many of our articles are semi-protected because they are controversial, prone to vandalism, or other reasons. As a new editor with few edits, it might be wise to discuss your edits on the article talkpage in order to gain consensus for your edits, and then use {{Edit semi-protected}} to request the edit be performed. I only recommend this until you're used to the challenges of reliable sources, the biographies of living persons policy, and other similar policies. The good news is that fewer than 5% of Wikipedia articles are protected; this means that 95% of the articles can use your help right now!. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 21:04, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, a friend of mine asked me to change a photo on his page in Wikipedia (he's not very good with computers himself). As far as I understand, I need a confirmed account for that. I have already changed the text information on his page according to his request, but I need a confirmed account for uploading images. Vinnie777 (talk) 05:58, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Creating a wiki for a new game title Wowren (talk) 17:56, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am a fan of the newly released "Heroes of the Realm" computer game. I spoke with the publishers at OGPlanet and asked if I could create a wikipedia page for this new game. They agreed and gave me some image sources that I could use to help me get started. However I've only just created my wikipedia account a few days ago so I'm unable to upload the game logo on to the page, I've almost finished formatting and writing the page content, and I believe this game logo is the one and only image that needs to be uploaded. May I please have permission to do so.

Thanks

  •  Not done First, the game itself does not yet appear to be notable based on the drat article you have created, and as such would not yet make for an appropriate Wikipedia article. Second, the owners of any images will need to be the ones to directly release images to Wikipedia for use on the project. Third, as your article is still draft, we do not upload images for draft articles. Finally, beware of WP:FANCRUFT, original research and the requirement for third part sources instead of any reliance on primary sources or information provided by the company itself. You certainly would not need permission of the publisher if the game was notable enough! (✉→BWilkins←✎) 18:03, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • I've added quite a bit of credible citations on the page that I'm working on. Could you give it a quick look and see if it's notable enough for it to be an appropriate wikipedia article please? Thanks

I would like to add that Tom Brady's wife is Gisele Bundechen to the information bar at the top right

  •  Not done - There is no field for spouse in {{Infobox NFL player}} so even if you did add it, nothing would show up. The fact that they are married is already in the article. GB fan 18:13, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am a writer and editor based in London, and would like to confirm my account in order to write an article on the renowned German contemporary artist Susan Hefuna. As she has an exhibition opening this week, I would like to have confirmation of my account and be able to upload text and images, so that people interested in her work can discover more about her.

With very best wishes,

Katia Hadidian
