But Canaire wouldn't give in the had a big argument and in the end Senan gave in. Bishop of Brooklyn
On Drivetime this afternoon, Philip Boucher Hayes is talking to a fella who's saying the Bishop of Brooklyn (yes, in America!) is Bishop of Inis Cathaigh! How on earth did this happen? 89.101.41.216 (talk) 16:02, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- The answer is relatively simple: Titular bishop. Although the diocese does not exist any more, the title still exists. Bishop Frank Joseph Caggiano is auxiliary bishop (assistant) of Brooklyn. But making him titular bishop of Inis Cathaigh he has the same (church-)rights and powers as the real bishop. The Banner talk 20:38, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
- Interesting. Historically, why did this link between Inis Cathaigh and Brooklyn start? 89.101.41.216 (talk) 18:02, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
