Request reason:

please unblock. This is the Bethesda, Maryland public library. We need access. Thank you. It says vandalism only but I haven't seen any. Even if there has, please do not punish the world for the misbehavior of one.

Decline reason:

You are autoblocked. Please follow the instructions you are given. We need the exact block message you see to be able to address this, or we will have no indication of how you are blocked. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 17:15, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I am being bold and calling the library -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 17:09, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Some data: Near as I can tell, this IP is not blocked directly; rather, it is probably part if a rangeblock that involves multiple IP addresses. I'll do some digging as well. For what it's worth, I see no recent vandalism from this IP; indeed, before today, the previous edits were from June 2010. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 17:11, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I can find no active blocks. Maryland Library people (hello!), could you do me a favor and post the exact text of the error message you get when you try to edit another page? Typically, that "You are blocked from editing" message will have some code or identifier that may help track down the block. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 17:13, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict × 2) It's an autoblock. I can't, however, tell which one. --Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 17:15, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Though, I didn't have her actually save anything, which would have been nice since we would know what IP she was editing from. Furthermore, I did a geo-locate on that IP and it's not is from MD. -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 17:17, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Autoblock

Clearing an autoblock

Due to the nature of the block applied we need additional information before we can decide whether to unblock you. It is very likely that you are not personally blocked. If you are prevented from editing, it may be because you are autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. Without further details there is nothing further we can do to review or lift your block. Please follow these instructions:

  1. If you have a Wikipedia account, please ensure that you are logged in.
Your account name will be visible in the top right of this page if you are.
If it isn't, try bypassing your web browser's cache.
  2. Try to edit the Sandbox.
  3. If you are still blocked, copy the {{unblock-auto|...}} code generated for you under the "IP blocked?" section. This is usually hidden within the "What do I do now?" section. If so, just click the "[show]" link to the right hand side to show this text.
  4. Paste the code at the bottom of your user talk page and click save.

If you are not blocked from editing the sandbox then the autoblock on your IP address has already expired and you can resume editing. Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 17:30, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

{{64.26.99.102|Autoblocked because your IP address was recently used by "France is the greatest". The reason given for France is the greatest's block is: "Vandalism-only account". I looked and the person with the stupid name (France) did not do any vandalism, even said sorry and was in a debate with others, none of whom were blocked. But I don't care about this, I care that you are blocking a library that serves a county of 1M people, of which 500 use wikipedia assuming that 1 person in 2,000 uses it. In a school of 1,000, probably 600 people use it or 60% so the 0.0005% figure is not way off. Wikipedia can be very bureaucratic with all these wikipedia-specific instructions - should just have a few boxes to click. |Toddst1|2056997}}

On the other hand, just fuck it. I was going to fix an error in the Bethesda, Maryland article but just fuck it and leave it alone. I don't care about helping out so you can increase the autoblock to 50 years for what I care.

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Autoblock #2056997 lifted or expired.

Request handled by: Shirik (Questions or Comments?)

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.
