Concerns

Hi Dark. Starting to get concerns that our B:AO "friends" may be a "friend", per the request sent to both you and me to look at WB Montreal. I find it strange that another red-link user is making very similar edits on similar pages, in such a short time frame. At first I didn't, and gave them the benefit of the doubt, but now I'm not so sure. Let me know. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 14:44, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh it's definitely him, same name type, same edits, same use of language, same focus on a single article and/or articles related to that article. He's just attempting to avoid any issue to do with the photographs. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 14:59, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have enough to go to WP:SPI? - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:50, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Mr. Favre and Mr. Blake. I strongly believe this is unnecessary, the only reason I have a second account is because I can not log in to my WWE Batman131 account. I was not able to reset my password as there was no e-mail account associated with it. I assure you that this is by no means abusive use and/or deception of any type. The photography issue was a starter's mistake for me and I have learned from it. I apologize if this was a concern to you. I do realize that I have admitted to having 2 accounts and if you desire to take this to WP:SPI it is your right. I again apologize if I have wronged you in any way. Apologies from Mainstreammark/WWE Batman131 Mainstreammark (talk) 21:01, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Two more of possible now: Heisenberg101 and KikdaBuffoon889. Only questioning because it the images again. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:08, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I can't see KikdaBuffoon on Arkham Origins, but I felt the same about Heisenberg because of the image and almost if not the exact same use of a quote underneath the picture. GGoogle search shows that image elsewhere, but it's difficult to tell if the uploader is the owner or not as I can't see a date on those other versions to know if it is old or recent. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 17:16, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
KikdaBuffoon upload the image/has it in commons claiming ownership. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:24, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So I looked the image up here which is 2010, so its OLD for a start which makes it less likely that the person who took it has uploaded it. It's defintely where its come from as he has the author down as the same person who uploaded it on Disney Wikia but I can see no release for the image on htere. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 17:22, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Here is the file page on here. Take a look for yourself. I may have misread, they may not be claiming ownership, but it still begs to question association between them and Mark/WWE. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:32, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I just noticed Batman's voice actor has the same name as the alien from AMerican Dad. It's hard to tell, like the others their edits are solely related to a single subject and are doing so while neither Mark nor WWE are editing, Heisenberg and all 4 people created a user page with an early edit with a little bit of text with very similar kind of humor. So while I cannot say definitively that they are all the same person, I think they are, and that image has no information that I can see in the links provided making it available for use. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 17:39, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ha. Look at that. Roger Smith and Roger C. Smith. Anyways, we could try SPI or post on each of their pages, linking to WP:SOCK and see the response we get. As you may have known or seen, or "esteemed" friend Tre turned out to be a master and created at least two socks. Who knew? So it just seems recently I've been extra cautious to edits and editors that may be socks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:59, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Eh, if you post on their talk pages all you will get is denial or "i didn't mean it". Darkwarriorblake (talk) 18:17, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
To be honest, I'm not overly concerned at the moment. I know that it may be a problem, but it's not like Tre's case where he was doing it to try to deceive others and get his way. I'll wait it out a bit, unless you want to proceed, then I'll be behind you. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:30, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If he is doing it really he needs to be reported because it is against the rules, but so far we only have our own interpretation of what is genuine. I would report that image because it likely isn't free to use at least. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 20:41, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reported the photo on Commons, removed it on Origins and Smith's page. Will continue to monitor these user's activities. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 21:08, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think the comment on your talk page by KikdaBuffoon "you are the one who is getting on my nerves with these "copyright complaints". Hold on, when did I claim that it is mine, I'm trying to give full credit to the original uploader. Again with false accusations." pretty much confirms it is still Mark/WWE since as far as I am aware you've only had the one image interaction with Kikda. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 22:58, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Mr. Blake and Mr. Favre, I just wanted to let you know that I have monitored this talk page for quite some time and I will tell you that I have no reason to create another account. The only reason that I did it once was because of password problems. I'm sorry if this has invaded your privacy, but I just couldn't help it. It's very interesting reading your views. I don't have any other accounts. Boy Scout Oath. Hope you sirs are doing well. Mainstreammark (talk) 23:30, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@Dark: I felt the same as well. Bit swamped with school starting, but am definitely thinking of SPI, just to confirm either way, yes or no. @Mark: Do know that this is very serious. While I will give you the benefit of the doubt for WWE and the password situation, if you are using multiple accounts, the end result for you will not be good. Dark and I are seeing increasing amounts of evidence to justify going to SPI. And it does not help denying either, if you do indeed have multiple accounts. So just know that. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:01, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Mr. Favre I am telling you with all my heart I do not have multiple accounts. I do know how serious it would be if I did. I am being clouded by classes as well. In fact, I even tuned into the investigation with TreCoolGuy with extreme fascination. I applaud your amazing detective skills and I assure you I am not amongst the people who use deception and tricks in order to get their way. I consider you and Mr. Blake as great mentors and I would never do anything to dishonour that. I have the upmost respect for you both and Wikipedia. I really appreciate you giving me benefit of the doubt for the WWE situation. I promise you that you can take my word for this. Peace -- Mainstreammark (talk) 01:40, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think "semi-retiring" is probably a good idea.

Maybe it's like this: You fall in love with Wikipedia, but Wikipedia doesn't fall in love with you.

I certainly have no barnstars to offer you. I wish there was something I could offer you, along the lines of, "You're losing it; shape up or ship out."

I'm sorry, that can't be nice to read, but I only know you from your recent activity. You are absolutely HOVERING over the article Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (film), and your only "contribution" to this article seems to be the wholesale reversion of good-faith edits (mine AND OTHERS). And your justifications are increasingly ludicrous. Did you even realize what you said, when you said:

Easiest way to avoid your [it's not mine - it's the readers I worry about] burning confusion? Remove the Joker's body burning, it is not important to the plot understanding.

YES! YOU wrote that!

I don't have to respect that sort of "contribution", and I fucking well don't.

And for the record, after rigging the Joker's corpse to explode, Batman used plastique explosives to bring the roof down on a pile of cops in the Tunnel Of Love. They weren't even mildly super-powered. They were ordinary humans, and many of them HAD to have died when the building went up!

No article here is yours.

When an editor start behaving as if an article belongs to him, it is time for that editor to go. Going voluntarily is a smart move. This way, you're the only one who can decide you're ready to come back.

When the day comes that you accept that -- and SHOW IT, in the way you "talk" to people (I mean, do you really believe your contemptuous sarcasm doesn't show through?) THEN, if that happens, I will be among the first to welcome you back.

Have a good break. Although I don't, as yet, like you, I could see that happening. You're obviously smart, and you've got me to re-think my edits, so I have to acknowledge that. Best of luck.

--Ben Culture (talk) 19:33, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ben, if I cared about anything you had to say I might care. You seem to be confusing your edits being negative and me undoing them with a reason and explanation as ownership. I assure you that it is purely related to the content of your edits and reasoning is given for those changes. I don't care that you 'think' Batman killed cops, he didn't, it isn't what happens in the film your interpretation does not belong, if you believe you are in the right and I am in the wrong invite other editors to participate in the discussion instead of coming here telling me to retire or claiming that I own the article, because you aren't going to convince me that because you think that fictional cops were killed by the Batman who doesn't kill even his worst enemy, that should be in the plot section. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 20:25, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You do not need to offer him a condescending barnstar, as Darkwarriorblake has exemplified themselves as an outstanding editor that has already earned numerous awards and who I feel very confident in whenever I cross paths with them while editing. Take a breather

Hey man,

I'd advise you take a breather with editing The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, as you could risk getting nailed down alongside Ferrari è grande for edit-warring. Have some good faith that consensus is on your side, so you don't need to worry about your reverted edits remaining as such; we'll build the case. I sent a message with a similar context to Ferrari è grande, so it's nothing personal; I just don't want you to get wrongfully blocked. :) DarthBotto talkcont 18:19, 09 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Interpretation

Um...... Ok, just relax Mr. Blake. Take it easy - Mainstreammark (talk) 22:34, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That edit was a personal interpretation, and Dark reverted in an acceptable manner. Just because A looks like B, doesn't mean it is. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:00, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake. I misread the edit summary, sorry about that Mr. Blake. Laterz - Mainstreammark (talk) 02:11, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think you did misread the summary, it's that it's the 3rd or 4th time it's had to have been said, like the photos. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:57, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Third or fourth time what had to be said? Also where has the photo issue (which I regret) risen from all of a sudden? After a mistake made by me, I gave a respectful apology. The same respect that I don't seem to be getting from you in return. What more do you want Mr. Blake? - Mainstreammark (talk) 02:49, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Trading Places

Yes, indeed. I was wrong. As he returns to Ophelia's house, he locks himself in the bathroom and consums red pills. But, FIRST, he tries to shoot his own head, doesn't he?Brazilian Man (talk) 04:17, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

He does, but the pills are the attempt that works and causes the next scene which is Winthorpe returned home, seen by a doctor, and uniting with Ophelia, Valentine and Coleman. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 10:34, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Arkham Origins

Hey Mr. Blake. Sorry to bother you but I found this website that in a disappointing way revealed Lady Shiva to be one of the eight assassins hired by Black Mask. Here is the website http://www.exophase.com/game/ozzy-codename-xbox/achievements/ Thanks -- Mainstreammark (talk) 00:23, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As stated on my page, this doesn't really matter, as it is an achievements site, and it's info and reliability should be taken with a grain of salt. It can not be used to confirm either way this info. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:52, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you have some time, would you care to review God of War: Ghost of Sparta? --JDC808 23:32, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ghostbusters

Hello. I'm contacting you in regards to you undoing the edits I made for the 1984 movie, "Ghostbusters". May I ask why you did that? Just because I saw the film on DVD, I can't add any of the filming locations or the quotes in this film? Ineed to know.

The plot section is not a tourism guide, if it is not already present and you have a source add filming locations to the production section. In-Universe addresses are even less important. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 14:19, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Reference Restoration Mistake

Sincerest apologies Mr. Blake, I did not know what would happen because of the edit conflict that had occurred. I did not mean to put your hard work work in a place it didn't belong. Sorry if this wasted your time, and I wasn't trying to interfere with reference improvements. I'm all up for improvements within the article. Sorry about that. I owe you one sir. - Mainstreammark (talk) 23:54, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's fine, it gave me a chance to copy edit anyway. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 07:20, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Transformers cast infobox

Apologies for making those edits. I operated under the assumption that Cullen and Weaving were added to the first film's infobox by consensus, and that it'd make sense to follow that consensus through to the sequels. In hindsight, I should've actually checked before making the edits, so I apologize. Thank you for the catch. Corvoe (speak to me) 01:57, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Important Question

Hey Mr. Blake. I was wondering if you are a Wikipedia administrator. If not already I believe you are very deserving of that status. 7 years of hard work on Wikipedia with such class, excellent use of speech, and constructiveness. I don't know if you would want this or not as your page states that you are semi-retired. But if you would, I can place a nomination for you and I'm sure many other users would back me up, especially Mr. Favre. I'd never forcefully do this but if you agree with me, I can give a great nomination for you. Thank you for what you have done for the Wikipedia prospects like me and for all your hard work that should reward you with a more powerful and higher position. - Mainstreammark (talk) 22:24, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No I'm not an administrator, and from what I hear being one isn't all it's cracked up to be beyond the additional powers made available. Becoming an admin is hard too, they judge you on everything. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 22:29, 27 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

UKER has a personal issue with me. The only way it was going to end was through sheer numerical superiority as he wasn't interested in accepting any evidence I provided. He can have it, I'm embarrassed I even participated as long as I did. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 20:57, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Prometheus

Hello Darkwarriorblake, in regards to the cast of Prometheus, I ask permission to add bullets to the names of Sean Harris and Rafe Spall. Firstly, I think it would help highlight the information that their characters pertain, and their quotes on the film. I think it's a safe assumption that the two are relevant enough to be highlighted as the two were named in the opening credits (as opposed to Benedict Wong and Emun Elliott). It would be very much appreciated, thank-you. Alternative595 (talk) 02:25, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You do not need to ask me for permission to make edits. They were already bullet points but during it's promotion to Featured Article it was changed to prose to meet requirements, and per WikiProject Film guidelines, when using this formatting we use the starring list from the Infobox which is sourced from the release poster to decide who is starring to prevent arguments or favoritism. They're not lesser or harmed by being in prose instead of bullet pointed. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 11:12, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"What? Of course a summary of the contents belongs in the lede. Why is the source unreliable?"

First of all, questions should be asked on talk pages, not in edit summaries. But here's my answer:

The paragraph is out of context and doesn't make sense as to why it's there. It says, "Nothing Lasts Forever is the sequel to Thorp's 1966 novel The Detective..." So, what the heck does that have to do with Die Hard?? So, I do a search for it in the article, and then I see that the only source given is a blog -- which hardly ever should be used as a sole source. --Musdan77 (talk) 02:23, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I looked the site over, it's not wordpress, lots of big sites group their individual publications as "blogs". I see nothing on there about it being used submitted and/or unmoderated. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 07:09, 7 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Using game credits as a source

Hey Blake. Is there a procedure, or is it acceptable, to use game credits as a source? I'm looking at it possibly for the mobile Arkham games, to prune any info from them. If credits can be used, could we use the Batman Arkham Videos video that is posted? I know that non-related accounts can't be used, but as it is showing factual content, could that be an exception? Also, don't know if you will get the new Origins mobile game, but I just watched the credits, and they have a TON of voice actors for the game. (That is also another reason I would want to use the credits.) Thanks. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:54, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You can use credits, its my personal preferene to use websites because I believe in evidence that can be backed up and everyone can check. For instance on Saturday Night Live the only way to really get the good info is from the books, I don't have much choice there, but now I need to look up the info, even using page numbers its a nuisance and I have the books, people who don't just have to take my word for it. What you can do is check behindthevoiceactors, images with green ticks are ones they have checked, and if they haven't done it yet, you could contact them on the forums with the video to provide it as evidence so they will hopefully update their site. If you want to use a video for now that would be ok, just make sure you add a timestamp of where those credits begin. For the mobile version credits though I'm wary of using it for the console game without evidence that the existing unsourced voices are voiced by the same person in both games. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 18:59, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I feel you about using websites - I feel the same. However, the mobile games usually don't get a lot of love, or in depth reported to state this. Here is the video I would use for Lockdown. The whole video is the credits, but it does not associate actors to characters, so I don't know if us adding them would be WP:SYNTH and WP:OR. It's the same with the Origins mobile credits (which I would only use for this game). I looked at BTVA, and they did not have entries for either game. I did find this for the Origins mobile that might work, as it is general and I feel would apply to this game as well. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:09, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Arkham City's credits used teh same thing, names with no credits, it's irritating. About as irritating as the voice actors not having websites and when htey do not having them fully updated. So while hte credits show who is in the game, we can't say who they were playing, you probably wouldn't guess that Nolan North voices the Penguin from the credits without having a source specifically say that. BTVA article is here for the console game at least. If the mobile games credits say the name, use that for now until you find a better source. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:46, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll keep my eye out. No rush, just wanted to be proactive. After reviews/initial news subsides, we can discuss this further. I'll make it a topic on the Batman: Arkham page. Thanks for the info though, as always. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 02:58, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This maybe? In the second to last paragraph: "Vocally, it seems that most of the console voice cast is along for the ride, even though it’s for little more than grunts and the franchise’s signature game over cinemas." Find a source confirming character, this confirms the actor? I won't attempt anything until after the weekend, or I've completed the main game. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:19, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ehhhhh, it says most but not who. It's not long now, mine is already pre-loading off Steam, we will survive till we can see the credits. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 07:01, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I also have a feeling the mobile credits were credits just from the three as a whole, because as I said, there were a lot of names, and I don't believe there were that many characters in there. Also, enjoy the game when you get it! I'll be getting mine Friday morning, and then will suffer through a day of class and work, until I can play it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 12:39, 23 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It says it unlocks in like 2 hours which is sadly like 12:30 am for me, so i will have to go to work before I get to take a crack at it. My advice, do not read the edit summaries for the Arkham Origins page, if checking edits, don't focus, try to get an idea of what section has been edited first, so steer awya from setting/plot/character sections, because some douche will always try to ruin it for people. If the page weren't locked I'm sure that would already be the case. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:37, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah definitely. I'm heading out for in 5 hours at 12:01 EST to pick up my copy, and then I'm going to get home and download all the preorder material I got, and possibly dive in. I know for the page, we may not have much of the issue as it is protected, but I will be avoiding it, and I know myself, you and Mark won't be editing until completion. I will however, make one last go on the page now to change everything to the present and "released" etc, as technically it has been released in other parts of the world. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 23:11, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'm really trying to imagine the kind of hell the article will have gone through during our gaming time. But at least the page is protected till the end of December, so we won't have to worry about goofball IP's farting on the article. I'm picking my copy up on Friday morning. So excited! Any chance you sirs will be gaming on the PlayStation3 system? Would be great if I could add one or both of you on PSN. Happy gaming to you both! - Mainstreammark (talk) 01:11, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You will find that the edits are largely isolated to reviews and/or plot, thats the only thing fairweather editors bother with. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 06:53, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I Believe You Were Looking for This

Hope it helps. - Mainstreammark (talk) 20:12, 18 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Apostrophes

Hello Darkwarriorblake,

I noticed after I removed this incorrect apostrophe, you reintroduced it two days later, with the edit summary Clean up. This is not how the apostrophe is used: you do not add one to make a word plural; the apostrophe denotes possession or abbreviation. It's a common mistake, but one that should never be made in formal writing. Best, 65.129.135.99 (talk) 17:52, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Teamwork Barnstar
Here's to working together over the past months to get Batman: Arkham Origins ready for its release. We may have had a few disagreements here and there, but we worked them out to get a great article ready, for hopefully, a great game. Let's keep it up to get the article to GA status! Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:07, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The Teamwork Barnstar
Likewise for the excellent collaboration exhibited on your part that tremendously helped Batman: Arkham Origins to become a healthy article within the Wikipedia namespace. Let's continue this extravagant trend we have going. Cheers! - Mainstreammark (talk) 20:40, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks guys. I will say that so far my fears about someone else developing are true. I find the city design pretty bland, the story likewise doesn't have an instant hook opening like Arkham City's Strange capturing Wayne or the Joker's escape, and I don't know about you guys but I have the PC version and it is FULL of glitches. Every time I take someone down they randomly fly across the room. I think I'm drawing close to my first Joker encounter so that seems interesting, but it definitely feels like an expansion to fill the gap between City and whatever comes next. I'm at the part where you first encounter a "Martial-Artist" enemy, and I have to say that the cons are starting to overpower the pros. - Mainstreammark (talk) 01:50, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pros:

  • Roger's voice has really stuck for me.
  • The Batsuit.
  • Alfred is sexy (just kidding).
  • Batman's badass tendencies.
  • The way Cobblepot got thrown like a chunk of pork.
  • Is worth being called an Arkham game.

Cons:

  • Slower combat.
  • Some glitches.
  • The Tiffany Ambrose analysis - giving me a headache.
  • Seems like the developer put all their gas into the larger open-world, and forgot what makes Rocksteady's games so rich and empowering.
  • I'm on PS3, and even though I did eventually adapt to it, was bothered by the controls being altered in an unneeded way.

Brief analysis from Mainstreammark (talk).

I'm on PS3, like Mark, and they unnecessarily changed prepping and firing gadgets from L1/R1, to L2/R2. Very frustrating and annoying, as I am so used to it the other way, and now, I inadvertantly fire batarangs instead of going into Detective Mode. I have encountered some glitchyness here and there, but I think Eric Holmes has said a patch is coming. I'm enjoying the new case solving, but (I think we are all here at this point in the game), the Black Mask girlfriend case had us do too much at once. It would have been great to break it up and have us step away and then revisit it, but I know that it was necessary to move the main plot forward. I probably could be a lot farther in the main story, but I'm trying to do all of the Enigma side stuff per region as I am there, as well as some of the other Villain mini stuff. I definitely don't think it is as good as City, but it isn't "bad" by any means in my opinion. I agree though with Mark that WB Montreal lost some of what made the Rocksteady ones great by focusing on such a huge world. And is it me, or do the City sections not look similar? I know it isn't walled and destroyed, but it just doesn't look or feel the same. BUT, I did just have my first Joker experience, and wow, did that pull me right back in. I hope it doesn't fizzle from here. I wanted to continue but as of this post, it is 2:30 am, so I will resume tomorrow. Oh and the Knightfall skin is super bad ass, which I hope to use in the challenge maps, which I have not explored very much. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 06:30, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Two last things. Have either of you tried the MP yet? I was going to try after finishing the story the first time, but reviews have said it isn't the bet. Also, I'm going to add reviews to Origins Blackgates talk pages. I know you both have kept up the Origin's ones, but Blackgates has not been, so they will be there for quick access. Feel free to add any I miss. Oh. And don't for get to update the Reception section on the Arkham series page with the MC and GR scores. That whole section needs expanding anyways. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 06:51, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sadly I had to call it quits because I have work this morning, will play more when I get home. I thought the Tiffany case was interesting in theory, but it doesn't really let you investigate, you just look for the next red arrow. There is some detail with following the red lines to find hidden objects but it's pretty annoying when i can see the object but it wont let me get it because I haven't found it in the investigation mode yet. I haven't tried MP but I read the same things. I am working on a review section in my sandbox at the minute. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 06:53, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well if you have not gotten to the first Joker's encounter, I think you will enjoy it. (If you did, I hope you enjoyed it. I certainly did.) I'll help out in your sandbox if I can. I just took out some from my previous comment, as Mark already placed a handy page from VG24/7 that lists many of the reviews for the main game. It's Blackgate that will need the work and/or finding. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 07:01, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We'll see, I'm gonna try and do some side missions first to unlock items rather than get to the end and then unlock them when I wont be able to use them. When I got to what will be Arkham City I did recognize the layout and some buildings, but the overall design just looks generic and bland. Random Black Mask guys hanging out in what looks like an almost regular city can't compete with a city overrun by villains and their gang members that has been borderline destroyed as is half on fire. A steel mill is not quite as interesting as a steel mill converted into a circus. But the reviews I've read so far have said that the first third is pretty crap and when the Joker turns up everything gets better. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 07:12, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't tried MP yet. Will do after completion of the main story. Did any of you to see the the way Joker assaulted Roman? I almost closed my eyes at the brutality of it. And was absolutely shocked at what Joker did to Buchinsky....just amazed at how badass that was. The "circus mill" is something that I'm not really a fan of. A great chunk of the Copperhead boss fight was incorporated from the Ra's al Ghūl boss fight. Almost died too, but held on to two bars of health. I have to say that I'm quite anxious to see how things will play out from here on. I'll get to play in a couple hours - can't now because I have a swimming class. Nevertheless, I'm going to try Blackgate after Origins, as my brother pre-ordered for 3DS. I'll try to find a strong page of reviews for Blackgate as well. Haven't really seen any good reviews for Blackgate, but my brother says that it's worth it. So we'll look at that. I've also been seeing a lot of unsourced or poorly written content being added to Origins' page. Can't complain too much, as I did anticipate it. I'll be getting back to gaming soon! - Mainstreammark (talk) 15:19, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You spoiled me on something happening to Electrocutioner. Considering how much his gloves play into the story it's like they googled DC and "electric" and just went with the first person they found that could give them an excuse to incorporate electric gloves. The story stuff relating to the Joker does pretty much save what is an otherwise very average game, but stuff goes by so fast it's hard to take it all in, it could use a cutscene viewer. But the reviews seem about right score wise, I found getting into fights a chore instead of a thrill, the scoring system seems pointless, like someone had debug mode on while programming and thought "hey this could be cool if we left it on". The Riddler stuff is just bad and lazy, and the assassins don't play into the story barely at all and when they do it isn't ever very well. They did at least improve on some of the boss parts so Bane isn't just "avoid, batarang, avoid", etc. The Hotel is probably the high point as its pretty dark and a good introduction to the Joker, but the game lacks the same atmosphere and attention to detail that the previous games had, like going back to a previously visited area and finding something new.
But unforgivable is the glitches. One of the radio towers cannot be completed on the PC because he won't climb in the vent, and I constantly had dialog cut off from main characters by ambient dialog from things like Crime Alerts. And overall it seemed if you weren't close to the person talking, it was easy to not hear them. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 00:32, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And the S.O.B's copied Arkham City so much that the damn voice credits don't say who they played. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 00:35, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies. I hope that didn't ruin things for you - I should have been more careful. Is it me, or did Rocksteady approve of WB Montreal developing the game? They didn't fully live up to my expectations. But it is a worthwhile game. I've completed the main story, and am currently one quarter through New Game Plus. My rating: 8/10 - Mainstreammark (talk) 00:59, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
