Kunming International Academy (Chinese: 昆明国际学校; Wade–Giles: Kun-ming Kuo-ji Hsüeh-hsiao; Hanyu Pinyin: Kunming Guóji Xuéxiào; Literally: Kunming International Academy; Abbreviation KIA) is a private international school in Kunming, China, owned and operated by Oasis International Schools. Founded in 1994, it serves the international community by providing education to expatriate children living in Kunming in English for Pre-Kindergarten-Grade 12. The school has an enrollment of over 300 students from over 20 different countries, including the United States, Korea, Australia, Austria, Benin, Canada, Chile, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Germany, Myanmar, Switzerland, France, and the United Kingdom.
The school uses an American curriculum and is accredited by WASC, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It is a member of the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS).
KIA graduates have been accepted at Azusa Pacific University, Baylor University, Biola University, Calvin College, Georgia Institute of Technology, Grand Canyon University, Houghton College, Liberty University, New Mexico State University, Seattle Pacific University, Hong Kong University, Tufts University, University of Florida, and Virginia Commonwealth University among others.
Campus
The current campus is located within the expanse of Hu Pan Zhi Meng Residential Area (Chinese: 湖畔之梦小区; Literally: Lakeside Dreams Residential Area) in southern Kunming. Modern facilities include:

- Two full science labs equipped with advanced laboratory materials
- A 200+ seat theater with orchestra pit and other performance spaces
- 2 full size computer labs
- A 300-meter running track & soccer field shared by
- Two outdoor moderately-sized basketball courts
- A music room. The only nice room in KIA
- 1 set of bathroom (male/female) on every floor
Academics
Elementary School
The aim at KIA is to provide high-quality education that challenges, develops, and prepares elementary students in the school for a life of joy and responsibility. There has been a great deal of change and modification over the years that has strengthened this aim for academic excellence. With many qualified and dedicated teachers, the use of diverse teaching methods, and international adaptability, the elementary school is constantly working toward a better school and students. Each teacher has different strengths that enhance the KIA environment. The staff members share common foundational beliefs that create a sound moral fiber that provides a caring and safe place for individual growth.
Senior High & Junior High School
Junior High School
Junior High School (grades 6-8) has the following characteristics:
- A “self-contained” school with its own schedule and set of teachers.
- Students have homeroom teachers for at least three core classes to create a "secure", small learning community.
- During the non-core enrichment classes, grade levels are mixed to create a "larger" junior high school community.
- Project-based learning is emphasized during science and social studies courses.
- Cross-curricular learning activities are developed and presented
- Emphasis of foundational mathematics and English language arts courses, including two "classes" of English language arts at each grade level.
Senior High School
In senior high school (grades 9-12), a greater number of courses and activities are available, including AP courses, Student Government, drama, and various sports. Beyond the required courses, students can select at least two courses they are interested in. To graduate, students are required to fulfill the graduation requirements that prepare them for university study.

Newspaper
KIA's newspaper is titled The KIA Post. Throughout its history, the format of the publication has been changed many times. In the 2009–2010 school year, Newspaper became an official class, offered as an elective credit.
Athletics
