Urvashi Rautela (Hindi: उर्वशी रौतेला, born February 25, 1994) is an Indian Supermodel, International Beauty queen and Bollywood actress. She won Miss Universe India 2012 & was crowned by former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. She also won Miss Tourism Queen Of The Year International 2011 in China, Asian Super Model India 2011 in South Korea and Miss Teen India 2009. She hails from Kotdwara in Uttarakhand.[1]
Education
Rautela was also granted 100% scholarship for New York Film Academy - School of Film and Acting (NYFA) is an international film school and acting school based in New York City.
Career
Rautela made her grand debut at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week biggest fashion weeks of india in year 2011 as a Teen Supermodel and appeared in TV and print ads including Lakmé Cosmetics, Ozel Lifestyle, Bhima Gold, LG, Grasim, Grohe for Germany, Levi's and many others before shifting to pageants. In 2009, she competed at the Miss Teen India 2009, mentored by former Miss World Diana Hayden. In 2011, she won the title of Miss Asian Supermodel 2011 in South korea internationally . She later competed for Miss Tourism Queen Of The Year International 2011 and won the title 2011 in China, defeating 88 girls from different countries all around the world. After winning the pageant, Rautela spoke of her dream for peace for this world, and her desire to be an ambassador of peace during her one-year reign in China. Rautela continued to pursue a career as a supermodel until she became an actress. She is also trained in seven dance forms Bharathanatyam, Kathak, Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop and Belly Dance and a national level basketball player.
At age 19,she starred in the 2013 film Singh Saab The Great'[5]
